Introduction
It had been a normal day for Josie, just like any other day really; she'd gotten up early in the morning to get herself ready for school, almost missed the bus, had a mental breakdown over the ridiculous amounts of assignments she had to complete and just about ended up done with school by the end of the day. When she got home, she immediately flopped down onto the sofa and started to flick through the channels; boring, boring, childish, ads, boring... In fact, Josie was so lost in the same motion that she didn't hear her mother shout her from upstairs. As soon as she heard the thunder of footsteps flurrying down the stairs, Josie knew she was in trouble.
"Josie Grace Walker, I will not have you sprawl across the settee when your room is such a MESS!"
Josie felt a huge sigh slip from her mouth as she reluctantly dragged herself up from the sofa and rolled her eyes at her mum.
"I've just got in from school, with a gazillion more assignments to complete and coursework weighing down on my shoulders. Am I not allowed the luxury of a break anymore?!"
It was clear that Josie was at the end of her tether, as she proceeded to stomp upstairs to her room and slam the door.
Josie's room was her haven; the only place where she felt she could fully let her hair down and rest after the end of a long, tiring day. Guaranteed, it was a mess, but under the mess, Josie's room was enviable. Her four post black bed was the heart of the room, while the complimentary white washed walls were the ribs, protecting the contents. A glossy white wardrobe ran along one wall, whilst a black chic desk with a burgundy chair were on the opposite wall. The floor was barely visible, but when it was, the chalk coloured floorboards added a rustic touch to the room. Three mini cacti were arranged along the windowsill of the window that hung limply in front of the desk in artsy jet pots. Josie's television was mounted on the wall in front of her bed, which was extremely beneficial in the scheme of things, since she wasn't having to constantly crane her neck to see the tv.
As she eased herself onto the edge of her bed, Josie could feel her anger melting away as she pulled her doodle book out of her drawer next to her bed. Just as she was about to open the book, Josie's phone started to ring, making her jump out of her skin. She glanced over at her phone, which was on top of the drawers. An unknown caller was ringing...
