Empire Day Birthday
🎆Happy 4th of July/Independence Day🎆 I wanted to do an Ezra birthday part for so long. Since Empire Day celebrates the Empire and Independence Day celebrates America... You know where I'm going with this. Anyway, enjoy!
"There's an Empire Day parade on Lothal every year. Ever since our attack on it a couple of years ago, there's more security than ever. We'll have to move quickly if we don't want to get caught." Hera said.
"Sounds like a plan." Sabine said.
"Once we get there, I'll round up the Loth-wolves to help and meet you guys at the parade." I said.
Everyone nodded and boarded the ship, except for Ezra. The teen was leaning against the side of the open ramp, arms crossed, face grim.
I can't imagine how Ezra must feel right now. Being born on Empire Day...
Putting on a warm smile, I walked up to the kid and placed a hand on his shoulder.
"Happy Birthday, Ezra." I said.
The kid just nodded with a smug look on his face. I let out a sigh and gave Ezra's shoulder a reassuring squeeze.
"Will ruining the Empire Day parade make you feel better?" I asked.
I saw Ezra's eyes shift towards me. He breathed out a heavy and nodded.
"A little... I guess." he mumbled
A small smile formed on my face. I placed a hand on Ezra's back and led him onboard the Ghost. Once the ramp closed, the Ghost left the surface and flew into space. Ezra was resting his head on the Dejarik table when suddenly, my comlink started beeping. I stepped away from Ezra and answered the call.
"Read you loud and clear, Hera," I said.
"Zelara, can you come in the cockpit for a moment?" Hera asked.
"On my way."
Putting away my comlink, I made my way to the cockpit. Opening the doors, Hera and the others were waiting.
"Was Ezra following you?" Kanan asked.
"Nope. He's resting in the common room." I said, closing the doors behind me.
I leaned on the back of Sabine's seat and listened to Hera.
"Chopper, go make sure Ezra stays away from the cockpit." Hera said.
Chopper saluted with a warble before rolling out the cockpit.
"So, did we decide where we're going to have Ezra's party?" Sabine asked.
"The Loth-wolf den. I called in a couple of friends to decorate the place while we're busy having fun at the parade," I said.
"And who are these friends of yours?" Zeb asked.
"You know them. Isen, Diella, Nerezza, and Kayla."
"Good. We're going to need all the help we can get." Hera said.
"Other than ruining the Empire Day parade, Ezra's day is really going to turn around." Kanan said.
Everyone nodded in agreement.
"Zel, do you know when the others will be at the den?" Hera asked.
"As soon as the wolves and I are gone, I'll give them a call." I said.
"Good."
When we came out of hyperspace, Lothal became visible. Hera entered the planet's atmosphere and landed the Ghost in the plains.
"Zel, go round up the Loth-wolves, and meet up at the rendezvous point," Hera said.
"Will do," I said
"And don't forget to call the others."
"You can count on me."
Leaving the cockpit, I walked out of the Ghost and onto the plains. I watched as the Ghost left the ground and headed towards the Capital City. Turning on my heel, I sprinted towards the Loth-wolf den. Upon my arrival, Atlas was there with the rest of the pack waiting for me.
"Guess you knew we were coming." I said.
Atlas grumbled and nodded.
"If you don't mind, a couple of my friends will be coming soon to decorate this place for Ezra's birthday. I hope you don't mind." I said.
"You mean us?" asked a familiar voice.
Coming from behind Atlas was Diella, Isen, Nerezza, and Kayla.
"We told Atlas here everything, and he allowed it." Diella said.
"Now, don't you have a parade to rain on?" Isen asked.
I nodded to my cousin with a confident grin. I hopped on Atlas's back and turned back to the others.
"Good luck, Zelly." Diella said.
"Thanks. Let's go, Atlas!" I said.
Atlas barked before sprinting across the plains with the rest of the pack in tow.
"Just like old times, huh Atlas?" I asked.
Atlas nodded as he continued to sprint. Once we reached the Capital City, I directed the wolves to their designated posts.
"Alright, Hera. The wolves and I are in position. Waiting for on signal." I said in my commlink.
"Copy that, Zelara. Your signal will be clear as day." Hera said.
Knowing what my signal was, I looked up to the dark sky and watched as fireworks exploded into beautiful colors.
"That's our cue, Atlas." I said.
Atlas nodded and walked deeper into the shadows of the alley we were in. Atlas looked up at the moons and howled. His howl echoed throughout the plains and city. In the distance, the other wolves started howling as well.
"Let's have some fun." I said.
Hopping off Atlas, I pushed my way to the front of the crowd and watched as Walkers and transports paraded down the street. I then felt a tug at my scarf. Looking down, I saw a little girl with raven hair.
"It is you! You're back!" she cried happily.
I smiled and patted her head.
"Do you want to see some real entertainment?" I asked.
"Yeah!" she cried.
Using my agility, I was able to scale a tall building in record time. When the AT-DP Walker got close enough, I jumped on top of it and made sure everyone could see me. I then ignited my lightsaber and raised it in the air. Everyone in the crowd looked up in awe. Hearing barking and howling, I looked down to see the Lothwolves emerge from the shadows.
"It's the Wolf Jedi! She has returned!" cried a citizen.
All the citizens started to cheer. When the stormtroopers tried to shoot at me, I would just deflect their blasts right back at them. Seeing the next firework go off, I jumped down from the Walker, but not before slicing the legs in two. Landing on Atlas's back, I watched as the AT-DP walker fell over.
"Try and catch us, Imperial scum!" I cried.
The wolves and Atlas soon disappeared into the shadows of the alley.
"Hey, save some fun for the rest of us." Sabine said through my commlink.
"Honestly, Sabine, you should know better. You cannot stop me when I'm having fun messing with the Empire." I said.
"Just try not to get killed while doing it." Ezra said.
I couldn't help but laugh. Atlas soon stopped when he saw the others.
"Everything's going according to plan." I said.
"Now it's time for phase-2." Hera said.
The others and I nodded in understanding. When Atlas howled, Strucker and Striker came from the shadows. Kanan and Ezra hopped on the two wolves, and then looked back at Hera.
"Here are the explosives for the transports and Walkers." Sabine said, tossing us each a small explosive.
"Thanks, Sabine." Ezra said.
"Meet us at the next rendezvous point when you're done." Hera said winking.
"Understood." Kanan said.
"Roger that, Hera." I said.
Patting Atlas, he sprinted into the shadows with Strucker and Striker in tow.
"So, how's your day going so far, Ezra?" I asked curiously.
"I feel so much better ever since I blew up that TIE fighter," Ezra said.
"Trust me, kid, your day's going to get a lot better." Kanan said.
"What's that supposed to mean?"
Kanan and I turned to each other and shared knowing grins. The three of us soon arrived at another part of the parade, watching behind a cluttered crowd.
"Get to your posts." I said.
When Ezra and Kanan nodded, Strucker and Striker scaled the two buildings next to me.
Lothwolves are powerful creatures. When I first saw Atlas scale a building, I was just as shocked as the next guy.
I looked up and watched as Kanan and Ezra threw the explosives. Ezra's hit an AT-DP and Kanan's hit a transport. Using the Force, I threw my explosive over the cluttered crowd and watched as it stuck onto a TIE fighter.
"Wait until they reach the square." I said into my commlink.
"Copy that, Zelara." Kanan said.
After a few minutes of waiting, I smiled widely when I heard the explosives go off.
"I can't see from where I'm at. How did the explosion look?" I asked.
"Big enough for the whole square to see." Kanan said.
"You know Zel, you're starting to sound like Sabine." Ezra said.
"Hey, I don't mind blowing up Imperial vehicles once in a while... And you can wipe that smug look on your face, Ezra."
Ezra couldn't help but laugh.
Hearing the kid laugh is proof that his day is getting better. It's about to get a whole lot better when we get back to the den.
"Great job, you three. We can see the explosion from here. Meet us at the rendezvous point." Hera said through my commlink.
"10/4 Hera. We're on our way." I said.
Atlas turned tails and sprinted across the plains when Strucker and Striker jumped down from the buildings.
"So, where is the rendezvous point?" Ezra said.
"You'll see when we get there." I said.
When we arrived at our destination, the boys and I hopped off and started making our way in the den.
"The Lothwolf den? Why is this the rendezvous point?" Ezra asked.
"You'll see." Kanan said.
"But, before you come in, you need to cover your eyes." I said.
"Why?"
I gave Ezra an annoying smug look. The teen rolled his eyes and soon covered them with his hands.
"When you hear a loud boom, only then can you uncover your eyes." I said.
"Whatever you say." Ezra said.
Walking away from the kid, I pointed to Sabine and smiled. The Mandalorian nodded and pressed down on a detonator button. When the firework went off, I watched as Ezra uncovered his eyes.
"SURPRISE!" we all cried.
A wide, surprised smile formed on Ezra's face when he looked around him.
"This is amazing!" Ezra said happily.
"Do you like it?" Kayla asked.
"I love it! Thanks everyone!"
Seeing the kid's bright smile warmed my heart. When the festivities commenced, I walked over to Kayla and the others and stood next to them.
"You guys did an amazing job." I commented.
"Thanks, Z." Diella said.
"When you have two Force wielders, doing this was a piece of cake." Isen said.
I nodded and turned my attention to the center of the den when I heard a lightsaber activate.
"Looks like Kanan and Ezra are about to duel." Nerezza said.
"Looks like it." I said, leaning my back against a rock wall.
My smile never left my face as Ezra and Kanan dueled. When Ezra reigned victorious, I walked over to the kid and pulled him into a side hug.
"Happy Birthday, Ezra." I said.
"Thanks, Zel." Ezra said.
I pulled away from the kid and smiled.
"So, does this beat ruining the Empire Day parade?" Zeb asked, walking towards us.
"By a landslide." Ezra answered.
"Good. Didn't want this party to go to waste." Sabine joked as she leaned on Ezra's shoulder.
Ezra smiled and nodded. Kanan, Hera, and Chopper soon walked over and stood next to us.
"Like your surprise, kid?" Kanan asked.
"I love it. I thought this was going to be yet another boring birthday, but you guys definitely proved me wrong." Ezra said.
"I'm glad we did." Hera said.
We all gave Ezra a large group hug. Chopper soon warbled and spun his dome.
"Huh, Chopper has a gift for you." I said.
"Really? This is unexpected." Ezra said.
In an instant, Chopper shocked Ezra with electricity. We all laughed at Chopper's prank gift, even Ezra.
"Guess I should've seen that coming!" Ezra laughed.
Ezra knelt and patted the astromech's dome.
"Thanks Chop." Ezra said.
Chopper warbled and spun his dome happily. I looked at Ezra and smiled and his smiling face.
That's the Ezra Bridger I know...
🎆Happy 4th of July/Independence Day🎆 And Happy Birthday to Ezra Bridger! Hope you enjoyed this part. Suggestions are forever open. May the Force be with You!
