Chapter 26

Jora watched the dragons with wonder, they were keeping Jon going and that was helping with morale in general. Jon wasn't trying to whine or bitch but he hurt, and he was still so distraught. Jora could understand the loss of his pup, but it was the loss of his forced mate that surprised the alpha. Jon Snow had been kidnapped, sold, raped and impregnated yet he still had feelings for Drogo.

Jora blamed the venom bond.

Jon wasn't sure if all his feelings for Drogo were forced.

They were pushing through the heat, even as the sun was setting the heat was scorching. Jon's body was still healing from the miscarage and the loss of his bond through magic. "Jora." Jon began, his body shaking from the exposure to the elements. "We need to take a break."

"I know, we are coming to a place to stop, worry not, it looks like a cave. Will keep us safe."

Safety was ever wavering, he wasn't sure if they currently were safe. Anyone could find them, anyone could have heard of what had happened to him.

"I- I just had a thought." Jon managed out through panic. "My aunt and uncle are still alive."

Jora stiffened for a moment, and he only prayed they had yet to hear the news of Jon's current predicament. "I will lay down my life for you, 'mega, they will not touch you, nor will I allow any harm to come to you."

"My uncle.. He wanted t.."

"Drogo made sure he couldn't." Jora reminded him, placing his hand on Jon's shoulder softly, their horses trotting side by side. "The only worry is your aunt, but even with her leaving as she did, I doubt she would fulfill his wish."

"What if she does...."

"I'll kill her before she has a chance to hurt you."

"You could have left me too, you were hired by them... Why have you stayed."

"My loyalty was never to the Targaryens, it is with you. My purpose was to protect you, keep you safe, keep you alive. I would never break that, you may be half Targaryen, but you were raised a Stark. I- I would never wish to see harm come upon you and I only wish I could have saved you from the life you were given."

Jon sighed softly under his breath, he was only hopeful Jora would continue to stand by his side even when they reached his home lands. "Would you live in Winterfell?"

"I would live where you were." Jora replied. "Snow or Sun."

"Rain too?" Jon asked with a soft smirk.

"If you grew gills and went into the ocean I would find a way to follow you. If you learned to fly, I would join you in the clouds."

Jon felt his heart beating quickly, Jora would be there and Jora would keep him safe.

"Thank you Jora."

"You are my Khaleesi, my ward, future lady of whatever house you desire. Queen of the North, or Queen of all you desire."

"What if I don't want to be that?" Jon asked, lowering his eyes. "What if I just want to be Jon Snow? Child of Catelyn and Eddard Stark?"

"Then, I will follow you into the unknown. Jon Snow, omega child of the Starks."

Jon gave him a lopsided smile, and Joras heart was bursting. He wanted to express his feelings for Jon, he wanted the omega to know how he truly felt and why he would follow him to the ends of the earth, yet he knew it could all fall apart. He was nothing, he was a lowly knight who had been banished from the seven kingdoms. He had enslaved people just as Jon had been enslaved and yet the omega trusted him with his life. The two finally stopped to make camp, Jon let his 'children' out of their cages to stretch and followed them as they hunted small rodents and bugs.

Jora worked on cooking them up a meal, before he heard the stamping of hooves. "Jon hide." Jora hissed. Jon was quick to call his children to him, they shrouded him like the night as they pushed themselves into the cave they had come upon. Jora quickly put out the fire holding up his blade. Jon kept the dragons silent, tossing them uncooked meat, whispering a lullaby he remembered Catelyn singing to him as a child.

They quickly were eased into slumber, and Jon kept his own blade close, a gift from his late mate. Something to keep himself alive, he peeked out watching Jora hold up his sword ready for an attack, there were shadows of both men and horses. He narrowed his eyes, the sun wavering and the only light about them was the single torch that Jora had kept going for his own safety.

Then Jon saw the banners, he did not know of any tribe or group of people here that had banner men. Jon kept the blade clutched to him, the images upon the banners invisible to him in this light, had his aunt and uncle built an army since they had parted?

Had they found him?

"Come no closer or I will be forced to end you." Jora shouted, the mens frames did not cease, the horse hooves continued forward stomping on the dirt.

Jora raised his sword again, until he dropped it effortlessly, a sigh of relief escaping his lips. Jon raised a brow, confusion plastered across his face until he saw a familiar face ablaze in the torch light, and tears began to roll.
