Prologue

My tail moved back and forth as I continued to stare at the beautiful chocolate brown covered wolf. I have been eyeing him for days now trying to get his attention away from all the other wolfs. I don't know how I thought I could get his attention behind bushes, but sometimes he would look in my direction because of all the rustling happening from my tail hitting every plant in the surrounding area. That was the only time I got a chance to look into his blue ocean swirled eyes.

I was sure he was going to look in my direction, when a wolf got in my line of sight, making my tail fall limp.

"Have you chosen yet?" I yelped in surprise, quickly flattening my stomach on the ground, hoping that he didn't hear me.

Wow, I want him to notice me, but I don't want him to see me. Why was I such a scaredy wolf?

"It's okay darling, if you have not chosen yet." I looked up and saw the lady with the bright glowing blonde hair, with a dress that had the effect of mist surrounding her. She was the only human that lived in this place, or the only goddess; she is the moon goddess. She is only seen when she wants a wolf to see her, which was why he couldn't. She is also the only person we can talk to through our mind, because she is the one that put us here. I felt her hand run through my fur slowly in a soothing way.

I shook my head furiously as I pointed my nose in the direction of the pack of wolfs. Then with my nail drew a circle and put a dot in the middle to show where he was located in the circle.

The moon goddess gave me a small smile as she looked in the direction of the group. "You like him?"

"yes." It is so weird talking through my mind after being used to showing what I wanted instead of speaking. I had only done it once before when I arrived to this place, this strange place of open fields and tall trees, that was when the moon goddess explained everything to me.

Down on Earth the moon goddess made werewolf's; People that are half human and half werewolf. She made then to be strong and be protective of nature, but also to help the humans find love. Once a human turns 13 years old they receive a wolf to shift into, and talk to, but they also receive a mate; someone that they are paired to and suppose to love. Once the two werewolf's have a kid of their own the wolf essence comes here to find a mate, while the human stays on earth. When we find a wolf we want to be with we go into a small sleep until our human turns 13. That's when we can go down to them.

"You are going for the strongest wolf, an Alpha. Remember the only way for him to become your mate is if you both accept each other, are you ready for the challenge?" she asked. I quickly nodded my head. "Then why are you still here? Go!" She vanished as I was still lying on the grass.

Counting mentally in my head to five I bravely sucked in air before jumping out of the bushes and slowly working my way over to the group, I walked over to him. Some eyes were on me as I walked with my head down over to them, not wanting to be disrespectful. Right when I was a paw away the circle of wolfs became smaller and I couldn't join in anymore. I tried lifting my head up higher to see if I could look overtop, but that just resulted in me getting a kick in the face from a black with a patch of white on his foot. The action made me tumble onto the ground, and when I tried to get up I got another kick from the same wolf. He turned around after the second one and witnessed me push myself firmly back on all four paws. I was too determined to be accepted, and that must have made the wolf in front of me furious.

I probably looked like an outsider trying to get in. Outsiders are not allowed.

In a quick step he grabbed the fur on my neck and grabbed it into his mouth before flinging me back onto the ground.

A whimper left my mouth as I tried covering my neck with my paw, my only way of protection from another bite or hit. This got the whole attention of the pack. The only noise that broke up the silence was by a howl. The group parted and the chocolate brown wolf came over to me and nuzzled my paw to move away from my neck, and when I did he licked my injury, then laid down next to me, right after barking at everyone to leave. The black wolf was reluctant, but he eventually left.

After that we hung out all the time together, just the two of us. My favorite game to play is chase; I would look at him, at the trees, then back at him. I would wag my tail as I did so then take off in a sprint with him behind me.

Right now we are snout to snout, all by ourselves.

"Have you chosen?" The moon goddess appeared right next to us as she asked the same question she had a couple days ago. I looked at the brown wolf to see if he saw her, and I knew he did by the way he nodded his head to answer her question.

I could feel a wolfy smile take over my face as I finally felt accepted. I nodded my head immediately after him. The moon goddess looked at the both of us while smiling. "That's wonderful." She reached down and lightly touched the top of both of our heads. "You can now talk to each other through the mind now."

"Mate," the brown wolf says. I keep repeating his word in my head. Apparently when a baby is born the first word they say is in some way special, and his first word to me is special, because I finally have someone that loves me. I have a mate.

"Mate," I reply back.

His eyes open wider in surprise. "This is so cool."

"I'm sorry to break up the communication, but I really need to go over some things with the both of you." She looked at both of us before she continued. "Everything I said about bringing the humans love is true, but I must warn you, not every human wants the other person they are matched too and sadly end up getting rejected. So try with all your might for the human to see them not by the way they look, but by the way they are. Also, there is no guarantee you will find each other right away, but just know that eventually you will. There is always a way to find each other."

I nodded my head as I knew this was for the best, this is why we were here, and by doing so I was finally going to see my parents.

"Now I need to get you ready for your humans, so I need to put you asleep now. Please, close your eyes."

I did as told, and once I felt the tap of my head I was out like a flashlight.

So what are your thoughts on this chapter? How are you feeling about the different pov? The first werewolf book of many that I will post on wattpad.

Also, I know someone is going to say something about the moon goddess not looking like I described or didn't make werewolf's for the reason that I said above, or that I got the age that a human gets their wolf wrong. Like, "Not to be rude, but the age should be 5." And I will politely say, "Its a work of fiction, I can write whatever I want." I hope I got the point across that this book won't be perfect in anyway, but something fun to read.

I don't know how the updates will be, but I'll try my best not to have a month in between each one. We are also going to be meeting the human in the second chapter, any ideas what she will be like?

I personally have no idea where this plot is going, but I would love if you stayed with me during it. Everyone that supports any of my books mean the world to me!

I know this chapter is really short, but it's the prologue! So its just the beginning.
