When Jedi Argue

Continuation of the last part.

It was early morning, and Kanan, Ezra, and I were outside helping Ezra with his lightsaber training.

"Let's work on your forms, Ezra, because when you're fighting, your body is all out of whack." Kanan said.

I couldn't help but laugh.

"Every Jedi knows different forms, depending on what their Master taught them. Crowvern taught me the basic forms, but soon taught me some advanced skills and techniques." I said.

"Let's start with the basic forms. Mind showing him, Zel?" Kanan asked.

I smiled and nodded. I took out my lightsaber and ignited it. The blue light reflected off my brown skin. When Ezra ignited his blade, we stood on opposite sides of each other.

"Ready position." I said.

I grasped my lightsaber and lunged forward. Ezra did the same.

"Block high!" I said, bringing down the blade.

Ezra raised his lightsaber and blocked mine.

"Low!" I said.

Ezra blocked my lightsaber quickly.

"Middle!" I said.

Our lightsabers collided. Repeatedly, our lightsabers connected. Soon, at Kanan's command, we both stopped.

"That was good, but you're still lacking something, Ezra," Kanan said.

"Which is?" Ezra asked.

"You're not confident in your attacks. Whether you strike or block, your body is still shaking."

Ezra sighed in frustration.

"Don't worry, Ez. It's natural. You're used to fighting with Kanan and fighting with me threw you off. Other than that, you got the forms down packed." I said.

Ezra smiled sheepishly. Kanan then slightly pushed me to the side and walked up to Ezra.

"Let's go. Remember what I taught you." Kanan said, igniting his weapon.

(Imagine the two are outside)

I watched the two as they fought. I then looked at Kanan with disgust.

Why'd he push me...?

When the two finally stopped, I walked over to them.

"Great job, Ezra. I see Kanan taught you well..." I said, slightly glaring at the Jedi.

"Yeah, but he can be a little impatient at times." Ezra said.

"Now that, I can believe."

Kanan rolled his eyes.

"Whatever..." Kanan said.

Then, a sneaky idea popped in my head. I leaned in and whispered something to Ezra. He smiled and nodded. Kanan looked at us with a confused look.

"What are you two planning?" he asked.

"Nothing much..." Ezra said.

Ezra and I ignited our blades and charged at Kanan. Kanan swiftly caught on to our plan and blocked our attack. Our lightsabers connected and nothing, but blue was all we could see.

"Ezra, what's going on?" Kanan asked.

"What? I'm just training." Ezra said casually.

He then whipped around and swung his lightsaber near me.

"Thought you were on my side, Ez." I asked smiling.

"Come on, it's just a game." Ezra said.

"No, it's not." Kanan said firmly.

We all deactivated our blades, and Ezra and I turned to Kanan.

"This isn't a game, Ezra. Being a Jedi is a life or death situation. You lose, you die. You win by surviving." Kanan said.

"Aw, come on Kanan. Learn to have some fun occasionally." I said.

"Zela's right, Kanan. Training shouldn't have to be bland and boring all the time. We can make a game out of it." Ezra said.

Kanan sighed and then looked at me.

"You of all people should know how crucial Jedi training is," Kanan said.

"And I do. My Jedi training wasn't easy, but it was fair. My Master was patient, just like Billaba was. Apparently, you learned nothing about patience, Kanan," I said.

"I learned enough."

"But not much."

Kanan growled at me.

"Admit it. My way of training is just as efficient as yours." I said.

"Why would I admit to something like that?" Kanan asked.

I groaned and rolled my eyes.

He knows I'm right...

"Hey guys, let's not fight. Both of your ways of training are great. Either way, I'm learning something. Two is better than one." Ezra said.

We didn't hear him, and our bickering continued.

"Now I know why you ran. You're a coward... You're afraid to be proven wrong when someone else is right," I said.

"My Master told me to run. She was protecting me. Unlike your Master, she wasn't a servant of the Dark Side and didn't try to kill me. If anything, I'd say you're working with the Empire as well," Kanan said.

"I fight against the Empire, and fight for the galaxy's freedom! At least I'm not a coward to admit that!"

"It's not my fault your parents died because of you, and that your Master betrayed you for the Dark Side!"

Everything was silent. My face was shocked and hurt.

"Zelara...?" Ezra asked.

I turned around and began walking away.

Why would he say something like that...?

Sabine got up from sitting on the Ghost's ramp and walked over to me.

"Hey, I heard what was going on... You okay?" she asked.

I didn't acknowledge her question and continued walking out onto the plains. Ezra looked up at Kanan with a grim look.

"Kanan...?" Ezra asked.

Kanan didn't answer and walked back on the Ghost. Sabine walked up to Ezra and placed a hand on his shoulder.

"You okay, kid?" she asked.

"I'll be fine..." Ezra said.

Hera saw Kanan and walked over to him.

"Hey, where's Zelara?" she asked.

Kanan didn't answer and continued to his room. Hera soon noticed Ezra and Sabine and decided to ask them.

"Hey, do you guys know where Zelara is? We're about to leave soon." Hera said.

"She and Kanan got into a little argument... It got pretty heated..." Ezra said.

Hera's expression soon darkened.

"Ezra, go and talk to Kanan. I'll go look for Zelara." Hera said.

Ezra nodded and went to Kanan's room.

"Hera, what about the pickup at Carva?" Sabine asked.

"Right now, this is more important..." Hera said.

Sabine didn't ask any further questions. Hera walked out onto the plains and began looking for me. I was back in the Loth-wolf den, meditating. I soon felt Hera's presence and looked up to see the Twe'lik walking up to me.

"Hey Hera," I said.

"Hey... You okay, Zel?" she asked.

"What are you talking about?"

"You and Kanan..."

I looked away and sighed.

"I didn't mean what I said... I just get... so angry when someone mentions my past, or disrespects my Master, or... say I'm the reason for my parents' death..." I said.

"I get it. I know Kanan didn't mean what he said. He had a rough life, too. You're not the only one." Hera said.

I sighed and nodded.

"Forgive... and forget..." Atlas said.

"Atlas is right, Zela. You two need to forgive each other and forget about this ever happened." Hera said.

I looked at her and then looked away. Then, Atlas gently placed his forehead on mine.

"Apologize... forgive... and forget..." Atlas said.

I sighed and placed my hand on the side of his face. I then looked back at Hera and nodded.

"Let's go." I said.

Hera smiled with relief.

"Can you take us back to the Ghost?" I asked, looking at Atlas.

He nodded his head. I helped Hera onto Atlas's back and soon climbed on as well. With a burst of energy, Atlas sprinted across Lothal's plains. After a short while, we reached the Ghost and saw Kanan and Ezra waiting outside. Atlas bent down and Hera and I hopped off Atlas's back.

"Apologize... forgive... and forget..." Atlas said.

Atlas soon sprinted away without another word. I turned to Kanan and sighed.

"...Kanan..."

"...Zelara..."

We stopped short when we spoke at the same time.

"Look, Kanan... I'm sorry for what I said. I didn't mean it. I shouldn't have gone off on you like that... What I said was very rude... I'm sorry..." I said.

"I'm sorry as well. What I said was wrong, and I shouldn't have said something like that with all you've been through..." Kanan said.

"So... friends?"

"Friends."

We sealed the deal with a handshake.

With everything we've been through in the past, in the end, we're all the same...

"Glad you two made up." Ezra said.

Kanan and I looked at each other, and we caught each other's plan. We ignited our lightsabers and readied ourselves. Ezra smiled and ignited his lightsaber.

"You know, Ezra, this is good training for you. Say you're up against two evil Jedi." I said.

"Yeah, kid. What will you do?" Kanan asked.

"Come at me and I'll show you!" Ezra challenged.

Kanan and I charged at the kid and our little training session began.

"You were right, Zel. Making a game out of training is fun." Kanan said.

Told you he knew I was right...

Hera watched us with loving eyes as we sparred. She shook her head in amusement and went back on the Ghost.

"Hey Hera, did they make up?" Sabine asked walking up to the Twe'lik.

"Look outside." Hera said.

Sabine looked outside and smiled at the sight. Kanan, Ezra, and I were having fun with the Jedi training.

At this point, I don't know if we're even training anymore.

"That's what I like to see..." Sabine said to herself.
