Chapter 13

Walking into boots I was suddenly aware I wasn't wearing any shoes, big problem cuz muggles don't normally not wear shoes.

I turned around quickly and walked out. Putting my hands in my pockets I frowned wondering what to do. I had no muggle money and I didn't want to go back to Lilly's even though they didn't know about me, I didn't want to take any more chances than I had to.

I felt an piece of paper in one of my pockets and I took it out to put it in the bin sighing when I stopped when I saw what it was. A fifty pound note.

I grinned. I could get a pair of shoes and some clothes that was in fashion at this time helping me to blend in.

Rushing to a Primark I grabbed a pair of big sole boots that had laces and put them on and discreetly took the price tag off so I didn't have to buy it.

I brought another jacket like the one I had on and some t-shirts that I didn't care about the looks with the fifty pounds and found I had about ten pound left.

I went to boots and brought a lipstick and some eye liner and went to a sales assistant.

"Can I help you deary?" The lady smiled kindly to me.

I acted sweet. If I did then they won't remember me. "I would like to get a photo printed but I don't know how to." I said.

The sales assistant smiled again. "I can help you sweetie, follow me."

I followed behind scowling. From the looks of her I was a year older and if she knew the real me, she wouldn't call me sweetie. But at least I knew my disguise worked.

The lady helped me select the photo I was after and print it out.

"You'll need to pay fifteen pence for that." She smiled.

I got out my remaining ten pence out and faked getting emotional. "I've only ten pence, I can't give my mother the best birthday present for her birthday before the cancer takes her away." I let a tear slip down my face by thinking of the sadness I felt because of the dementors.

"Hey, I'll pay that five pence for you sweetie, don't cry, you mother will love you." She smiled with what looked like pity in her eyes and handed a five pence over.

I sniffed and smiled. "I can't have that, it's yours."

The lady shook her head. "My mother had cancer too, I didn't get to give her a birthday present before it was too late, I don't want that to happen to you."

I gave her a hug and went to the tills and brought the photo and left.

That was easier than I expected.

I now needed to go to Diagon Ally and get a new wand. Thankfully I'd not got my wand from Olivander's place so all should be well.

I walked in the Leaky Cauldron and waited for someone to make their way to the entrance of the wizarding shop.

I did not have to wait long and so I sneaked in behind them and made my way to the wand shop.

The owner was on his own and smiled when he saw me.

"Want a wand I suppose?" He asked me.

"That's right," I nodded. "Going to Hogwarts later this year." I smiled.

"Your a new witch then? Right, let's find a wand for you then. How about elk wood with elder flower and willow?"

He placed a dark brown wand on the counter.

I picked it up and he took it away. "No, no, not right at all." He went through to a different section and pulled another wand out.

"Try this one, Phoenix tail feather and unicorn horn"

I loved the bone like colour of it but as soon as I picked it up lots of sparks came out and nearly set fire to the place.

I let the owner quickly take back the wand.

The owner rummaged around for a long time before coming back smiling. "Perhaps this one, Phoenix feather and unicorn tail hair." He said.

I picked it up and the grey wand sparked and warmed in my hand.

"Perfect, Phoenix wing feather and unicorn tail hair, five and a half inches, not too bendy, not to hard." The owner smiled at me.

Now I was all ready.

Putting everything in bags I went to a hidden place and turned into my owl form and carried my bags to a secret place I'd made.

I went to an disused house that was abandoned and dug out the suitcase that was in one of the rooms I'd found.

Plopping it on the bed I had slept in for the long months I went and got my bags and dashed back in and packed. The suitcase was half full when I finished.

Now for the long journey to Kings Cross.

I made it. After long nights of carrying the suitcase as an owl and one transformation where I nearly got lost, I'd made it.

Hurrying I merged in with the other students getting through the secret pathway and onto platform three and three quarters.

I found a compartment on my own and sat in it.

Few minutes later I heard a knock on the door. A boy with short black hair stood by the door.

I smiled and waved him in.

"Are you werewolf or vampire?" The boy asked.

I smiled and shook my head. "I should hope not." I went for a hate those things attack.

"Are you a pure blood?" He asked.

"Yes." I said lying again.

The boy sighed with relief. ""The amount of mudbloods around today, it's a disgrace, not to mention those wolfy and bitey people. Too much to bear, it's nice to find what person from the same heritage as oneself." The boy walked in and sat opposite me.

I nodded. "Your pure blood?" I asked.

He nodded. "Cousin family to the Malfoys, can you believe?"

"I've heard of that family, great pure blood one, but I can't remember off the top of my head yours, could you?" I said pretending to think.

"Kampala. I'm Fyres. Fyres Kampala, you are?"

"Lilly Rose." I answered.

"Never heard that pure blood family." Fyres frowned.

"I should hope so, we're a small family, we try to live as quietly as possible, we were Rose-Black, a relation to the Black family, but after the fiasco with Sirius Black, we cut our relations with them." I said.

Fyres grinned. "I can imagine the family disgrace that was. Good thing you did so. Say, you want to be my friend?" Fyres asked.

I grinned. "Would love to, pure bloods to the end."

A tentative knock on the door interrupted us.

"You are?" Fyres asked curtly.

"Joseph."

"Pure blood?" I asked.

He shook his head.

"Then go away." I told him.

The boy hung his head and left.

I grinned and high fived Fyres.

"Score one for the pure bloods."

Within a few hours I'd won Fyres over and a couple other guys called Billy and Kendall.

When we got to Hogwarts I faked surprise and wonder as we were taken to the Great Hall for the sorting hat ceremony.

This time I paid attention to what was being said and found that Snape was the teacher for Slytherin, that was where I was going to go to, I decided.

twenty minutes later I was called up. "Rose Lilly!"

The sorting hat was put on me and it began choosing where I was to go.

I kept saying over and over in my head, Slytherin and I was glad when the hat yelled Slytherin and I grinned going over to Fyres.

After the feast I went with the other's to the Slytherin dormitory and looked for Snape.

There he was, going to his room.

I walked over to his room and knocked on his door.

"Come in!" Was the curt reply.

I opened the door and closed it behind me.

"Yes?" Snape asked sitting by the desk.

"I'm Lilly Rose, and I wanted to say I am looking forward to another year at Hogwarts." I grinned.

Snape's head shot up and grinned.

"Brooke!" He hugged me and I did back.

"I'm glad to see you again." I breathed in the familiar scent.

"How'd you get in?" Snape asked.

"I found a girl who was supposed to come and took her place. She didn't know about the letter, nor her family." I said.

"That was dangerous, how'd you get this look? From the real Lilly?" Snape asked.

I shook my head. "Transfigeration, took what I needed to do for turning to an owl and made a new look, what you think?"

Snape looked me over. "Doesn't look like how you used to look. Well done."

I smiled. "Now it's time to learn."
