Meal Time Chats
Jack's POV
"So Wilford, have you found your soulmate?" I asked.
Felix's actions caught my eye and I looked over, seeing him franticly shaking his head and moving his hand by his neck to signal 'No'.
"No, I don't have any words. I have a roommate though." Wilford replied.
Felix dropped his hands and his panicked expression turned to a confused one, "Really? Since when? Last time I checked you were a lone wolf." Felix interjected.
"His name's Virus, sweet guy. Real quiet though, spends a lot of time watching movies."
"He kinda sounds like a slob." I added, Wilford looked over at me, chuckling.
"Actually he's not, rather clean if I'm being truthful. He keeps to himself most of the time, often talks to me about robotics."
"So he's smart and stuff?" Felix asked.
Wilford replied with a nod, "Yeah, he doesn't have words either."
"So you guys are just chilling at your place?" I asked.
"Yeah."
Soon our food came. The steak sizzled and filled the air with a delicious fragrance. The soup, salad, and Felix's fries arrived not long after. I smiled.
"Who wants how much of what?" Wilford asked.
"I'll take the soup if that's fine with everyone else." They both nodded and slid the bowl of soup over to me. I smiled again and thanked them. I took a spoonful of the soup, blowing on it and watching the steam swirl off it. I ate the spoonful of soup, it was french onion soup. The cheese was all melty and stringy.
I ate while Felix and Wilford debated over who would get the steak, even though it was big enough for the both of them. I took a fry from the basket and dipped it into my soup. An odd combo, but a good one at that. They finally realized how big the steak was and they spilt it.
I chuckled at their actions, "It took you guys that long to figure out a stake?"
They looked over at me and nodded. We all laughed. I was having a better time than I thought.
"You wanna take the salad home to Mark?" Felix asked me.
I nodded and brought the plate closer to me, just making sure they wouldn't eat it.
"Who's Mark?" Wilford asked me.
"Oh Mark? He's my soulmate. At least according to our words."
"Yeah, but what's he like?" Wilford prodded again.
"He looks a lot like you. Doesn't have your accent though. He's a real sweetheart and downright gorgeous. Nerdy, a goofball, a lot like me I guess."
"Well duh, you're soulmates. Why wouldn't you be similar?" Felix stated. I chuckled at his comment.
"I dunno."
We kept eating and chatting for a while, but Wilford's phone soon rang and he had to excuse himself. He told us Virus had needed him back home. We waved goodbye as he left.
Felix and I then packed up the leftovers and left, both of us heading home.
