Angela Blanc

"Resort, resort, we're so happy!" The servants sang repeatedly in the carriage behind. I was sitting next to Ciel in a nice carriage without a roof, which Sebastian was at the front driving it.

"Ciel, you haven't told them what Houndsworth is like, have you?" I said.

"No." Ciel replied simply. I chuckled.

"This would seem to be the entrance to the village." Sebastian stopped the carriage and announced. I saw the servants looked around excitedly when they heard that. They screamed in despair when they saw what it was like with the skeletons scattered around everywhere and chains of torture devices hung on the dead tree.

"I forgot to tell you one thing: this is the planned construction site for the resort." Ciel told them.

"Young master...." the servants said with crying faces.

After a bit we saw the old woman villager with the crib walking pass. Finny tried to help, but when they saw that it wasn't a baby inside, instead it was a dog's scull in there, they got really creeped out.

"The white dog is good dog. The disobedient black dog is a bad dog.... Lullaby and goodnight. If you don't go to sleep, the dog will come down here. He'll gobble your flesh down to the bone..." the woman sang as she walked away with the crib.

We carried on with our journey and we passed a lake. Not long after that, the village came into sight. The first house we saw, there was a guy hugging a dog.

Sebastian saw that and said, "He wraps its will with rewards and punishments, and forces obedient. A fine sight!" Oh Sebastian, you sadist demon! "But the dog is not blameless. It fawns on human, and welcomes the chain around its neck. Really, its quite hard to understand." Sebastian said with a somewhat dark expression.

"If you have something to say, just say it." Ciel said to him.

"Thank you, my lord. I love cats, but I'm not fond of dogs. Or rather.... To be frank, I hate them."

"Woof." Ciel barked. Nope, nope. Every time I watch this part in the anime I cringed and I would be like like ciel really!?

We soon arrived at the Barrymore Castle. A person in white and purple maid outfit with white hair hurried out the door to greet us. It was Angela. The person, or rather, the angel that I have came to see. Whether Madam Red lives or dies depends on her.

"The Earl Phantomhive, I presume?" She asked.

"Yes." Sebastian replied simply.

"Welcome to the Barrymore Castle. My master awaits your arrival." Angela bowed and looked at Sebastian. Sebastian looked back with an unamused expression. I wonder if they knew what each other were yet?

The servants commented how beautiful she was and Finny was staring at Angela and blushing a lot. Lol, he fancied her. I walked in with Ciel and Sebastian into the castle while the servants moved the suitcases. Angela opened led us to a room and opened the door for us to go in. I and Ciel walked in first followed by Sebastian. The room was decorated with severed animal heads on the wall. We suddenly heard a scream and saw that Henry Barrymore was whipping Angela.

"Who the devil are this two chihuahuas? I told you to go receive the Queen's messenger!"

"Chihuahua.....?" We said with pokerfaces.

"Can't you even do a simple thing like that, Angela?!" Henry Barrymore continued whipping her.

That looked really painful. I said quietly, "Stop it, please!"

Ciel who was right next to me heard it and I think both Sebastian and Angela heard it with their super hearing.

"Sebastian."Ciel ordered. Sebastian grabbed Henry Barrymore's hand and stopped him from whipping Angela anymore.

"What are you doing, you filthy Doberman?!" Trying to bite my head off, are you?! Let me go!" But no matter how much he struggled, he coundn't get out of Sebastian's firm grip.

"I ordered him to do it." Ciel spoke up.

"What?!" He turned to look this way.

"It sounds as though you got my letter. I'm Ciel Phantomhive." Ciel sat down on a chair and I pulled the chair next to him out and sat down as well.

"You mean to tell me a little toy poodle like you is Her Majesty's messenger?!"

"You disapprove of small breeds, Lord Henry?"

"Don't judge a book by its cover, Lord Henry." I said in a polite manner, but it had obvious effect on Henry Barrymore.

"Tch. You are Earl Phantomhive, the Queen's messenger?"

"Precisely." Ciel replied.

"And who is this women?"

"I am his informant." I said, again in a polite manner.

Henry Barrymore came over and sat down on a chair at the opposite side of the table. "Angela, bring us some tea! Now!"

"Yes, master." Angela bowed and hurried out of the room.

"So what do you two want with me?" Barrymore asked rudely.

"We came with a proposal from the Queen." Ciel answered.

"A proposal? What is it?"

"The Queen propose that this village is to be turned a health resort for Her Majesty."

"What!? You are joking, right?" Barrymore said loudly.

"Lord Phantomhive is not a person who jokes. We are being very serious." I said.

"Sebastian." Ciel said. Sebastian quietly handed Barrymore some papers with information of the proposal from the Queen on it. Barrymore took it and started going through them. While he was doing this, Angela came back into the room with a cart of tea. She tried serving the tea to us but her hands were bruised and shaking a lot.

"Are you alright?" I whispered to Angela.

She looked at me with an expression that I coundn't quite make out what it was. The best I could describe it was like a mixture of confusion and shock. She nodded shakily.

"I'll take care of this." Sebastian whispered to her. Angela nodded weakly and stepped back, allowing Sebastian to step in and serve the tea.

Why does everyone have to be such good actors in this universe? First it was Madam Red and Grell pretending to be innocent, now it is Angela pretending to be weak and helpless. But once again, I was acting as well, pretending not to know what was gonna happen, it wasn't to hard tho.

Barrymore finally finished reading the papers. He set the papers down on the table and crossed his arms, "Its not worth discussing. No matter what the terms, i can't sell this place."

"Reason?" I asked.

"The curse."

"Curse?"

"The village has lived alongside its dogs since ancient times. Those who interfere with it are cursed. by a fearsome scourge..." Barrymore stood up emphasizing his words, "Even Her Majesty cannot change that. Great calamity befalls anyone who goes against the Barrymore family!"

"Oh, interesting."Ciel said as he smirked.

"What?!" Barrymore was shocked by what he said as he was expecting everyone to be scared of tis so called 'curse'.

"Let's have a nice close look at this 'calamity'." Ciel sat back and stared back at Barrymore confidently. Barrymore looked really pissed off. He look like he was about to punch a baby in the face.

I took a sip of my tea. I sat back and smirked. Lol, Barrymore's face. Good one Ciel. "I am quite interested in this so call 'curse' too. Why don't you tell us more about it?"

"It is the great demon hound!"

"The demon hound?"

"I'm not sure of you two chihuahuas will be able to take such scary story."

"Please stop calling us chihuahuas, and what do you take us, the Queen's messenger, for?" What, did he think that we were just some pesky twelve years old like everyone who is younger than you on the internet or something? Oh, wait, Ciel is twelve, never mind.

"Ha! The great demon hound brings is the one who brings calamity upon the village. Those who defy me of the Barrymore, shall be punished by the demon hound!" He exclaimed.

I laughed, "Oh really? Are you sure you are not just making it up so that people of the village fear you and thus obey you?"

"How dare are you speak against the demon hound?! If you keep that foul mouth of yours, you will be punished by the demon hound!"

"Is that reallywhat's going to happen? If either of us are harmed in any way the Queen will most likely be informed, and the blame will be yours." I said calmly.

"You........!" Barrymore was lost for words.

"Enough said. Lord Barrymore, I will give you sometime to think over it. Just remember one thing, in no situation would you want to deny Her Majesty's proposal." Ciel said. I noticed that the whole time Angela was staring at me for some reason.

"Tch. Angela, show them to their rooms!"

"Yes master." She bowed and turned to us, "If you would please follow me." Me and Ciel stood up and followed Angela. So did Sebastian after us.

She first showed Ciel to his room already with his luggage in there. Sebastian went in with him to do what ever there do in the room(no yaoi intended!). She then opened the door of the room next to Ciel's fro me. My stuff was already in there as well.

"Thank you very much, Angela. Oh, are you feeling alright? Your bruises aren't looking quite good, it must have hurt. Let me see."

"No, I'm fine! i appreciate your kindness, milady. But, really, I'm fine." Angela said not looking in my eyes and trying to cover her bruises with her sleeves. I grabbed her hands gently, and nodded to reassure her. She eventually relaxed and let me took hold of her cold hands.

Her skin was perfect. It looked like it was glowing slightly and she was pale as the winter snow. it was silky to the touch. However, all the bruises on it ruined it. I gently stroked a bruise with my thumb, and she jerked her hands back slightly.

"I'm sorry, did I hurt you?" I let her hands go, "You really shouldn't let Henry Barrymore continue abusing you like this. He is....filthy." When I said that, she raised her hands as if she wanted to touch my face. But then she looked down and quickly walked away. I shrugged and went to unpack.

After a bit, Sebastian knocked on the door and said, "Master Ciel wishes to speak to you."

"Kay, I'll be there in a sec!" I opened the door and followed Sebastian to Ciel's room. He was sat on the sofa so I went to the sofa opposite him and sat down.

"What do you think of this case so far? And what of the 'curse'?" Ciels asked.

"I think that the disappearance of the villagers is related to this 'curse;"

"How so? This curse cannot be real, can it?"

"I think the demon hound could very much be real. If demon and shinigami exist, why can't a demon hound be real?"

"True. Sebastian, does creature such as demon hounds exist?"

"Yes, they do exist, my lord. They are hounds from hell. However they don't act on their own, so some higher being must be controlling them."

"If there is really a demon hound, it is possible that Henry Barrymore is controlling it to do his bidding?" Ciel said.

"No, demon hounds only obey those who it think is respectable. And I don't think Barrymore is a very respectable person." I said.

"You sure do know about supernatural beings." Ciel remarked.

"Yea, I do. I actually think that Henry Barrymore is using this demon hound rumor to scare people of the village into obeying him. I think it's just a bluff of his."

"Yes, I have thought of that possibility as well, and I also think that it is the most likely out of all." Ciel agreed.

"However, this is just a theory. We can't make a move until some evident comes up.But if what we think is true, Barrymore will probably make a move soon. He wounldn't harm you as you are to report to the Queen, but he might hurt of kill someone in the village using the name of the demon hound." I said.

"Then we should wait for it. Evident is likely to turn up. The easiest time to make a mistake is when you are on the move." Ciel said. I nodded and Sebastian escorted me back to my room.

After I unpack, I decided to check on the servants to see how they were doing. I wondered around the place until I finally came across the room where the servants gathered. As I walked near it I heard Mey-Rin say, "This is amazing! You impress me, Angela, yes!"

"Nonsense. I'm utterly unsatisfactory..."

I walked in and they all look at me when they realized I was in here.

"Hey! How is everyone doing?" I said cheerfully.

"We are doing good, yes!" Mey-Rin answered for the three of them.

"What about you, Angela?" I asked her.

She looked stunned for some reason, but she quickly shock it off and answered, "Yes, milady. I am well. Thank you."

"May I?" I asked Mer-Rin. She moved up making space for me to sit on the bench next to her. I sat opposite Angela.

"So, what are you guys talking about?"

"We were just saying how Angela is amazing, being the only maid in the whole estate!" Finny said.

"Wow, that is indeed amazing." I said.

"I am really not worthy of the praise." Angela said.

"Ah! It's time! We need to go see Mr. Sebastian!" Bard exclaimed. They all hurried away leaving me and Angela alone in the room.

Angela was staring at me again. I didn't get why she was doing this. But oh well, if I was gonna ask her a favor, I would have to make friend with her first.

"What do you do around here normally?" I asked.

"I clean and tidy the estate. I serve my master and I also cook."

"If you need any help with the cooking, I can always help. I am actually quite good at it."

"You are too kind."

I smiled.

Angela looked as if she was fighting with herself whether to say something or not, "You......you are..so.....p...kind... and so....p...pure..."

Pure? Me? Wow the pure angel thinks I am pure!? How?

"Pure? What do you mean?" I asked.

"I sense nothing in you."

"Nothing? You mean no impurity of something?"

Angela shock her head, "No, I can't sense anything in you...."

"What do you mean?"

She gave me an answer, "I can't sense a soul. You have nothing in you...thus making you the purest human I have ever came across."

"Human? What, are you not a human or something?" I pretended not to know and tried to get her to admit it herself.

She sighed, "I guess I'll have to tell you... I am an angel."

"An angel? Really...? Prove it."

She closed her eyes and she started to glow. She was soon surrounded in the whitest light I have ever seen. Two massive wings gracefully spreaded out of her back. In her angel from she wore a white dress with a white choker. The bottom half of her dress seemed to be made of feathers. The glow died down and she was in her complete angel from. She stretched her wings to the full extend. They were both at least as long as the height of a man. She looked even paler than she was and her skin seemed to be radiant. Her violet eyes were glistening and mesmerizing. She was beautiful.

"Wow." was all I could say. Even though I knew she was an angel, I still counldn't help but be amazed by her immense beauty in her angel from.

Meanwhile, Sebastian was serving Ciel tea in Ciel's room. He suddenly froze causing Ciel to look at him.

"What's wrong, Sebastian." Ciel asked putting down his book.

"I thought I sensed something faintly...something I have never sensed before... I can't quite make out what it is as it's new to me. But I 'm sure it's nothing. I am sorry, young master, I will continue with my work." Sebastian continued to serve Ciel tea and Ciel just shrugged and went back to reading his book.

Angela smiled at me and she took hold of my hands. I noticed that her bruises were gone. She touched my arm where the cut by Madam Red was. Light emitted from where her hand was on my cut. I felt warmth at where she was touching me. She let go of my hand and I unwrapped the bandage on my arm. The cut was gone. However, a scar was left at where my cut used to be. I moved my arm around and it didn't hurt any more.

"This is amazing. How do you do this?"

"Angels all have the power of healing. However, normally no scars would be left after an angel's healing, but there is one, which is odd"

"Are all angels like this?"

"All angels could heal, yes. But... not all angels are like me."

"What do you mean?"

"To be more precise, I am a fallen angel."

"A fallen one? But you seem nice."

"I disobeyed God a long time ago, and He made me fall to the human world. The compensation for getting back into heaven is to purify people."

"Is that why you love pure things?"

"Yes. You are the purest thing have seen so far in the filthy human world. You have not a single piece of dirt in you as you have no soul...for some reason which I don't care about as long as you are so pure. You are unlike all the other human with all the filth and dirt in their souls."

"Um..thank you? I'm glad that you think I'm 'pure'. And...there's a thing...." Okay, this is my chance...

"What is it, my dear?"

"I have a friend... she is on the brink of death because a shinigami attempted to kill her even though she was not on the To Die list. Another friend of mine has given her a poisonous liquid which is keeping her alive for the moment. but she will die soon. So...please will you help her?"

Angela thought for a moment and said, "Those shinigamis really irritate me with the way they do things. Normally I wouldn't save a filthy human. However, for the sake of you, my pure one, I will do it for once."

I felt like a great weight had been lifted of my heart. I was so relieved that she was willing to help because that was my only hope of saving Madam Red. If she refuses, then all my effort so far would have been for nothing. "Oh thank you so much! You don't know how happy I am right now. I can't think of any thing to repay you with."

Angela pulled me into an embrace, to which I was surprised about, "You don't need to repay me with anything. Just stay pure."

--------------------------------------------

Me: *wipes sweat* Woo that went better than expected!

Angela: I wish everything was as pure as you. If it was, the world would be perfect. *starts stroking my hands*

Me: I appreciate the fact that you think I should be the role model of the whole world but yea... that's a bit creepy... just a bit.... By the way, I have a question for you. What is heaven like in this world?

Angela: Not allowed to tell you.

Me: Oh come on! Pleeeeaaasssee!!! I am so curious!!!! *puppy eyes*

Angela: I am very sorry.

Me: Fine. Just do me a favor. find the lesson of the chapter.

Angela: "Human-Soul=Pure".

Me: Really?Wow you are obsess with pureness. Fine I'll go with it since this is your chapter, Angela.

Angela: *Suddenly turns into Barrymore maid form*.

Me: Angela, do you wanna do the inspiring quote?

Maid Angela: Yes, milady.  "I don't believe in God. There's no proof he exist. In a world where there isn't even proof of the future, the past exists. Even if it's tainted with misunderstandings and delusions, if the people themselves believe in it, the past is the truth." --Izaya Orihara, Durarara.

Me: Thanks, Angela. That wa very well done.

Maid Angela: You are too kind.

Me: Reader-tan, If you have read as far as this, and I don't mean just this chapter, but the whole book so far, you do not know how much i love you. Please vote if you liked this chapter, it would make my week. And once again thank you so much, reader-tan, for sticking with me. Have a good day!
