Appearance
Personality
Aenon tends to come off a bit as a spoiled and all-knowing brat, and his background as the second prince of Cerrejon certainly lends to that image. He can be overly critical and sarcastic, not at all interested in playing nice when he dislikes someone for one reason or another. However, Aenon is incredibly knowledgeable in regards to magic, the true histories, and poisons (both in treating and making them). He often acts standoff-ish and petulant, especially in political events as he's often forced to come to them when he'd rather be reading or tending to his pet snakes. Despite his often childish behavior, he does have a lot of compassion and loyalty towards his family and country; he is willing to do anything it takes to protect the people he cares about (even play nice if he must, though he will do so through bared teeth). He comes off as a lazy bastard, but he's secretly working hard to make sure the citizens of Cerrejon are protected from the threats of nefarious demons at one border and the zealous saints at the other that call for the deaths of Cerrejon's more monstrous populous. He despises people who blindly follow the orders and beliefs of their superiors, especially when it's to harm non-human species. He thinks any notion of humans being the only worthy race is a ridiculous idea; all species are worthy of living their lives, even demons... so long as they aren't harming his subjects. He treats betrayal as a sin punishable through a slow, agonizing death, no matter the reason.
There are times where his bratty mask of indifference falls away, especially on occasions where he is proven wrong or is otherwise made to feel guilty for something he's said or done. He will often try to fix the issue, admitting his faults and genuinely wanting to make up for what he did
Summed up, Aenon is a stubborn and egotistical individual with a very, very, very hidden heart of gold.
Backstory
Aenon is the second prince of Cerrejon, one of the few remaining monarchies still existing in Alamea, especially with such an ancient claim to the throne. Aenon has always been proud to be from Cerrejon, especially of his heritage of being the descendant of their country's founders: the first lamia and embodiment of water, Neith, or as she is currently known, Diana Titanoboa. Due to this pride, he's always been keenly aware of the truth of past events and histories, as while other countries have made their own narratives, Cerrejon has always made sure their records are actually historically accurate (which helps when you have a supervisor who's essentially been there for every moment, Nubia to be exact). He's also always been accepting of all species, human or non-human, though he is easily irritated when one species claims to be superior to the others, whether through morals or talents.
He's also fine being the second prince of Cerrejon, as while there's no rules stating he can't succeed the throne, he'd rather leave that responsibility to his older brother; plus he'd rather not fight his brother over the kingship, as he cares a lot for his older brother and has looked up to him as a role model ever since they were little. Besides, he'd much rather help the citizens of Cerrejon directly instead of through politics and such, often through an alias, and he has no patience to spare for diplomats and leaders of other countries. He very rarely gets along with many authority figures, as he believes many are inherently corrupt based off their actions. He tends to stay within the Royal Archives, one of the oldest existing collections of knowledge in the world kept under lock and key of the Titanoboa family, studying and practicing magic or in his room with his pet snakes when he's not out on the streets, causing some lighthearted mischief or assisting his people.
Powers/Abilities
As a male descendant of a lamia, he cannot turn into a snake or produce venom through his nails, but he does have access to some of the other powers that lamias possess. He's able to practice blood magic and can use blood to both control and kill others, as well as become stronger and more deadly after consuming blood. He can also use his own blood to form weapons, though this can make him weak if he uses this aspect of blood magic for too long. He also practices illusion magic, able to make himself look any way he wishes and to also construct illusory constructs that can even feel real when they come into contact with other people. He has superhuman strength, speed, durability, and senses. He also occasionally gets glimpses of the future, often at the cost of severe headaches and only for events that involve him. He can only control lightning-based attacks and magic through his magical weapon, The Thorn Halberd
Weapons
Aenon uses an enchanted weapon called The Thorn Halberd, or Thorn as he often calls it, after he found it in the Palace Archives, hidden behind a panel. It has the ability to call forth thunder and lightning and when used in battle, leaves scorched marks in both flesh and earth when its used. It can be used as both a more hands-on weapon during combat and to use lightning attacks that spread out as jagged bolts, striking targets with ease.
Aenon has also been known to used daggers laced with poison, swords similar to the scimitar and khopesh blades, and ones fashioned out of his own blood.
Weaknesses
While he is more durable than most humans thanks to his lamia bloodline, he is still vulnerable to the usual weaknesses of humans. He also has a vulnerability/allergy to silver, which can nullify many of his powers.
Other
Aenon's older brother Dracea would ascend the throne after their father was killed in a battle dealing with demons, resulting in the 16-year old Dracea to take the helms of the kingdom with the help of their mother, Lady Chiara Rossi (of the Rossi family, human aristocrats from Odol).
Unbeknownst to many, including himself, Aenon is actually the reincarnation of another Titanoboan prince, Prince __________, who would have been his grand-uncle if he had not been killed at the hands of a small group of radical Elocians even after he had helped saved many Elocians from a demonic insurgency plot. The reason why his name is unknown is due to a curse that was cast by one of the members of the radical Elocians for the people of Cerrejon to forget he ever existed in order to prevent the Titanoboa royal family from declaring war on Elocia due to their f-up. It is due to this past life that he seems to have even more of a dislike of Elocians, even though he tries to not let this cloud his judgment when meeting with some of them.
