Kali POV 

I decided to go for a walk to keep my mind off things. "Hmmm should I practice for tomorrow?" I asked myself. I heard a slight movement in the grass, something was near by. "I guess that's a yes." I said quietly. 

I lowered my body to the ground moving ever so slowly, wait for the perfect opportunity to pounce. I got closer and closer to the movement. I saw that it was a deer, a little bid a challenge but whatever.  Then I jumped, once it saw me it ran so naturally I went after it. 

I ran faster and faster but so did it. Soon It had no choice but to stop, a cliff blocked it's patch. It turned around shaking in fear, knowing what would come next.   I felt bad for it, I mean I don't have to kill it but...

Ugh, whatever. "Hey you go ahead and get out of here! Before I change my mind." I told it. "Oh thank you so much!" She told me. "Yeah, I can't kill a fawn like you." I told her. She suddenly had rage in her eyes as soon as I said that. 

"I am NOT a fawn!" She yelled. "But you still have your spots." I said. "That's because they have not gone away yet!" She told me. "Oh ok?" I said.

"What's your name?" She asked. "Uh Kali. Yours?" I asked. "Natalie." She answered. "Well nice meeting you bye." I walked off. 

"Hey wait!" She started to follow me. "What?" I said as I kept walking. "U-um do you think we could be friends?" She asked. I stopped. "What are you saying!? Me be friends with you I can't. I mean I'm a wolf your a deer, we hunt you. Aren't you afraid?" I asked. 

"Nope! Well not of you that is." She told me. I rolled my eyes and kept walking. "Sorry but no." I told her. "Please! I don't have that many friends where I'm from! Please?" She begged. "No can do." I said.  

She had been begging me for the past 10 minutes! "Fine! If I be friends with you will you shut it!?" I yelled. She smiled and nodded. "Ok now go home I'm sure your parents are worried." I told her. 

"I don't have parents." She said in a sad tone. My eyes widened. "Oh, I'm sorry." I told her. "It's fine, I'm doing well on my own!" She said smiling. 'poor thing, I shouldn't have been so mean to her.' I thought to myself

"What happened to them? If you don't mind me asking." I asked. "It's fine, They died when I was young. We were out in the meadow so there were no trees to hide us. We thought it would be safe it we went out just a little, but we heard those dogs coming and gun shots. We tried running but both my parents were killed right in front of me, a dog killed my mother and the hunter killed my dad." She explained.

"I'm so sorry that happened to you." I said to her. I didn't know what else to do. "Hey I'm sorry for being so mean earlier. If you want we can still be friends." I told her. 

"That would be nice" She said to smiling.

"Thank you."
