A Friendship Grows

"N-n-nice to meet you," Primrose stuttered and she silently scolded herself. Day giggled and rubbed Primrose's head, "I think I'll call you Rose for short."

"Hehe," Primrose giggled, "Rose. I like that." "Day!" A new voice called out and the two turned to see a boy who looked to be about Day's age. He had dark brown hair and bright grey eyes.

He looked at Primrose and tensed up. "Don't worry, love, this is Primrose. Or Rose as I'd love to call her," Day said reassuringly, "Rose, this is Slayer. My boyfriend."

"Hehe, nice to meet you," Primrose said happily. Slayer chuckled slightly, "nice to meet you too. You're from the Wolf Kingdom right?"

"That's right," Primrose said with a smile, "and you're from the Dragon Kingdom. What should we do next?"

Day and Slayer looked at each other. "Wanna go flying?" Day asked.

Primrose smiled happily and she nodded before she transformed into her wolf form and unfolded a pair of ocean blue feathery wings.

"Whoa," Slayer said, surprised. Primrose smiled, her tail wagging.

"Let's go then," Day said with a grin before she transformed back into her Phoenix form. Slayer transformed into his Dragon form and the three took to the skies.

Primrose giggled happily. The three flew around in the air before they landed in a beach.

Primrose smirked before she splashed Day who squealed in surprise. Slayer laughed before he splashed Primrose.

A crow watched them from a branch. Primrose twitched her ear and looked towards the crow. She noticed the crow had green eyes.

Her eyes widened in realization. "Eclipse!" She exclaimed, startling Day and Slayer. The crow let out an inhuman shriek, shifting a black, smoky dragon and lunged at the three.

Day and Slayer quickly flew to the left while Primrose scurried to the right. A scream of pain escaped Primrose when the Eclipse creature grabbed onto her wing, digging it's claws into her side and hip.

Primrose fell onto her back and clawed at the Eclipse creature, trying to shove it away.

Slayer rammed into the Eclipse creature with an angered roar. Primrose slumped over on the ground.

Slayer swiped his claws across the Eclipse creature and grunted as it shoved him away. There was a snarl and a wolf tackled the Eclipse creature.

The Eclipse creature bellowed and wailed, struggling frantically as the wolf began to burn it.

After a few quick moments, the Eclipse creature disappeared in a pile of ash. The wolf huffed, "stupid creatures." She looked back at Primrose, Day and Slayer, "you guys okay?"

"Not entirely," Slayer said. "I'm Ember," the wolf said, transforming into her human form, "come with me. I know someone who can heal you." Ember had bright fiery orange hair and bright green eyes.

Day nodded and Slayer picked Primrose up onto his back. Ember led the three down the beach.

Primrose mumbled tiredly, her eyes slowly closing. "Rose, keep your eyes open okay?" Day said worriedly.

"Tired... scared," Primrose murmured softly, "don't... leave me alone." "We won't," Day said gently, "I promise we won't."

Primrose hummed softly and she slowly closed her optics. She passed out. She inhaled and exhaled. Inhale, exhale. Inhale, exhale.

Smoke drifted into her nostrils and she opened her eyes. She sat up frantically and saw fire surrounding her. Snowflakes fell from gray skies and she looked up at them nervously.

A large black figure loomed over her. Primrose widened her eyes and she covered her head to try and protect herself.

"Rose!" Day called out. Primrose jolted awake and flinched as pain flared through her body.

"Easy, easy," Day said gently. Primrose looked at her then at Slayer.

A sixteen year old girl sat in a chair. She had bright rosy pink hair and light pink eyes.

"Meet our friend, Sakura," Day said with a soft smile. "Hello," Sakura said with a soft smile.

Primrose gave a smile before she looked at the bandages wrapped around her side and hip. She sighed shakily and clenched her fists tightly.

"We should head back to the Dragon Kingdom," Slayer said to Day. "I can't," Primrose said quietly, "I can't leave my friends there."

"Who are your friends?" Ember asked curiously. "Rain, Night, Fire, Shadow, Echo, Holly, Onyx, Eclipse, Comet, Cloud, Blizzard and Moonlight and Stardust," Primrose said and she looked at Day, "Moonlight's a lot like you."

"That's a lot," Sakura said. Primrose chuckled softly, "you have no idea. Most of them aren't... exactly wolves."

"What do you mean?" Slayer asked. "Fire, Eclipse and Moonlight are Dragons," Primrose said, "Cloud, Stardust, Comet and Rain are Phoenixes. Onyx, Holly, Blizzard, Night and Shadow are Wolves. They've been hiding in an underground shelter for a while."

"Does your- does the queen know?" Ember asked, frowning slightly. Primrose shook her helm, "and I'd appreciate that she didn't. Who knows what she'd do."

"But you're her daughter," Day said with a frown, "she wouldn't hurt you."

Primrose was silent for a moment, unsure. Deep down, she was more scared of herself rather than her own parent. She looked back at Day, "she wouldn't hurt me. But I'm not taking any chances. Take me with you to the Dragon Kingdom."

Slayer hummed softly in thought before he gave a gentle smile, "alright." Primrose smiled, tears forming in her eyes and Day and Slayer hugged her.

Ember and Sakura smiled softly as they watched the three.

Soon, Primrose had gathered her friends and they managed to sneak out. They hurried to a cherry blossom tree where Day, Slayer, Sakura and Ember waited.

"Ready?" Slayer asked. "Yep," Night said with a nod. Primrose smiled and nodded.

"Not so fast," a familiar voice said, startling the group. Primrose whirled around to see her mother and a few guards.

"I thought we weren't followed!" Holly exclaimed. "Primrose," Tiger Lily said as she jumped down from her horse and stepped towards her daughter, "get away from them."

Primrose stared at her for a moment before she frowned, "no. I won't let you hurt my friends, Mom."

Tiger Lily narrowed her eyes as she was silent for a few moments. "Captain... see to it that my daughter is taken back to the castle," she said calmly.

"No!" Day and Slayer shouted. Ember growled as she shielded Sakura from the guards.

"No!" Eclipse shouted in rage. Her eyes turned bright red and an unseen force blew the guards away.

Tiger Lily widened her eyes at the sight. In Eclipse's place stood a black dragoness with grey and blue stripes. A half moon was on her chest and a full moon was on her forehead; they both were glowing.

Primrose widened her eyes in shock and realization. Eclipse was a descendant of Cassiopeia.

Eclipse closed her eyes in concentration and a full moon appeared underneath her and the others. It glowed brightly and the group disappeared in an instant.

Timber growled softly in frustration, "do not worry, your highness. We'll get your daughter back-" he was caugnt off by sudden laughter and a wave of fear rushed through him as he looked at Tiger Lily. She was laughing maniacally.

"I knew it," she said with a dark grin, "not only is my daughter a hybrid mix of a Dragon and a Wolf... but one of her closest friends... is a descendant of Cassiopeia- the Goddess of the Black Moon. This will be very interesting."
