Ymir sneaked into the darker and deeper sides of the tower while the others rested. Some time has passed now and she wanted to see what was around to drink. She didn't care if the others were against drinking at a time like this, she was craving it. She jumped slightly at the sound of the door to the storage room opening, and looked up to see Reiner standing over her.
She smirked, no a least bit urked at being caught. She held the small candle resting on the plate carefully, observing the muscular male. He frowned down at her. "Ymir, what are you doing?"
Her lips curled up in a sly smirk. "Oh it's you Reiner, what, sneaking up on girls with dirty intentions at night?"
"What a shocker, I didn't think I looked like a guy who was interested on women, oh and by the way...you don't look like a girl who's interested in guys either." He replied with a small smile of his own. The comment surprised Ymir. She would never think Reiner would have been gay. He was too manly, Armin looked like a better candidate for the title.
"Oh really...Iv'e been searching for something to fill up my stomach, it does seem like this will be our last dinner so..." She wasn't completely lying. She was hungry as well.
Reiner stayed silent for a while, then sighed. "About Connie's village, you did all you could to drop the subject didn't you...I want you to keep it up, so that he wouldn't need to worry about his family."
Ymir frowned, she hated being relied on, so she acted nonchalant. "huh? What are ya talkin about? Oh here's something." She held up a can. "This will do, although I can't say i'm all that fond of herring."
Reiner let out a small chuckle." Here let me take a look at it."
ymir hesitated, eyes widening slightly, before handing the can to him. Reiner observed the item, tilting it around slightly. "Canned food eh? wait...what are these characters? I can't read them at all, do they say herring? You sure can read them with no problem huh Ymir..." Reiner's face had gone dark, Ymir froze. They stared at each other in realization, until someone shouted, breaking the silence.
"Everyone wake up, get to the roof this instance!" They broke into a run outside the closet and rushed to the middle of the tower, where everyone was at. They made their way up the spiraling stairs until they got to the top, the blasting night wind caressed their faces as they stood at the peak of the tower, staring down at the titans below them. They were so many...they had no chance to escape at this rate.
The blonde squad leader trembled. "The moon finally emerged from the clouds...that's when I saw them." She breathed out in fear.
"But how?!" Reiner muttered in shock. "How can they still move? It's been a few hours after sunset."
Christa shuddered, face contorted in confusion. "What is going on..." She spoke out slowly.
Connie interrupted her." Look over there! It's huge, just what is that?" They followed the direction his finger was pointing in and stared. It was a titan covered in fur...the ape, with long arms and legs, and the height of a seventeen meter class. "A titan? But it looks more like a beast, right?" Connie turned to glance at Reiner and frowned at the strange expression the blonde wore. He turned his attention back to the ape titan. "It's heading towards the wall..." they could hear it's retreating footsteps as it moved.
The tower shook, a titan had slammed against it and made it vibrate with the impact. They gasped and held on to the sides, gazing down at what was making all the noise. Several smaller titans were breaking in through the door to the tower. "You gotta be kidding me! Why the hell are titans coming in from the front door?!" The squad leader yelled. He stepped up and pulled out his swords. "Doncha fuck with me! I didn't even get to drink wine all because of you freaks!"
The woman behind him nodded, determined. "The rest of you rookies step back, from now on this is our job." She looked back at the younger lot, then turned and took out her own swords. "Here we go!" They took off and flew towards the titans below them, ready for combat.
...
It has been eighteen hours after the titan breach, and Hanji was getting Anxious. She rode along side Levi quickly, with her own team around her with nothing but torches to light the way. She held a map in her hand, looking over it beneath the torch as she rode. "To the southwest there is an old castle right next to the wall, if we can get there we can scale the wall from on top of it, it's called castle Utgard, that's where we're heading!"
"Roger!" A nearby member said. Levi stayed quiet. He had other plans.
"Actually I might have to take my leave, I'll go back to headquarters and get a search team for Sakura, I trust you can maintain the squad Hanji." He said quickly.
Hanji smirked. "Sure, be safe!" She watched as he rode away with his own torch in hand, to the north. She knew full well he was worried, and he had good reason to be. She was a useful asset, they needed to find her fast. They continued riding in silence without the formal captain with Eren, Mikasa, and Armin.
...
It was dark when I awoke. My mouth was gagged and I couldn't move much, I was bound, including my legs. There was a searing sharp pain on my temple, it hurt like hell. I turned my head sideways and saw through the moonlit window that Sasha was tied up in the same sofa she stayed sleeping at. So I was back at the house...and it seemed I was laying on the table. I twisted my body to roll over and fell on the floor with a loud thud. I winced at the slight pain the impact brought but swallowed to roll towards Sasha. I had to try to wake her, I had no idea where Bertholdt went so I had to be quick. I sat up and wiggled my feet. I was bound with duct tape...lots of it. I rested my head against her arm and shoved. She didn't respond, she was still out cold. couldn't even speak to her. Not in the state I was in, with my mouth gagged. I put effort into resting my chin on the seat of the couch to prop myself up so I could stand, and fell in surprise at the sudden burst of light that filled the room. I felt hands grab me by the shoulders and lift me up in a sitting position. Bertholdt stared at me with a very blank stare.
"Shh, I'm not gonna hurt you or Sasha, I want to take you back to my village." He muttered quickly, I could hear the nervousness in his voice. I squirmed under his touch as he held my chin. "See? I'm willing to forgive you after you hurt me...I like you, please understand." He was a creep, of course I didn't want to understand, I just wanted to get the hell away from him. He wrapped his arms around my waist and hoisted me up over his shoulder. I could see Sasha's sleeping body as he took me outside into the cold rain. It was pouring as he set me down on my stomach onto his horse. My pink bangs drooped with the rain as he hopped on the horse as well, behind me to keep me steady. I frowned and squirmed violenty, breathing heavily. I had to escape no matter what.
"Stop it! Do I have to knock you out again?" Bertholdt hissed. I flinched and shook my head. "Soon you'll learn to like me, you might even like it in my village, I'm sure you will." He patted my back and I shivered in disgust as the horse broke into a run. I racked my brain for ideas to escape but found none. I was helpless, I needed someone to come. I wanted Levi to come. I kept my head down as we rode, Bertholdt kept a firm grip on my back to hold me in place so I wouldn't suddenly roll off. An idea hit me. I didn't care if I got hurt in the process, I needed to buy time. With effort, I arched my back up and thrust my body sideways. My body was thrown off the horse and I landed on the wet grass with a thud, rolling for a while before coming to a stop. I could hear the horse stop and turn around, causing my to spring up and pathetically attempt to hop away. It was almost funny, if not for the dire situation I was in. I felt Bertholdt sigh and grab me to pull me over his shoulder again. "What did i just say?!" He growled out. I shook my head violently as he set me on the horse once again. I mumbled out incoherent words that came out as muffles. He studied me in the rain for a moment before ripping the tape from my mouth and taking out the rag.
"I-I'm cold..." I whispered, shivering extra hard to win his pity. He frowned and stayed silent for a moment, then did a strange half-smile.
"That's cause you're wearing a skirt silly." He said warmly. He almost looked innocent, but I knew better.
"Can we go back...to get some pants? Please? Back to headquarters, real quick, it could be the rose headquarters, I just don't want to be sick..." I whispered with feeling. He stayed silent for a moment with a blank expression. I couldn't really tell what he was thinking.
"You might try to escape, I'm not stupid." He muttered.
"No! I want to go with you...I like you too." I replied with fake smile.
"Really?" He asked, with bright eyes and a small blush gracing his cheeks.
I nodded and hoped he would believe me. It was my only chance of escaping." Yes...Sorry I kicked you, I was just scared."
He studied me before adding. "Erwin thinks your pretty too you know, when you were swimming, I got jealous, and tore up your clothes in a rage, I'm sorry about that too, we're even now."
I could have screamed. This total perverted freak..it really was him all along. How long has he been planning this anyway? He thought he could just kidnap me? Well he thought wrong, as soon as I got out of these bindings I was going to take him on. "It's ok..." I lied through clenched teeth.
He smiled and rubbed my back. "Ok, I knew you would understand." He steered the horse around and my body jumped as we headed over to headquarters. Good...everything was coming according to plan. Now I just needed to be patient. I closed my eyes and winced as Bertholdt gagged me again and spread tape against my mouth. I hoped I would see Levi soon...I missed him. I felt the rain hit my back as we rode off. I was able to gain Bertholdts trust, I just hoped the headquarters wasn't abandoned, but there was a really good chance it might be. After all...with all the trouble the breach caused, every soldier must be rushing to the front lines right now, and Levi...I just wanted him to be safe. Not that the short man needed luck, he was strong.
We rode in silence for a while before Bertholdt cursed under his breath. His arm was getting tired while holding the torch light up, and he kept glancing around nervously. Was he sensing something? I tensed as his fingers slid under my blouse to pat me. I could see the desire and lust in his eyes. "We're almost there." He whispered. He wasn't lying, I could see familiar trees and roads, the same paths we came from when Mike was still with us. Headquarters wasn't far now. I only nodded since I couldn't talk at the moment. He may have been trying to be gentle, but the least he could do was ungag me so I could talk.
'you might scream, he knows that' I thought bitterly. I hated feeling this helpless, it pissed me off. I wanted to reinvent the time where my foot connected to his face. For now...I could only relish the memory as we rode in complete silence in the darkness of the rain.
