Chapter 3 : Unequal.

Logan sighed tired, as he spent most of the last night taking to Virgil and now he had to listen to his Mother and Father compare him to his brother Patton.

"And Patton has a girlfriend!" His Mother squealed.

Patton smiled sadly, only Logan knew he was gay and only he knew Patton had a boyfriend.

"Mom, it's because we get along every time we run into each other." Patton blushed.

"Yes, but I bet she's a looker! And I bet she's nice and-"

"Yes to all of what you're saying Dad."

Logan sighed as he sipped his tea, how he managed to stay awake until this time was beyond him. He was exhausted and they had stayed all day and night and now the next day - just talking.

Patton was clearly tired but their parents weren't.

The smart brother glanced up and smiled suddenly, it was the time already. Virgil was floating outside, with Moonlight on his broom.

The witch waved making him get up, "I'm going to get some fresh air."

The parents waved him off and gushed about Pattons new relationship with this 'girl'. 'Her' name was Romane, or Roman as Logan knew him.

Patton smiled, "come back soon, Lo."

Logan gave him a rare soft smile, "will do, Pat."

Logan closed the curtains and walked out, "salutations Virgil."

Virgil smiled and sat on the railing, "greetings Logan."

"How are you?"

The witch stared into Logan's eyes and pulled him closer, "what's wrong? You're upset."

Logan sighed and leaned against his new friend, "my parents. They love my brother and they hate me..."

Virgil hesitated but slowly brushed his hair, "but why?"

"Apparently, brains isn't what makes my patents happy, it's emotions and the fact my brother is in a relationship." Logan had always wished he could live up to his parents standards, and since he knew so little about emotions, he did that through being the best in studies, but even then it wasn't enough.

Virgil felt Logan's tense muscles, "well this won't do." He got in his broom and held out his hand, "do you trust me?"

Logan stared at his hand and gently took it, "yes."

"Then hold on." He pulled Logan onto the broom, nudging Moonlight further behind them and flew off.
