Jon Snow was an omega, omegas were a rarer designation. Snow was a last name that was given to all omegas, it was a sign of their designation. Jon was known to all as Jon Stark Snow. While he had been given everything he always felt different from his family, different from the others. The cold of the north bothered him more than the others, he always had an odd fascination with the mystical and creatures believed to be gone with history.
It was his seventeenth birthday, he made his way down to the usual celebratory breakfast. His older brother Robb was waiting there for him with a smile on his face. His usual teases of good morning sister were replaced with "Happy Birthday Jon." "You're seventeen now, big number."
Jon always hated that he was an omega, being an omega had felt like a punch in the gut. While he was allowed to learn some sword fighting and archery like his brothers it was much more tame. He was also taught the more womanly things to do by Catelyn and the Septa's that served the stark house. He could sew, cook, and knew the duties a Queen or Lady of the house should do.
Being an omega meant Jon could never be a lord, or a king. He would always be referred to as my Lady. He would be married off to another house in the future now that he was seventeen and his first heat had come only three months prior.
Catelyn had stayed by his side the entire heat while she explained what was going on to the best of her ability. Catelyn was a beta after all, it had been fifty years since a named house omega had been born.
Jon had been the first in all the better known houses, and even then it was a sight to behold. Each 'royal' family had come down to the north to see Jon when ravens came to them to announce the birth of Jon Stark Snow.
Each house blessed the boy, and once their sons were beginning to be born they all called dibs on Jon Snow to be their son's mate.
Catelyn only wished the boy was hers, but to everyone's knowledge but a select few they all believed her to be the mother. In fact Jon Snow was not Eddard's or Catelyn's but that of Lyanna's who was Eddard's sister.
No one but a very small few knew the truth, on his eighteenth birthday they had plans to tell him the truth. However, they would never get that chance.
Jon was happily enjoying a fresh baked slice of pie when a raven letter was given to Eddard. The seal was a stag, meaning Robert Baratheon was sending a letter to his old friend. Eddard opened it and froze.
"I won't marry my child to that little beast." Catelyn hissed as she looked it over. "Lyanna would roll in her grave." She whispered ensuring no one heard her comment. "Joffrey is not suitable for Jon. We have all heard the stories, he is a monster by all accounts."
"Cat..."
"You have to say no." She remarked. "Say there is a better offer."
"How would there be a better offer? Joffrey is to be king when Robert dies... that would make Jon queen. He has a rightful claim to the throne already.."
"Do not make a reply until you've spoken to Jon then, he has only just had his first heat three months ago. His second one will be within the next few weeks if not a month away."
"We will speak to him tomorrow... I fear he will not take the news well. Before then.. I believe the truth of his parentage should come early."
Catelyn grew silent but didn't disagree. "Alright then... early it is."
Jon, Theon, and Robb slunk away from the party to do some sword training when Robb looked up with an expression of horror on his face. "Jon get behind me now." He hissed, pulling Jon's arm to force him behind. Theon and Jon both turned to see men dressed in strange clothes with swords in their hands. Theon raised his own sword willing to die to protect Jon and Robb.
Jon wanted to fight, but being an omega he knew he would be protected from a fight over being allowed in one. "Just give us the omega and no one has to get hurt or injured."
Jon felt himself shiver. "Run." Robb hissed.
Jon held his sword tight as he turned on his heel and took off. Three of the men began to fight Robb and Theon while the other three took off after Jon. Jon turned to evade them when they cornered him against a wall. He killed one before he was disarmed and knocked out with the hilt of their weapons. He was bound before they took off calling to the one remaining man who the boys had yet to kill. They had Jon over a horse before Robb or Theon could react, the last man to reach his horse however was disarmed by Arya who was practicing with her bow. He yelped as he fell back, his two comrades taking off with the unconscious omega.
Robb, Theon, and Arya stood over the intruder. "Where are they taking Jon!" Arya barked, kicking the man in the balls. He narrowed his eyes at her but said nothing. Robb and Theon pulled the man to his knees and Arya kicked him again.
"I'm going after them." Robb remarked taking off on the man's horse to follow the men who had pup-napped his sibling.
Eddard noticed the disappearance of three of his children as well as Theon and made his way out to find the intruder being kicked mercilessly by his youngest daughter. "Arya enough," the alpha male commanded.
Arya ceased her kicks and looked up. "They took Jon."
"Who took Jon?" Eddard asked, eyes wide in fear.
"This man and his friends," Theon replied, holding the man's head back to expose his jugular. "They took Jon, Robb went after them."
Eddard froze, he needed to go after Jon but he needed to know who was sent to kidnap him. "Take him to a cell, Theon, I'll join Robb."
Theon nodded, the moment Eddard turned away Arya kicked the man once again. He let out a groan of pain at the young female alphas strength. Eddard jumped on his horse and followed the tracks in the dirt. He rode until he came upon Robb on his knees. His hands were bloodied and one man had been killed. "They still have him, father, they took Jon and I couldn't save him."
"We will find out who did this and we will return Jon to us, up Robb. Come we must question the man who we captured. It may be our only way to find out who's done this."
Robb frowned but returned to Winterfell with his father. Catelyn, Sansa, Arya, Bran, Rickon, and Theon were waiting for them to return. "Jon?" Catelyn asked, her voice cracking.
"Whoever that man is, his friends took him. Jon is gone." Eddard replied, his voice cracked. His hands shook, and tears threatened to fall. "But we will get him back. Send letters to all the houses, let them know of his pup-napping. All the houses need to be aware, and if anyone of them have my Jon they will not stand for long."
Ravens were quickly sent out to all the houses, Robert Baratheon was one of the first to receive the raven and was quick to respond with an offer of help from his house and banner men. Circi was hatching her own plans to remove her husband from his throne before Joffery came of age. At seventeen all children of the royal houses had special abilities, if one had Baratheon blood they could transform into a stag, just as a Stark could become a wolf and a Lanaster a lion. House Tyrell had the ability to control plants, they could make them speed up or kill them within an instant.
House Arryn could transform into birds. House Martel while unable to transform, was immune to poisons. House Greyjoy was an interesting case, since the way their people chose their leaders none had certain abilities. However all Iron islanders had an uncanny ability to spend longer under water then any normal man. House Tully however was very similar, they could breathe underwater much longer then anyone had ever seen due to River Run being their home.
Targaryen's however were a special case, only a special few of the family had the ability to transform into a dragon but all Targaryen were immune to fire. Their bodies, no matter how engulfed in flames, would never be burnt.
Children with split bloodlines often have both houses' ability, but they would always take after their fathers first. While all of Eddard's and Catelyn's children would all possibly be able to breath under water well, all children of his would be able to transform into a wolf. Ned always prayed that Jon would be able to transform into a wolf, it would make hiding his identity better. However if he couldn't he had a lot of explaining to do early on.
New changes were coming, for all the houses alike.
