Chapter 4
I crept up to my bedroom and unzipped my makeup bag and brushed on some light makeup. I put a bit of blusher on my cheeks and a skin coloured lipstick on.
I then got my hair straighteners that wouldn't work in Hogwarts because they were muggle things and casted a spell with my wand to heat up the pads so I could straighten my hair. It worked, I was relieved to find out, so I could just about pull off not washing my hair till tonight.
Zipping my bag up again I put it under the bed and grabbed the Transfigaration textbook.
A few minutes later the others began to wake up.
"Good afternoon ladies." I said getting up and opening to curtains to let the bright warm sunshine in.
I heard a scream and a thump and found a lessa spotted Lauren with messy nest of hair on the floor.
"Jesus Christ Brooke! This is no way to wake a person up." Lauren yawned after finishing her sentence and stretched her arms out showing her bite mark.
"Well it's not my fault vampires don't like the sun." I teased.
"Oh shut up!" Lauren said grumbling getting up.
"I better get the Winchesters, they'll rid me of this demon." I said laughing.
"Who the hell are they?!" Lauren frowned putting her clothes on.
I forgot that the Winchesters were a muggle thing. "Doesn't matter."
"When you two stop quarreling, I shall get up and get ready for school." Faith said taking her ginger hair out her plats.
"Good idea." I grinned.
"Guess who we got double today?" I said grinning.
"Who?" Lauren asked.
"Professor Snape." I heard groans from Faith.
"You mean professor grumpy guts?"
"The very same Faith."
"I'm gonna need a new type of faith to get through it then." She sighed. "But, on the upside, he has a cute fringe."
I laughed loudly at that. "Come on, let's have some breakfast while it's still there."
"Today we are going to make a healing potion today. Get out your cauldrons and turn to page nineteen."
I turned to page nineteen and began smashing cherries in a mortar and pestle.
I scraped them into the cauldron with some water and some strange tree leaf thingy and the water turned light pink.
I got some potatoes and asked Faith if I could borrow her chopping knife.
Faith passed over her chopping knife and I picked it up to use before putting it down straight away as professor Snape walked by.
"Shit!" I gasped out loud holding my hand.
"Five points from Gryffindor for swearing, what did you do Willows?" Snape said straight away homing in on me like a vulture.
"I'm fine." I said holding my finger. "I accidentally cut my hand on a knife." I said.
Snape looked at the silver knife and then back to my hand, which was burnt.
"Don't pick it up by the blade Willows." Snape sighed and walked away.
I picked up the knife again and as fast as I could, chopped up the potatoes and put them in the cauldron.
Putting the blade down I made my way to the tap and put my hand under it.
"What have you done now?" Snape sighed holding my wrist and looking at the bad burn on it slowly getting better already.
"I held the knife." I said. "To cut the potatoes."
"Brooke, your a werewolf and it's your weakness. Your going to kill yourself if you do that."
I frowned at him.
"It's my choice. Not yours." I told him.
"And I'm your teacher, and a friend to do with your matters." Snape said back.
"My matters! In case you haven't noticed, I'm the one living with this condition not you!" I took my hand away and marched back to the table.
"What happened? It looked like you and the professor were exchanging heated words?" Faith asked concerned.
"I was just being told off for being stupid with a knife." I shrugged looking at my hand. It was all better now.
"You do have to be careful of blades Brooke." Milo said.
I grinned. "Careful is my middle name." We laughed and the rest of the two lessons went without a hitch, though I thought I saw Lauren frowning at me.
Lunch was good, different sandwiches and drinks.
We were chatting away when this boy came and sat down with another guy beside him.
The first boy had long black hair and blue eyes and a sweet looking smile. My heart nearly stopped.
The second boy had blond hair and green eyes. His smile was rather mean looking in my opinion and didn't show his teeth much. Then there was his smell. It smelt horrible but I couldn't place it.
I beared my teeth slightly at him and he smiled wider showing slightly pointer teeth than normal.
Vampire! I recognised and bit back a snarl.
"My name's Seth, this is my brother Matt, can we sit here?" Seth asked.
Faith smiled warmly, "Of course you can." She shook Seth's hand and then Matt's.
"Thank you, I've been trying to find some friends." Matt said smiling at me.
You won't find any here! I snarled in my head.
"Every one needs friends." I smiled and let the werewolf snarling quietly in my head loose a little and let my teeth get sharper in warning.
"You ok Brooke? You look like your grimacing." Milo asked me concerned.
I stopped and made my teeth go back to normal. "Yeaah, just, why the hell does salt on a wound hurt so much?" I whined.
"Dunno but it does." Faith shrugged looking rather dreamy.
I looked at her strangely but shrugged and ate my sandwiches.
"Brooke Willows." Snape said.
"Sir?" I asked confused.
"Your mother sent an owl earlier and Filch found it. After having a look at it it's fine though I would advise not to let your mother do this again." Snape gave me a chopping knife with a wooden handle that connected a silver blade. "You apparently picked up the wrong one."
I nodded a and pretended to act relieved. "Thank you professor."
"And I was told to give you this letter for you to open when your on your own." The professor handed over a letter.
I nodded and looked at it.
"Thanks."
"What is it with you and teachers?" Milo asked shaking his head.
I shrugged. "Dunno." I slipped the knife into my pocket.
After finding out we had different lessons we parted ways and I went to Divination.
I was one of the first there so I sat in the corner on my own with a cup of tea.
I put the letter in front of me and smelt it. Professor Snape had wrote it.
I opened it up and began to read it.
Brooke Willows.
You are one stubborn fool of a student. Why won't you listen to me? There's one thing pretending to be.. 'normal' and then there's being reckless and in danger of being found out because of it.
I got you that knife for you so you can use it and as long as you don't touch the blade you sharn't get hurt if you sincerely really want to be 'normal'
Just for your information when I was at school I knew someone who was a werewolf themselves and helped them to his this fact from other students so I do know how to do so.
Anyway, once, if you feel they are trustworthy, you will have to tell your friends your secret for otherwise you could end up with trouble, trust me.
Professor Snape.
