Prologue

Story takes place after The Witcher 3, the ending where Ciri became a Witcher. The story also begins (about Chapter 2 or 3) in the book The Titan's Curse where they demigods rescue Nico and Bianca Di Angelo. Also, Percy's brother (who will come later) is 4 years younger than Percy. So everyone's ages are being pushed down 4 years making Percy the oldest.

The cold of winter nipped at Sally Jackson's nose as she briskly walked down the street. The wind howled, reaching through her heavy coat like phantom fingers groping for her skin.

She shivered, pulling her useless coat tighter around her as she plowed through the wind towards her home. It was late, much later than she would have liked but she needed as much money as she could get. So when her boss called overtime, well, she'd be stupid not to have taken it.

So now here she is, smelling of sweets and hastening home. She didn't have a car, nor enough money to hail a taxi, so instead she had to walk. She didn't mind any other time, but when it comes to nights like this, dark, howling cold wind, she wished she did.

She was a block from her house when she had the feeling of being followed. The hair on the back of her neck started to raise causing her to stop and quickly glance behind her. But nothing was there. She placed her hand on her heart, took a deep breath and sighed with relief.

Then, she heard a noise, her pounding heart quickened as she slowly turned back around. She sucked in her breath as she beheld the three very large men stood in her path, all about 7 feet tall and incredibly muscular. To any passers-by, it'd look like three abnormally large men mugging a woman. And it should look that way to Sally Jackson too. But she wasn't like other mortals. She had a rare gift, a gift that allows her eyes to pierce the veil between the mortal world and the mythological. And because of this gift. Instead of seeing three thugs before her, she saw three hungry cyclops.

She froze in place, fear gripping every inch of her body. Restraining, keeping her in place. Gagging, making sure she can't cry for help.

The one in the middle started sniffing the air. "Ugh, mortal." He muttered as he glared down at Sally.

"But don't you smell that? That tiny hint of... of demigod scent on her?" Said the one on the right, his mouth drooling as he stared at the mortal like she was a Las Vegas Buffet.

"Yes... so she must be a mother. Maybe we could take her, and the demigod will have no choice and cone after her. Then, we could eat them both!" The one on the left proposed. The other two turned their attention to him for a split second, then back to Sally with thoughtful looks on their faces.

She closed her eyes, her body shaking with fear as she whispered a prayer.

"Please, if anyone can hear me, please help me."

"Ha! No one can hear your prayers-"

Just as he said that, a woman appeared in a flash of green light. She wore an outfit that looked to be medieval or renaissance. But not a dress.

She wore a long sleeved white cotton shirt, a dark brown leather corset, gloves, and pants. The gloves also seemed to have suede and the pants had studs. Her healed, knee high boots where of a lighter shade of brown leather. She also had a decorative silver belt with turquoise blue gems adorning it, a snakes skin belt adorned with two leather travel bags and a dagger, and two swords strapped to her back. One was unmistakable silver, the other was possible steel. She had beautiful silvery hair tucked into a bun and gorgeous emerald green eyes. A large scar was beneath her left eye and curved from her cheek to her ear.

"Ooo, who is this?" The middle cyclops gloated. "Another snack?"

The new woman responded by unsheathing her silver blade and launched at him. She swiped her blade upwards, cutting the cyclops straight up the middle causing him to explode in golden dust.

"Huh, that's new." She said in an accent that kinda reminded Sally of a foreigner, from London she remembered.

"Bill! You... you just killed Bill!!!" One of the cyclops exclaimed. Fueled by anger, they both charged her. The ashen haired woman then vanished with a green flash and appeared behind the cyclops who spoke and slashed him across the back. He screamed and whipped around with his fist clenched. She vanished yet again and re-appeared a few feet above the other and slashed down wards, using the momentum of the fall to slash his head clean off as he bent over to help his comrade. Without breaking a stride, the woman then stabbed the last one in the heart. He screamed and disappeared in a puff of gold dust. A gust of wind blew through the streets and took the dust with it, and the woman watched the gold dance in the breeze like golden pixies. It was beautiful.

"Thank you." Sally breathed as the ashen haired woman sheathed her blade. The fear slowly dissolving now that the danger had blown over... literally.

"It was nothing." The woman panted, still staring off into the night until she could no longer see the dust.

"Is there anything I can do to repay you? Do you take cash? What do you desire?" Sally Jackson asked as she ran over to the woman. She turned her emerald eyes towards her, an appraising look in them.

"Where I come from." She started. "I'd be paid gold for a job like killing three cyclops, however; since you don't have my world's currency, there is another form of payment."

"anything." Sally replied, desperate to pay her life debt to the mysterious woman.

"It's called the Law of Surprises." She continued, crossing her arms and looking Sally up and down. "And I would like for you to give me the first thing that greets you when you return home."

Sally frowned at the request, but then nodded. "Alright. I will. Will you come home with me? Where will I find you?"

The woman thought about it for a bit before shrugging her shoulders. "Sure, why not?"

"I'm Sally by the way. Sally Jackson." Sally said with a small smile as she extended her hand. The other woman uncrossed her arms, stared at Sally for a few seconds before returning the look and grasping her hand.

"I'm Ciri. Or Cirilla Fiona Elen Riannon."

~☆~

Sally opened the door to her apparent with the ashen haired woman in tow. Ciri rushed inside, grateful for the warmth. Well, here we are, now... for your reward-"

"Ms. Jackson! Your back, and look who wishes to say hi!" A woman called as she rushed into the room. She had dirty blond hair and calf brown eyes. She wore a bright pink tank top and black yoga capris. Sally turned and looked down at the baby boy in her arms. Her face paled the first thing that greets me when I get home... and I doubt she means the door. Sally thought. The baby wriggled and giggled as he saw his mother.

"No.... nononononononono...."

"Sally? Are you alright?" The woman asked. She was one of Sally's dearest friends, and she's never seen her so afraid looking.

"Mia, please... hand me Percy. And leave."

"Sally..."

"Please..." tears stung her eyes as she stretched her arms out. Mia glared at Ciri as she growled, "fine!" And handed the baby to his mother before storming out and slamming the door shut.

Sally looked up at the astonished woman, who didn't know what to do. Tears stung her eyes as she slowly shuffled over to Ciri and offered her son with shaky hands.

"Sally-" Ciri whispered.

"No, please, take him. His name is Perseus. He'd be much safer with you than he ever could with me anyways... please. Those monsters... once they know who he is... what he is... they'll kill him before he reaches his first birthday. Please-"

"What do you mean Sally?" Ciri asked as she stared at the baby. Her wolf medallion (a gift after officially becoming a Witcher in place of her cat) vibrating as the baby came closer to her.

"He's..." Sally started, staring down at Percy with a motherly gaze. "He's the son of a god."

Ciri's arms dropped along with her mouth. "Wha- what? A... a god?"

Sally nodded and looked up at Ciri. "Must be a sign. He must go with you. He'll be safer with you. He can train to fight monsters... like you!"

"Ms. Jackson. If he comes with me, there is no guarantee that he'll ever come back. And even if he does-"

"I don't care!" Sally yelled, tears pouring down her cheeks. "I rather him be alive than watch him die by the hands of those creatures! And... and he's not old enough to go... Please take him before I change my mind! Now go! Please!" She said, turning away her head and thrusting the baby into her arms. Ciri clutched him close to her bosom and traveled back to her world. Unknowing that three goddesses of fate where watching, that they where the ones who brought her to the world, and destined the boy to become a Witcher.
