Chapter Four

"Is she dead?"
"Of course she's bloody not, you idiot. She's just fainted, that's all."
"Are you sure we shouldn't call someone?"
"Yeah that's a great idea, let's phone someone up and get into massive trouble when our parents find out we've lied(!) Good idea there, Anna."
As Josie begun to regain consciousness, she realised her head was throbbing and her ears were swirling around Sarah's words like a washing machine. She slowly opened her eyes to see that the girls had brought her into the forest. Looking around her, Josie realised that she must've been out cold for quite a while; the group had managed to get the tent up and a fire going. It was getting quite dark now, but the fire illuminated the branches and shadows of the empty trees in a way that made Josie feel weak to the stomach.
"Guys?"
"See I told you she was alive! Are you OK, Jo? You sorta fainted on us on our way over here."
"Well, besides the fact that I have a pounding headache, I feel alright I guess," Josie croaked.
"Well if you need anything, let me know and I'll get it out of your rucksack. You can't move too soon, Josie, or you'll be back in the state you were back then."
"Speaking of back then, what actually happened?"
"... I'm not sure. All I remember is that I took one look at this forest and dropped. It makes me feel queasy. Just being here, I get the feeling of a thousand eyes on me."
"That's some creepy stuff, Jo. Alright, we'll let you rest for a while. We're gonna get on with making dinner, so make sure you stay awake for it."
Josie gave a weak nod. She still felt light headed, and hoped that tomorrow would be a better day for the girls, since they'd had such a rubbish start to the celebrations.
They were in for another surprise soon, as the girls weren't alone.
