Kuroko ~

Kise-kun and I both walked to the roof top. Seeing that we're the only ones there, I walked towards the middle and stared at the infinite blue sky right above my head.

I raised my hand up and tried to reach what is outreached. The clouds look so fluffy that I want to get a hold of them and shove it in my mouth.

I inhaled and sighed within a second. I wish Akashi-kun can see this with me.

I wonder... How is he? Why isn't he here?

The taller guy placed his hand on my shoulder, "I know you're worried as much as I do but... No one even knows where he is right now. Let's just hope he's safe." He gave me a warm smile.

Why didn't he even call in sick? He's not a kind of person who abandons his teammates! He certainly does not leave his works behind either. Then, what happened to him?

I turned around to avoid Kise-kun's sight, "Tch..."

"Huh," he said with a happy tone, "I guess the love birds are more worried for each other."

Love birds? I do not think that kind of thing will happen between me and Akashi-kun.

"Now tell me Kurokocchi, what happened yesterday? Tell me every single detail you remember." He sat down on the shade and leaned against the wall as I did the same but facing him. "After I felt lightheaded because of the practice, I woke up to see Akashi-kun inside the nurse's office with the lady operating. He lectured me for a bit and started 'seducing' me as you said a while ago. I felt kind of strange..."

"BAM!" Kise-kun clapped his hands together and stood up, "You don't need to explain everything because I know the answer. The answer is quite simple, really. You became in heat because of Akacchi and that his touch made you sensitive, am I right? Then, simple as that, you are in love with him."

"But I thought you knew that from the start?"

"I am sure; I was just double checking stuff." He smiled at me like he was the happiest person in the world. His perfect teeth was shown, he was smiling so bright that his eyes also squinted. He sat back down and hugged his knees while staring at the blue sky. I did the same. I can still feel that he is happy...

"You know Kurokocchi," he leaned his head backwards to rest, "I'm really happy for you and Akacchi. I don't know why but every time I see a person in love with someone, it feels like the emptiness in your heart is filled with happiness even if its not you who fell in love."

I looked back at him and his smile still glued to his face. Kise-kun closed his eyes and took deep breaths and when he took his last exhale, it sounded like he was frustrated.

I tilted my head in confusion, "Kise-kun?"

His smile grew wider and wider as if he was just forcing himself to smile to hide his sadness, "Jealousy is always getting in the way, huh?"

Making himself happy both inside and out just because he was jealous of something?... Someone?

I reached my hand out to his shoulder to comfort him but he scooted at the side and looked away from me, "Kise-kun?"

"I'm such a foolish guy," he ran his fingers through his golden, perfect blonde locks, "to be jealous about something little."

He forced himself to smile again but in a matter of seconds he bit his lip and warm, fresh tears kept pouring from his eyes. "I feel left alone, crushed, defeated. I feel pain when there's no apparent reason why. I feel abandoned and miserable. I always ask myself why I must feel this way."

His lonely eyes stared at my blue ones. The liquid kept pouring out from his eyes traveling down to his cheeks onto his chin. With his deeply wounded heart, he still forced himself to smile at me, "I'm happy for you Kurokocchi, I really am."

I still have no idea why he feels like this but I walked towards him and knelt down. I hugged him placed his head on my shoulder, caressing his back to comfort him. "Thank you for making me realize that I love Akashi-kun. And please don't feel this way; you know you are not alone."

He hugged me tighter and snuggled his head in the crook of my neck, "I know." I felt him smile on my skin, a true smile, "Thank you... For everything."

I nodded and patted his back.

"...I just want to be loved by someone." Kise-kun mumbled.

Akashi ~

"Seijuro---h!" Jino called from the kitchen. I let out a growl and gave him the world's deadliest glare even though he can't see it.

"Don't talk to me like we're close, Jino."

"Yet you're the one who calls me by my first name and I'm years older than you..." He mumbled to himself, taking the sauce to the noodles and pouring it to the pan. He placed on a "I'm pissed off but I can't do anything about it" face.

I hit a spot on his neck and he slowly crumbled down, holding his neck in pain. He cussed a few times.

The floor was now covered with unfinished sauce.

"Look what you've done!" He raised his fists at me but stopped at mid air. He sighed and shook his head.

"Just because you're my cousin." He took a rag and dropped it on the floor. He wiped some of the sauce and rinsed the rag, "Just because you're younger than me." He did the same process again and again.

"Why don't you satisfy yourself right now and torture me?"

He dropped the rag from his hands with a happy, satisfied face and rushed over to my head, pulling my hair down to the sauce-covered floor, "If only I can do this to you... But, no. I'm too kind okay."

"Heh," I fixed my hair to the side and straighten my posture, "I was right."

I saw smoke coming from his ears, I think, "Next time, I won't hold back, Sei-" He sighed and slouched, "Akashi."

I let out an aggressive laugh while lightning bolts appeared on my back, "I warned you, didn't I?"

He pulled himself a chair and sat down. He took off his apron and hung it on the side, "Since you ruined our lunch, let's go to the nearby restaurant?"

Where Tetsuya always buy his favourite drink? "Why not go to the convenience store instead?" I simply said.

I'm not hoping for a no, am I?

"Uh, why would you rather eat food out of the convenience store when there's a nearby restaurant that actually sells cooked food?" He placed on a confused face... Or more like "what the actual fuck are you thinking?" face. "And besides, I don't want to cook again for you."

I looked at the wall clock since his answer was a no.

7:54PM

So... The basketball practice isn't done yet.

You don't even know if he went to the practice or not.

Huh? Why would he skip practice? Because of me, the former captain, unable to attend the drills and classes anymore? Ha, there is no way Tetsuya would do that. He loves basketball more than anyone else.

He loves basketball more than you, you know.

But what if he actually skips and go to the convenience store instead?

But he prefers his shake than his popsicles...

What if the others are joining too?

Mentally cursing and threatening myself, I came up with a decision. "Fine." Why am I disagreeing with my own guts? "The restaurant it is."

I heard a loud thump on my chest that made me a bit more shaken.

Even though Tetsuya is going to the restaurant, I just have to avoid him, right?

I'm always right.

--

"I'm lying to myself." Akashi thought and ran his long, slender fingers to his hair. He tugged a handful and pulled it down. Damping his lips using his tongue, he looked at the mirror as if he was communicating with himself through eye-contact.

Flattening out his plain, long-sleeved shirt, he let out a quiet chuckle in satisfaction and walked outside his room.

He knows. He knows Tetsuya is going to be there and he does not plan to avoid him. He decided it after having a long conversation with himself. Arguing and debating whether to finally talk to Tetsuya and apologize for leaving without any contact with the others. This is his final goodbye and he wants it to be formal and say it in front of the person he admires. He doesn't want to be betrayed and he won't betray the love of his life.

He carefully thought about this and finally came up with the answer that can only be done sooner. If Kuroko did not end up there, Akashi will still expect him to come to the restaurant. Akashi swore to himself that he won't back up and fear the thought that Kuroko will finally be separated from him.

Jino and Akashi left the house and walked in the sidewalk. Akashi didn't mutter a word to Jino, making their surroundings feel tensed and uncomfortable.

This is unusual. Jino thought.

As soon as they arrived at the restaurant, they stood in line and waited until it was their turn.

Isn't it a bit too early to say goodbye? That question kept bugging him since they left the apartment. His guts says that it's going to be a indescribable mistake, but then he swore to himself that he wouldn't back out for both of their sake.

With Akashi's loss of appetite, he only ordered fries and didn't even bother to ask for a drink. Jino noticed it and he was curious and worried for his younger cousin. Akashi would pick a large size salad and a healthy organic juice but instead he ordered a bit of junk food.

With a sign of luck, the front entrance opened and made the bell rang meaning someone went inside. "Good evening, ma'am,"

Akashi froze at his spot.

What is this bad feeling? I don't even know if it’s him! And besides, the woman said it's a female!

"...sir!" The woman continued and greeted the pair with a smile.

Akashi stood there holding his food and his back turned to them. I've felt this presence before... No way, it can't be-?!

"Akashi-kun?!" The high-pitched voice said. Wait, Momoi?

Akashi waited for a second for pass and cautiously turned around to face them.

He saw his precious lover holing hands with the pink haired girl beside him, Momoi.

"Akashi-kun! Where have you been? We were worried sick-"

"What are you two doing here?"

Momoi looked at Tetsuya, who's looking at Seijuro with such surprise in his eyes.

The red-head turned to the side, trying his best to hide his sad expression on his face. His right hand  is on the side, crushing his food in anger without even realizing it.

Seijuro! Pull yourself together! He said to himself mentally.

"Uhm," Momoi scratched her temples in confusion. "We have a date."

Momoi held Kuroko's hand tighter and clung to his arm. Akashi snapped his head up and faced them. Kuroko doesn't look happy because he isn't.

"What the actual fuck?!" Akashi shouted while the crowd became quiet, annoyed of the scene that's happening.

Jino placed his hands on Akashi's shoulder trying to calm him down. But with much difference in strength, Akashi just moved forward and Jino's grip was gone.

Everybody was shocked, including Kuroko. They were shocked not because of what Akashi did, it's because of how he reacted.

What does this boy mean to him? Jino asked himself.

"Excuse me sir, but you have to leave if you're going to continue disrupting." The guard who's holding a walkie-talkie on his hand approached them.

Akashi Seijuro, one of the best Junior High basketball players in Japan, lifted his hand up and threw the crushed food on his right side, landing inside the trash can that is a few meters away without looking.

The shocked crowd now looks at the former captain because of the stunt he did.

"Excuse my intrusion. I sincerely apologize, please forgive me." Akashi bowed his head down, which made Momoi and Kuroko more surprised.

The red-head finally turned around and walks toward the back entrance. Without looking up, he avoided the people who went on his way as fast as he can.

--

Kuroko clenched his fists, "Momoi-san, please get out of my way."

Tears formed on Momoi's eyes. Not only her date was ruined, she also got told by her lover. This hurts like hell, she thought.

"Let's talk tomorrow, okay?" Kuroko said to Momoi. They both nodded in agreement.

Jino looked at Kuroko and mentally cheered for him. Seijuro's older cousin smiled because of how his little cousin was loved the way he love Kuroko.

Kuroko hurried outside also avoiding a few people in front of him. "Akashi-kun!"

His eyes caught the familiar red hair in front of him and tried his best to catch up.

With years of practice finally paying off, Kuroko caught up with Akashi. He kept calling his name but Akashi was too fast for him to grab.

This went on for minutes, until it became an hour. The two of them didn't stop sprinting.

Oddly, Akashi stopped running.

"Akashi-kun, it's not serious-"

He turned around and faced Kuroko.

"Please... stop this." He coldly said.

The two of them saw each other with shocked faces.
