The Italians and Chinese in British Land

News reached me that Ciel and Sebastian has been arrested because a massive amount of the drug 'Lady Blanc' was found in a Funtom factory, and the latter is confined in the Tower of London. Also, Lau has escaped from Scotland Yard's clutch, injuring many officers with his 'pet tigeress' Ran Mao.

Lau is most likely striking up a deal with the Ferros right now in their estate. Do I dare to go to the Ferros' base to destroy them? Not yet, not before the head of Ferro is killed. One should never underestimate the power of the Italian Mafia. For the leader to be killed, he needs to be picked off alone. I know of a perfect opportunity as I know that Ciel and Abberline will hijack his carriage, and they would leave him in order to catch and board Lau's junk. That will be my time to strike.

With that plan in mind, I thought of whose help I can get. Unlike Sebastian, Alex is not as great of a fighter so I shouldn't bring him. A supernatural helper would be great since I also plan on sneaking on Lau's junk.

With that in mind, I set out on writing a letter.

Your Majesty,

I am writing in regards of two matters. Firstly, an assassin is recently sent to kill me, and I have firm reason to believe that it was done by the Italian Mafia active in the east end under the Ferro Family.

Secondly, I have heard that Earl Phantomhive and his butler is currently being detained under the suspicion of violating the Pharmacy Act. I have also heard from some that he has stolen a royal document, but refuses to give up its location. I believe that I will be able to find its holder and its location. I also found evidence that the Ferros might be involved in this act of thievery.

I hope that I can execute my power as an Villainous Noble. I will find the truth, and eliminate them. I will recover the document and return it safely into your majesty's hand. I would be very grateful if I could enlist the help of your majesty's butler, Ash.

Yours Sincerely,

Clarette

Having looked over my letter, I folded it, inserted it into the finest envelop, and poured some red wax over it. Reaching into the drawer of my desk, I took out a thing I thought I would never use - the stamp Queen Victoria gave me all the way back in the Winter Ball. I quickly stamped the special shape into the wax before it cools, and rang the servant bell for Alex to come.

"My lady?" Alex said once he came into my study.

"Please deliver this letter to the nearest post office, and make sure to show them the seal." I said.

"At once, my lady." He took the letter, bowed, and left the room.

I sat back in my chair. All I could do now was wait.

-----

"My pure one, why are we here?" Ash inquired as we stood in a quiet alley, looking over the Port of London in front of us.

"I have information that the head of Ferro will see off the thief of the document in this port." I said. My eyes caught something. "Look." I said to Ash.

He followed the directions of my gaze, "It is only a man and a boy."

"Look closer."

His eyes narrowed, "Ciel Phantomhive."

"Yes."

"So that is where he escaped to."

Ciel, along with Abberline who was helping him, suddenly jumped onto a stopping carriage nearby. Abberline pushed the men controlling the carriage off it, and took hold of the horse reigns for himself. He hit the horses and they sped off.

"Let's follow." I said.

Ash suddenly picked me up which surprised me a little. He jumped on to the roof of the building next to us and followed the carriage by jumping from roof to roof. We stopped as the carriage was stopped by some men from the Mafia.

The head of the Ferros, Corraro, stepped off the carriage, leaving Ciel in there, and joined his men. "Do it!" He ordered.

The men started shooting at the carriage with the intension to kill both Ciel and Abberline. But within the blink of an eye, they were all knocked out, leaving Corraro, who fell onto the floor in terror.

Sebastian stood in front of the carriage all prime and proper. Ciel exited the carriage, and went over to Sebastian. They spoke a few quick exchange, and Sebastian picked up Ciel, leaving the scene.

"There's Corraro, leader of the Mafia." I said. Ash picked me up and we jumped down next to Corraro.

I took out my gun and pointed it at the man, "You are Corraro Ferro, head of the Italian Mafia, aren't you?"

He nodded, "W-Who are you?"

"I am Baroness Clarette. Sounds familiar?"

A hint of recognition flashed on his face, "You-"

"Tell me, did you send an assassin to kill me in my manor?" I shoved the gun onto his temple.

"No, I-"

I pushed the gun harder into his skin, "I won't take no for an answer."

"Fine I did! I did it because I was afraid of how fast your power was growing. I was afraid that you would threaten our place in the Underworld!"

"That makes sense," I nodded. "But why did the assassin say he was sent by Ciel Phantomhive?"

"I instructed him to. I thought if it fails and I can't take you down, I could at least turn you and Phantomhive against each other!"

"Clever plan. To your credit, it almost worked." I looked back at Ash, "Would her majesty approve if I killed him?'

"Yes. We have plans to purge the East End of the Mafia anyway."

Corraro's eyes widened when he saw Ash behind me, "You! Aren't you the Queen's butler who told me if I planted the Lady Blanc drug in Phantomhive's factory I would be guaranteed rule over East End!?"

"Yes, I did say that. Thank you for your service." Ash smiled.

"You liar! You son of a b-"

I shot him in the head before he could finish his sentence. "Well, that's done."

I looked back at the carriage full of bullet holes, and realised that Abberline had been watching the whole thing.

When my gaze met his, he quickly looked down, "Excuse me, my lady and lord. I need to go now." He jumped off the front of the carriage and was about to scuttle off when I stepped in front of him and stopped him.

"Abbeline, I have to thank you," I said, "Without you, I could never have found him," I nodded to the dead Corraro on the floor, "The person behind my assassination attempt."

"That's- That's great!" He laughed nervously, "I really should go n-"

"I know what you are about to do." I said, "Don't follow Ciel. You will die for nothing."

"But.. I have to. He's only a child..."

"Think of Maria! And your unborn child, who you don't even know if it's a boy or a girl."

His eyes widened, "How did you know..."

"Go. Go back to Maria and your child." I said. He seemed to be internally debating with himself. He then reluctantly turned away, returning the way where he came from. Good, I managed to save another life. Now he wouldn't have to take a fatal knife wound for Ciel on Lau's junk.

"Ash, remember the junk we saw on the dock of the port?" I asked.

"Yes, my pure one?"

"I think the document is on there, along with the person who stole it."

He nodded, picked me up once again, and we arrived at a higher ground that oversaw the whole dock. Lau's Chinese junk can easily be spotted amongst the other European style ships.

The defend castle bordering the bay started firing canons, aimed squarely for the junk. Quite a few hit it.

"Oh my goodness." I almost laughed out loud when I saw Sebastian, while holding Ciel, riding on a canon across the sea. They looked so ridiculous as it was so physically-defying.

They jumped onto Lau's junk, narrowly avoiding a shot of the canon.

"Should observe closer?" I said to Ash. He nodded, and wings extended from his back. We quickly flew near the junk, hovering just close enough to observe the deck through the smoke and debris.

Sebastian was fighting Ran Mao, and it was obvious that he had the advantage. Ciel ran out from a cabin of the junk, followed by Lau, who was holding a dao(a Chinese sword) and trying to kill Ciel.

After a few exchange of words, Lau charged towards Ciel with his dao. In the anime, Abberline would have saved Ciel by taking that lethal blow for him. But now that Abberline weren't there, Sebastian swiftly dodge Ran Mao's attack and stopped the swing of the dao in its track. Sebastian pushed the dao aside and with a chop of his hand, he cut through part of Lau's abdomen, causing red to seep through his Chinese attire.

He collapsed onto the deck, and Ran Mao ran to his side worriedly. Seeing that Lau was badly injured, Ciel left the sinking junk with Sebastian as they assumed that Lau will die.

"The document is in the ship," I said to Ash, "Let's get it before it sinks."

He landed on the deck of the junk and put me down. I quickly ran into the cabin that I saw Ciel and Lau coming out of, and looked around for the document. I found it in an opened wooden box so I quickly grabbed it and ran back out. I saw that Ash was observing the dying Lau.

"Lau." I said, approaching Lau and Ran Mao.

He looked at the scroll in my hand and laughed, "You won."

"See, you shouldn't have carried your plan forward. Now look at you."

"I guess I have to admit.. I am not good enough to be a player in the game like you and Ciel."

He carefully stood up with the help of Ran Mao, and started talking nonsense about butterflies and dreams. I assumed he lost his mind due to the blood lost at that point. Both Lau and Ran Mao jumped off the sinking junk abruptly, creating a sizable splash. I looked at the sea in surprise, but there weren't even a trace of either of them.

"Let's go, my pure one." Ash said. I nodded, and we flew all the way back to the Buckingham Palace.

We walked past the guards, through the maze that was Buckingham Palace, and arrived in front of a room. Ash knocked on it, and a voice permitting us to go in could be heard. We entered the room, revealing the Queen to be doing some paperworks on her desk.

"My Clarette." She said when she saw me, "How did it go?"

I walked up to her and curtseyed as I handed her the scroll. "Your Majesty, here is the royal document."

She broke the seal and unrolled it. She looked over the content, "Indeed it is. I thank you, Clarette. And what of the Ferros?"

"The head of the Ferros is eliminated. And I heard from Ash you plan to eradicate all of the Italian Mafia?"

"Yes. They have been stirring up too much trouble for my liking, and they tried to assassinate you. That was the breaking point with my tolerance of them."

I smiled as I was happy that I finally got revenge on the true mastermind behind my assassination.

"And also, Clarette," The Queen said.

"Yes, your Majesty?"

"The Exposition Universelle is being held in Paris in soon. I will be attending. Would you like to attend too? You can travel with Charles since he will be going as well." She asked.

"Oh, of course! I would love to go."

She nodded, "Good."
