Chapter 7
I tried to avoid Lauren as much as I could and if I couldn't I made sure that one of my friends were with me so I wasn't left alone.
Matt wouldn't leave me alone and kept hinting that I was a werewolf to Faith. I nearly snorted one day because Faith already knew.
Faith on the other hand, became more and more 'in love' with Matt. I wasn't entirely convinced if she was or if it was indeed Matt's powers.
I also noticed as well that Matt didnt look as good as he did before when I'd first met.
I also noticed that he'd look more at Faith's neck rather than her face.
Snape was more helpful and I would go to him sometimes when I couldn't stand it any more.
And alas, if had been a month and it was time for another painful transformation.
I gulped down the potion Slade made for me and gave it to Dumbledore.
"See you tomorrow." Dumbledore smiled.
I grunted. I tried not to speak to Dumbledore any more since he'd not believed me- and still didn't!
I crawled down the hole and into the cabin thingy and transformed.
It was very painful but I knew from experience that wounds that were open at the time of the transformation would heal and I'd get a scar.
I woke the next day tired but not wounded any more.
A plank was on the middle of the floor so I picked it up and decided to put it back.
I searched the room and found where it came from. A door all boarded up.
Frowning I opened the door and found a forest all around.
Closing it up I put the plank back and crawled up the tunnel.
Faith and Matt had become a thing and spent their time kissing which I thought was pretty disgusting seen as they did that all the time.
This was also the first thing I saw going into the Gryffindor common room and I rushed upstairs trying not to vomit. I felt glad my friend was happy and all, but I didn't like the fact a dead person was going out with her. She deserved better.
I got my rucksack and put some money in it. (People lined the hallways selling sweets) and my sketch book and pens. I can tell you it's hard to draw pictures that move around.
Going down the stairs I went to Snape's classroom where I sat and chatted with him for a long time. I got the impression that Snape was hiding something from me but didn't tell me.
"I suppose you want to have an birthday present." Snape asked me.
I'd forgotten it was my birthday today. I nodded smiling.
"Close your eyes then." Snape instructed.
I did so and an cage was put in my hands.
I gasped when I opened my eyes.
A cute owl was looking up at me with big eyes. "Hoot." It hooted at me.
"You didn't have to do this for me professor." I gasped.
"I wanted to. You didn't have an pet and most people do." Snape said.
"I'll call it Snaps." I decided when it snapped up an dead mouse at the bottom of the cage.
"Snaps it is then."
I got up and hugged the professor. "Thank you." I whispered.
"That's alright. You need someone to-" he stopped suddenly but I didn't notice.
"I'd better go. See you later." I said when a bell went.
I went out and took Snaps to the Avery tower before going downstairs and into the great hall for dinner.
The hall was loud and cheerful and everyone was in high spirits, it was indeed, nearly Christmas and to top it off, today was the day You-Know-Who was defeated.
After the dinner we went to the Gryffindor common room and stayed there for a few hours and had a party and I noticed Faith and Matt sneaking out a few hours into it.
When the party was over and they hadn't come back I left and walked around trying to find them.
I walked out into the school grounds when I found them on the field.
"About time you got here Brooke. We've been waiting for you to come." Faith grinned at me.
"Why? What for?" I asked.
"To give you your birthday present." She grinned.
"Happy birthday." Matt said then bit Faith's neck.
Growling I lunged at Matt and knocked him away from her.
The little time he'd sucked her blood was enough to make her unconscious.
He grinned laughing at me.
"I just couldn't wait any more to drink from her." He grinned.
I snarled at him and punched him in the face knocking him to the floor.
Without wasting a second I clawed him, bit him, everything a wild animal would do and, surprisingly, I loved the strong feeling flowing through my veins.
Getting a grip over myself I snarled in his face. "Get up vampire!"
But he didn't move.
I kicked him, but still, nothing happened. It was only then I realized he was dead. The blood spilt all around him. I had killed for the first time.
The werewolf in me growled pleased an enemy had been got rid of.
I didn't though. I was horrified and upset. I was covered in blood. I couldn't go into the castle, the Fat Lady would see and when people found Matt they would add two and two together and get.... me. The murderer, the werewolf gone crazy.
Terrified I ran. Bolted. Call it what you want, I did that. Luckily it began to rain and I rolled in a puddle to get rid of the blood.
I cast an anti weather charm on my backpack so it wouldn't get wet and ran to my tunnel and into the cabin.
Racing to the door I knew was there, I teared the wooden planks from it and opened it and carried on running. I didn't stop till the next night where I climbed into a tall, well foliaged tree and fell asleep exhausted.
I didn't know what the future would hold, and I didn't want to.
