Chapter 2 : 3 AM.

Logan couldn't sleep. No matter how many times he tried, he just couldn't.

He tried warm milk, he tried 'counting sheep', he tried reading, until it got to 3 AM, which is when he decided to just be sleep deprived the next day.

He got dressed ready for tomorrow, black shirt and pants, with a dark blue tie.

Sighing, he picked up his half finished book and went out on his stone balcony. He looked down at the loud city of New York, with bright blinding light.

It was difficult to sleep here.

He leaned on the railing and began to read. He read and read until he heard a loud woosh.

He looked up.

There in front of him eye to eye, was a man his age, with all black clothing besides his blue pants, on a broom and looked like he just shot upwards as he floated in the air slightly before sitting down again.

"H-hi..."

Logan dropped his book, as it landed with a small thud.

"Salutations..."

The witch rubbed his neck, "my apologies... I didn't mean to scare you it's just... I like Agatha Christie as well?"

"You do?" Logan knelt and picked the book up.

"I do!" The witch stuck his hand out, "Virgil Black."

The man shook the pale hand, "Logan Crofters."

"You're a witch..." Logan stated.

The witch nodded, "I am. I'm so sorry I didn't mean to startle you-"

"No it's fine!" Logan smiled, "I just did think witches existed."

Virgil smiled, "Yeah well... we usually stay hidden but I saw your book and I-"

A loud hiss came from behind Virgil and pounced at Logan and landed in front of him.

"And who's this cutie?" Logan smiled, staring at the black and purple feline, unbeknownst to him he had a baby voice.

"Her name is Moonlight." Virgil smiled and petted her, "now be nice to Mr Crofters."

Moonlight glared up at him, and began nuzzling Logan's outstretched fingers and began purring.

"She liked you!" Smiled Virgil.

Logan smiled lightly, "she's gorgeous."

The sun began to come up making Virgil frown.

"Will you be coming back?"

"What? Tomorrow?"

Logan blushes, "only if you want!"

"I'd love to."
