Jon was pacing back and forth thinking about the wedding that was coming up, Jora and Sandor watched Jon as he paced, his dragons clinging close. They were still growing and Jon knew he was going to need to get them a larger place to live sooner or later.
"Jon, you've got to stop pacing."
"Why?" Jon asked, turning towards him. "I- I can't... I don't want to marry him, I want to leave.. I-."
"Then we leave." Sandor remarked.
"What?" Jon asked, narrowing his eyes. "We can't just leave..."
"Why not? Jora and I are sworn to protect you, you alone. If you want to leave, we will leave with you. Won't we Jora?"
Jora looked to Sandor then back to Jon, his dragon's wrapping around him. "I will go anywhere you go, Jon Snow, you already know that." Jora dropped to one knee, bowing his head holding his sword before him.
Sandor did the same, Jon couldn't help but smile. "I- I don't know where we would go..."
"We could go anywhere that made you feel safe, anywhere you want Jon." Sandor promised.
"I- I'm not sure if we should yet, I want to see how this plays out I just.. I don't want to marry him.. I don't want to have to submit to him..."
"You're strong Jon, you could rule this place without him. I do know where we could go, it would be dangerous but your dragons could help keep you safe."
"Where?"
"Beyond the wall Jon, beyond what we know."
"I- do you know if that is a good idea..."
"We will stand beside you no matter what you do Jon, no matter what you need. If you need us to kill a ma-."
"Don't say it, don't..." Jon whispered. "I can't keep thinking about doing it."
"You've thought about doing it?"
"Yes.... I just need to stop thinking about it... I-."
Jon moved forward quickly and held onto Sandor tightly, Jora's fangs became exposed. Why had Jon hugged Sandor not himself? Jora stepped forward and offered his arms. Jon looked at him and nodded, Jora stepped forward and hugged them both, Sandor stiffened trying his best to just let the two men hold him. He held Jon securly, careful not to move until Jon let go.
"I promise Jon, I won't leave you." Sandor looked to Jora. "We won't leave you."
Jora nodded with a smile, thanking him for including him in the conversation. "I- I'm glad you're both here with me..." Jon whispered softly. "Thank you both...."
Jora leaned forward and pressed his lips to his hair, Sandor did the same. Both men held him tight to themselves. Then they heard a knock at the door. Jon panicked and backed up quickly, the two knights moved to their position at the door. Jon took a few deep breaths, trying to calm himself. The dragons moved to wrap around him carefully.
"Who is it?" Sandor asked, holding the hilt of his sword tight.
"I want to see my mate, future mate." Joffrey's voice retorted.
"Come in." Jon said, moving himself to sit on the edge of his bed. Joffrey walked towards him with a big smile on his face.
"I wanted to show you something, I got you a gift, a gift for the..." He looked at the dragons. "For the... The uhm."
"My children?"
Joffrey looked back at him, then to the dragons. "Children?"
"I hatched them.."
He narrowed his eyes, then nodded. "Fine, yes for the children..."
Jon smiled at the response. "Alright, lets go see."
Joffrey nodded and led the way, the group of them followed behind Joffrey. They walked until they came to a large granite and marble building. "What is this?"
"This is where they used to house the dragons, now it is a bit torn apart, destroyed, but I was thinking we could have our builders put it back together; however, if you go down the stairs there, it does have space for them until it's built."
Jon followed him down the stairs, Jora, Sandor and Trant held up torches to light the way. Jon examined the walls, his dragons fluttering close behind. "Would they have free rein, could go back and forth between here and the castle?"
Joffrey turned to look at him before they kept descending. "If that would make you happy, but if they go after livestock and our people they would be locked up."
Jon lowered his eyes. "They wouldn't do that, they're learning but they wouldn't."
Joffrey only nodded and continued to follow him, they got to the lower level. The dragon's let out some fire in excitement, they had plenty of room to fly about, till they got bigger of course. For now Jon felt this could work out for them. "Thank you Joffrey," Jon smiled, "Really."
Sandor and Jora tried to growl at Joffrey, he was doing something but they couldn't tell exactly what. "For now they'll be safe, once they get bigger they'll have the upper part of the building because it should be finished if they work fast enough."
Jon smiled and clapped, his dragons spun about him, spitting out fire. Sandor and Joffrey grimaced at the fire. The building was growing hot but Jon didn't have any reaction to the heat. Jon's excitement was growing, it was too dark for the other men to see but his eyes flashed reptilian for a moment, white scales littered his upper arms. Jon didn't even see it himself, he was too focused on his dragons.
Joffrey cleared his throat and Jon turned towards him. "Thank you again, for giving them a place once they get bigger, I know they scare some of our people but I promise they'll be good."
Joffrey only nodded and grabbed for his hand. Jon locked eyes with Joffrey who gave him a sickening smile. "Only a few more days to go, then you'll be in my bed and we will rule side by side."
Jon tried not to make a noise, tried not to fight him in front of Joffrey's guard. "Come now, we have a dinner to attend, more gifts from neighboring people and all."
Jon only nodded and followed Joffrey up the stairs, the guards and his dragons close behind him.
He took another few breaths knowing his life was changing, one way or another.
