Old Love

Lillian tended to Geralt's wounds with all her love and care, and Yennefer couldn't help but be afraid of her. How could she have so much power?! She made two human beings explode, and she was still the old Lillian.

"I do not know whatever she is; she is something not from this world," Yennefer informed.

"Your father will need his rest, you two. Im sorry I scared you two. I... I know I'm not as perfect as I look, and I am a monster, but it doesn't mean I don't love you two, okay?" Lillian asked as she touched both of their faces with her hands.

"What are you, and don't lie to us; please, we deserve that much," Yennefer begged.

"My sweet, beautiful girl, I wish I could, but that will only hurt you. Even knowledge of what I am will put your lives on the line," she explained.

"Then why have us here? Why take us in if you are so dangerous?! It doesn't make any sense!" Yennefer snapped.

"Yennefer, this is one of her memories; to her, we might be small children," Jaskier informed.

"Because I lost my family... my parents died protecting my brothers and me. There were seven of us, but I had the most substantial gift. Two of my older brothers died alongside some witchers and witches and wizards that knew of our existence. Once the war was over, everyone was dead. My older brothers and I cared for the younger ones, and we ensured never to use our powers unless necessary.

I am old and will outlive your father; I will outlive your children, and maybe even their children. I have no idea actually how long I have to live... I told myself never to love anything like humans or elves, dwarfs, nothing but my family. But when I met your father, I fell in love with him. Your father stole my heart as soon as he looked at me. I never thought he would love me because of my life span or my powers, but he did. I told him everything once we got married. I thought about how greedy I was, and I didn't want to be greedy anymore with my heart. So I started taking in children whose parents didn't love them. I wish I had done so, even though I knew seeing them grow old and die would kill me inside. I wanted to give all of you something that I know now that if it weren't for your father, I would have died heartless.

I wanted you to have children of your own; I wanted to make sure you were safe and loved. I wanted to ensure that no matter what happened, you had someone there for you. Anatol is the only person that I think I could ever give my heart to, and I know when he dies, at least I will still remember how much he loved me and all of you. Both of us can't have children, and bad people can sometimes, even though they push hate on their children. I just wanted to ensure no child had to suffer from a parent's poor choice. I'm sorry really that I hid my past from you and my elder language from you, but I wanted to keep you safe.

People don't understand and attack everything differently from how they believe, think, or even look, which isn't fair. My parents were good people and healed humans, but they turned and deemed them evil for creating such foul creatures. We were just gifted with powers, nothing more.

When my family first saw Anatol, you should have seen their faces. Six-foot-eight giant who was covered in scars and looked like a murderer than a decent person than me. So small and fragile looking, it was an odd match. People were constantly warning me that he was going to kill me, but I always ignored it. My family was worried, but he was kind and gentle with me always and never raised his voice at me unless we were arguing over something stupid," she said with a weak smile.

"If you lost Anatol, could you find someone else?" Yennefer asked softly.

"I don't think so, but I know he would want me to. I might have to put a curse on me to forget my loss to do it, though," Lillian said with a soft smile.

Yennefer figured it out... she put a spell on herself, or maybe her love did when he was dying of old age. Yennefer wiped her tears away, and Lillian hugged them both tightly.

"I love you both so much, okay, don't ever forget that. I have lived more lifetimes than I care to admit, and I will gladly protect you all with my life," Lillian said as she kissed them both.

"Goodnight, my loves. I must rest; my powers I haven't used in a while, so I am a bit weaker than normal," she informed.

"It's okay; go and rest," Jaskier said as she nodded.

"Tell the others to behave, and you two are the eldest's in the house, so they must obey your attorney," she smiled.

"Don't worry; we will make sure the others stay in line, mother," yennefer informed.

"Good, remember to lock the doors, alright, we are in an inn, and monsters may come," she informed.

Lillian returned to the room she and Geralt were staying in and sighed weakly. People were such cruel creatures, and she hated it, but her children she was raised better, so maybe there was hope for the human race. Lillian stripped down after brushing her long blond hair and blew out the candle. She crawled into bed tiredly and cuddled him.

"I may lose you one day, but that will be when you are old," she muttered as she fell asleep beside him.

Morning came quickly, and Geralt felt like shit. His whole body hurt like hell, and he wanted to cut off some of his body parts. He sat up quickly, realizing he was back in the inn. He was baffled and then saw Lillian next to him. Naked. He had to check to ensure he didn't drink and hurt Lillian in any way, and thankfully, he had his pants on.

But she wasn't wearing any at all making his eyes wander a bit and want to look under the blanket again. He instead tried to sneak out of bed, but he was a big guy, so the bed was moving around a lot when he moved. Then the door opened wide.

"Lillian!" Jaskier yelled, waking her up and making her scream seeing Geralt on top of her.

"You perverted witcher! Wait, why am I in your room?! Why am I not decent?!" She screamed in terror.

"I can explain?" Geralt said more like a question.

Lillian burst into tears as she tried to hide her shame from them. As Geralt got up and Lillian ran out of the room with a blanket wrapped around her.

"Geralt, what were you doing?!" Jaskier asked.

"I was trying not to wake her up! You jackass, what the fuck did you need?!" He yelled.

"I got breakfast, and she needed to eat after she made two people explode," he said as he heard Lillian crying in her room.

"You couldn't have waited for a fucking second?! She made two people explode?" He asked.

"Yeah, to save you, she broke the legs of that wizard's guard and made him and his owl spy explode. It was alarming. Also, she had a memory, and if she didn't have it, you would have probably died," he informed.

"You knew she mistakes me for her husband, and you still barged in here?! What the fuck is wrong with you?!" He growled.

"Well, I thought she wouldn't be in here naked!" He informed.

"You never think, do you?!" He growled, punching him in the stomach.

He grabbed Lillian's dress and heard her sobbing when he knocked on the door.

"Lillian, I didn't see anything. I noticed you weren't wearing any clothes, so I tried to get over you without waking up so you wouldn't be embarrassed," he explained as she cried harder.

He didn't know how to deal with this, but he went into her room and saw her huddled by the bed, covered up.

"Lillian, I have your dress," he said as she was still crying.

"What am I going to tell Anatol? He will never forgive me for this," she cried as he put the dress on her bed.

"He will forgive you, Lillian. We didn't sleep together. You slept next to me," he informed.

"Would you believe your wife if she smelled like a different man?! I have to tell him secrets cause problems, and if I do say something, I know he would never forgive me,"  she cried.

"You have been married to him for at least a hundred years Lillian. I doubt he would throw all those years away. For me, I'm not husband material, so I would expect nothing less than the girl I was with to be sleeping around," he explained.

"Geralt, that's terrible; if you love someone, give them your all and not sleep around. It isn't that hard. You need to find the one and learn self-control. I don't know how you witchers work, but you can be loved. You just don't let people near you because it's easier to be hated than loved. You to stop thinking that way," Lillian said as he sighed.

If only it were that easy. Geralt wanted to be loved by her, but she was taken and would never cheat on her husband for him. It would be easy for him to be hated by her, but even though she did hate him sometimes, she would always come back and make him feel alright. Her husband was so lucky, he wished he got to her first, but he wasn't even born when they married or even when she and her husband met. Anatol had to be an old elf by now, but he knew she would still love him and never him.

"Come on, I still got to take you home," he informed as she sighed.
