After accepting his offer, Vitimir had been training Leon and teaching him more advanced techniques in brewing. Vitimir even taught him some athletic skills for when he's out in the field. Leon had told the gang about becoming Vitimir's protégé, and they were happy for him plus a little surprised that a coven head would be so sneaky when reporting to the emperor. Today, Leon was at the Library, brushing up on his Demon Realm history. He reads through quite a few books until he see's Luz and Crystal and decides to approach them.

Leon: Hey guys.

Luz: Oh, hey Leon.

Crystal: What's up, buddy?

Leon: Not much. Just refreshing my mind on some history before a test. What are you two doing?

Crystal: Mom is busy babysitting the Bat Queen's child, so she sent Luz and I to turn in some late books of hers.

Leon: The Bat Queen? Wow, that's amazing.

Luz: So, how's your new training going?

Leon: Pretty smoothly. Vitimir is great teacher. And a cool guy as well.

Crystal: I'm glad you're pushing your talents further.

Leon: Thanks.

???: What do you think you're doing?

Luz: *gasps* We've been caught. Pretend to be a book. *poses in a box shape*

Kids are heard giggling.

Crystal: Wait a minute.

Leon: I know that voice.

The three walk to investigate. Leon peeks his head from behind a wall, followed by Crystal above him, and Luz above her. The three see Amity reading to children.

Luz: Amity reading to children?

Crystal: Amity seems so...nice and smiley.

Leon: Maybe there really is more to her then I thought.

Amity finishes reading and the kids thank her before running off. Amity is about to walk off, until she notices the trio and gets her usual attitude again.

Amity: Ugh! You guys again!?

Leon: So, you read to kids? Didn't expect that from you.

Crystal: That's really sweet and motherly of you.

Luz: Looks like this sour lemon drop has a hidden sweet center.

Amity: It's for extra credit. Don't get your leggings in a bunch.

Leon: I'm confused. If you're this friendly with kids, why can't you be like that with us?

Luz: We could help with the kids. We could take turns reading. And do voices. I do the best *Robotic tone* monster voice.

Crystal: I actually know a thing or two about looking after kids. Believe me, I have to look after King and Luz.

Luz playfully punches Crystal as they laugh. Amity gets tired of listening to them and slams some books on the table.

Amity: Alright, listen here you three! Do you see me going to the Owl Shack and bugging you while you... fry up owls? *Scoffs.* Okay, I don't really know what you three do there, but every time you come near me, I get in trouble. Just leave me alone.

Luz: Sorry! Sorry!

Crystal: We didn't mean any trouble.

Luz and Crystal walk away, downtrodden. Leon looks at Amity as though he was about to say something, but just looks at her with disappointment before walking away. Amity starts to raise her hand to stop him, but doesn't.

Luz: So much for befriending rivals.

Leon: You can say that again.

???: You gonna let her get to you like that?

The trio turn around to see Edric and Emira who approach them. Leon and Crystal instantly smile and greet them.

Leon: Ed, Em, good to see you.

Crystal: It's always a joy when you're around.

Luz: I'm sorry but, who are you two?

Edric: Well-wishers on a mission.

Emira: A noble quest.

Edric: Watch this. Hey, Mittens.

Amity grunts as her face turns bright red. Leon and Crystal hold back their laughter from the sight.

Edric: *Holds up the lunch bag* Mom says stop forgetting your lunch. And stop being a jerk to your friends.

Amity: *Stalks over and grabs the bag* They are not my friends.

Luz looks down at the floor, but looks back up when Emira puts an arm around her.

Emira: Yeah, makes sense. They seem too cool for you.

Luz: I am?

Crystal: I guess if you think wanted witches are cool?

Leon: I'm not that cool. *scratches the back of his head, nervously*

Amity: You can leave now. All of you. *walks away*

Edric: So, you're the human that Leon and Crystal told us about.

Luz: *looks at Leon and Crystal* These two are friends of yours?

Leon: Yeah, I've met them during my first day at Hexside. We've been tight ever since.

Crystal: Leon introduced us during our first visit to Hexside. They're pretty cool.

Emira: Thank you, Crystal. *looks to Luz* I'm Emira. And this is Edric. We're Amity's older siblings. We heard how you embarrassed her at the school and at the witch last week. No wonder she hates you.

Luz: I know. But, uh, I didn't mean any of it. I thought we were as cool as cucumbers. But we're as sour as pickles.

Emira: Don't waste your time with Mittens. Me and Ed, we're way more fun. Follow us.

Leon: Don't worry, Luz. We're gonna have a lot of fun with them.

Crystal: *shrugs* I'm mostly here to keep you out of trouble.

Luz: Well, okay. I don't see why not?

The gang spend the next few minutes, pulling pranks around the library. During that time, Leon noticed Crystal blushing around Edric. Leon decided to bring that up later as they continue. Eventually the library staff and Amity find them and are kicked out.

Librarian: You've made reading far too fun. Now, stay out.

The door slams shut, leaving the gang outside. They stare for a bit before braking out into laughter.

Luz: Amity's even madder at me now. I didn't think that was possible.

Leon: Personally, I'm happy to finally get back at her for what she did to me.

Edric: No, when Mittens gets mad, she looks like this. *Inhales sharply, grunting as his face turns red; exhales* Whoa, I almost passed out.

Crystal: *giggles* That was kind of cute.

Edric blushes in response which makes Emira and Leon chuckle before blushing and smiling away from each other.

Emira: You're pretty fun, human.

Leon: We told you.

Crystal: Sometimes, I wished she was my sister.

Luz: Aww, Crystal.

The two hug and Leon smiles at the sight. The twins nod at each other before speaking again.

Emira: So, hey, we're coming back tonight. There's a certain book we forgot to... check out.

Edric: And bonus, rumor has it the Wailing Star's supposed to unlock some rare event. You in, friends?

Luz: Sure.

Crystal: I am curious about the Wailing Star.

Leon: I guess I have nothing better to do. I'm for some more fun.

Edric: Great. Meet back here at midnight. See you, guys.

Luz: Bye. This is great. First, I befriend the siblings then I befriend the Amity.

Crystal: Wish I had as much luck bonding.

Leon: *smirks* Does a certain green haired boy have something to do with it?

Crystal: *blushes* Shut up! I don't know what you're talking about!

Luz: Crystal, I saw you blushing around Edric as well.

Crystal: *sighs* Okay fine. I may have a tiny crush on him.

Leon: Ha! I knew it.

Crystal smirks and uses her magic to trip Leon with a vine.

Leon: You win this round, Crystal. Tell you what, I'll assist you when I can. Sound good?

Luz: I'll help if I can. I know a few romantic idea's from the books I read.

Crystal: Well, we'll see.

Leon: Alright, we'll meet up later tonight.

Crystal: See ya later.

Luz: Bye Leon.

The three go their separate ways to get ready for tonight. Unknown to them, Amity had been watching the whole time.

Amity: *holds her breath until her face turns red. grunts as she exhales* Phew! Almost passed out.

A few hours later, it is night time. Leon was on his way to the library to assist Edric and Emira. Leon was a little skeptical of why they were really sneaking in tonight. Eventually he shows up at the front of the library where Luz and Crystal were waiting.

Leon: How are you two doing?

Luz: Doing good. We're cool.

Leon: Good to hear. *opens his satchel to show some potions and ingredients* I packed a few things for an emergency. *closes satchel*

Luz: Always coming prepared.

Emira: That's always been one of his best assets.

The three look to see the twins walk up to them.

Leon: *chuckles* If I can't be the most powerful, then I'll be the smartest. I'm sure my mentor would agree.

Emira: I'm sure. But enough messing around, let's bring the fun inside.

The gang approach the front doors of the library.

Edric: It says no trespassing but I'm allergic to the rules. *Pulls out a piece of paper and hands it to Emira*

Leon/Emira: And Dairy. *blush and giggle at each other*

Edric: Wow, okay. Just expose me.

Crystal: That doesn't sound too bad.

Edric: I guess not?

Crystal giggles in response and Edric smiles.

Edric: I like it when you laugh.

Crystal: *blushes and smiles shyly* Thanks.

After Emira gets the door open by expanding the size of the lock, they all head inside as the lock shrinks back to normal. Inside, the place was dimly lit.

Luz: Standing in a dimly lit lobby. You guys know how to party.

Edric: There. The Wailing Star!

The wailing star flies past the stained glass window while staying true to it's name and wailing. Leon takes notice of the books starting to glow green. Crystal picks up a book of extinct birds on the Boiling Isles. She opens the book and a few birds fly out of the book and start flying around the lobby.

Crystal: This is beautiful.

Leon: Looks like the Wailing Star magicked the books to life.

Edric: Beautiful is right. Though I'm looking at someone even more beautiful. *looking at Crystal*

Crystal: *blushes and looks away* I'm not that beautiful.

Edric and Leon laugh in response. The gang start to have fun with some other books and were having a blast. Eventually while Luz is off on her own, Crystal finds one book that catches her interest which when opened creates a dance floor.

Crystal: Oh wow, a dance floor.

Edric: You like dancing?

Crystal: I love dancing. Don't you?

Edric: I've, actually never danced before. *blushes*

Crystal: Really?

From hearing that, Leon gets an idea. He pulls out his ocarina and starts playing a romantic tune. Crystal looks at Leon with confusion. Leon looks at her and nods towards Edric. Crystal realizes what he means and holds her hand out to Edric.

Crystal: Edric, you want me to show you how?

Edric: *smiles and blushes* Oh um, Okay. Sure. *takes her hand*

The two walk on the dance floor and face each other. The two start to dance as Leon continues to play. Edric is clearly nervous as he is having trouble. Crystal decides to calm him by having him look her in the eyes. He noticeably becomes more calm as he looks into her eyes. He quickly gets the hang of it and he and Crystal are slowly dancing on the dance floor. Leon watches as he continues to play and Emira smiles at the sight.

Emira: Aww, they look so sweet together. Don't you agree, Leon?

Leon nods in response as he keeps playing. Eventually the two stop and Leon finishes his song while Emira claps.

Emira: That was amazing, you two.

Crystal: Thanks, Em. *smiles at Edric* You learn quick, Ed. You're actually pretty cute this close.

Edric: *blushes and smiles* Thanks, Crystal. *looks to Leon* Thanks for the song, Leon.

Leon: No problem.

The gang quickly get back to work and even discover that they can alter the things that appear from the books by drawing in it. The gang eventually come across Luz, who was looking at the Otabin book.

Edric: Luz, check this out.

Emira: Look what we discovered.

Emira opens a book called Quacks Eats Snacks. A duck swims out of the pages and around the floor, quacking happily.

Luz: Aw. Cute little quackster.

Leon: Now, watch this.

Emira holds the book out to Edric, who has a pencil. He draws legs on the duck in the book. In the real world, the duck now has matching giant human legs. It quacks hysterically.

Emira: Now he's extra cute. *Closes the book*

The four of them laugh.

Emira: Your turn, Luz.

Leon/Crystal: Yeah. Wait, what?

Luz: *Backing away from them* I don't know.

Edric: *Offering his pencil* Come on. Don't stop the fun.

Leon: Guys, I don't like where this is going.

Crystal: Yeah, maybe we shouldn't mess with a kids book.

Luz takes the pencil hesitantly and opens Otabin. She looks at the drawing of him on the page.

Luz: *Sighs* I can't do it.

Edric: Let me help.

Leon/Crystal: Edric!

Luz grunts. Edric grabs her hand and draws angry eyebrows and claws on Otabin. Something starts to rise out of the pages, but Luz slams it closed.

Luz: *Grunts* I don't wanna see it.

Emira: Whatever. We didn't come here just to doodle. Come on.

Emira takes Luz's hand and leads the way. Luz drops the book face down. A clawed hand grows out of the book, and whatever it is growls. Cut to the gang in the romance section.

Luz: Oh, wow. Boiling Isles romance. That's totally lame. I mean, unless you guys are into it?

Crystal: I like romance stories.

Leon: They're okay.

Edric: I think I'm into this one.

Edric pulls a book titled The Lone Witch & Secret Room. Something clicks and the bookshelf sinks back and slides away, revealing a secret room.

Luz: Wow, that's a good book.

Leon, Luz, and Crystal enter and look around the room. Leon and Crystal were curious as to who this room belonged to since they along with Ed and Em had their own hideout right now that they planned to show to their friends later.

Luz: Your clubhouse is like my ultimate secret hideaway.

Edric: We don't hang out in a library. "Uh, teacher, I'm in love with a dictionary."

Emira: "I'm studying the dork arts." This is Amity's secret hideaway.

The three quickly get worried.

Edric: Mittens has gotten too... full of herself. She keeps tattling on us when we cut class.

Emira: She needs to learn not to mess with people like that. So, we're going to find her diary.

Edric: And then post the pages all around school for everyone to see.

Edric and Emira laugh.

Luz: What? Isn't that taking it a bit too far?

Emira: No. See, we're her family. It's tough love. She needs to learn to lighten up.

Leon: By prying into her personal life!?

Emira: Well yeah, we thought you of all people would enjoy this, Leon. Aren't you tired of her calling you "Not-a-Witch"?

Leon: Yeah, but I also never wanted to hurt her. You guys can continue if you want. I'm out of here.

Leon begins to walk away with an upset look which didn't go unnoticed by the others. Leon was clearly hurt as he walked until he gets worried when he bumps into Amity.

Leon: Amity!!! What are you doing here?!?

Amity: I was about to ask you the same thing, Brewer.

Leon: Well you see- *eyes widen in shock* Wait, did you just call me Brewer? You usually call me "Not-a-Witch".

Amity: Well yeah. You're a protégé to Vitimir, so I can't really call you "Not-a-Witch" anymore.

Leon: Oh, well thanks I guess.

Amity: Now if you'll excuse me, I need to find your friends. *walks past him*

Leon: *hops in front of her path* Hold on, maybe we could-

Amity uses her abomination magic to hold him in place while she walks off. Leon struggles to get loose by drinking a strength potion and ripping the goop off of himself. Leon quickly tries to catch up with Amity, but is too late as Amity had already chastised his friends for looking through her diary. She leaves as she walks past Leon, quickly giving Leon a sad look. Leon watches her leave before looking at Ed and Em with disappointment. Leon was clearly hurt when he walks away. Emira and Edric had confused looks and decided to follow after him.

Emira: Leon, wait!

Edric: What's wrong?

Leon looks at them as though he was about to say something, but comes up with something else. He reaches into his satchel and pulls out his journal. He opens it up to a certain page for the twins to see. With the magic of the wailing star, a smaller Leon pops out of the journal and speaks what is written.

(journal) Leon: I saw Ed and Em today. Do to the boiling rain, we were trapped in a cave. But, we did get to chat during that time. Plus, hanging out with them is always a joy. Ever since I met them, they were two of the best friends I've ever had. I feel like I can trust them to tell me anything.

Leon shuts the journal and the twins both had looks of guilt.

Emira: Leon. . . We're so sorry.

Edric: We didn't know we hurt you that much.

Leon: Well, you did. I thought I could trust you to be honest with me. But, you couldn't even tell me this.

Emira and Edric look down in guilt. Leon was about to leave but Emira quickly grabs his shoulder.

Emira: Leon, wait! I know we hurt you, but we never wanted that. We thought you'd want to get back at Amity like this. You're right, we were being selfish. Just please, we still want you around. We like having you around.

Edric: And We'll do whatever we can to make it up to you.

Leon thinks it over for a moment before looking back at Emira. Emira watches with worry on what he'll do. Leon then slowly starts to smile before hugging Emira. Emira blushes from the contact but hugs back.

Leon: I'm still not happy with what you did. And yes, you will need to make it up to me. But this is a start. Plus, I can't stay mad at you guys.

Emira: Thanks, Leon.

Edric: I think we'll start by apologizing to our friends.

Leon: That's a good start.

They suddenly hear footsteps and see Luz and Crystal running with a giant book that has Amity stuck to it. Emira and Edric quickly check on their sister with worry.

Leon: Luz, Crystal, what happened to Amity?

Luz: Well, remember when Edric drew in the Otabin book?

Crystal: Well, turns out that drawing came to life and is now trying to trap us in a book.

Leon: I told you, Ed!

Edric: Hey, I was just trying to have fun.

Amity: And look where that got us!

Emira: Relax, Mittens. We're gonna make this right. *pulls Amity's arm out of the book.*

Leon: Alright, do we have a plan to stop him?

Amity: Now that you guys are here, I believe so.

The gang huddle together as Amity tells them the plan. We now see Leon as well as the twins hiding behind some bookshelves where they see the monstrous Otabin searching for them. Leon see's Crystal nodding to them, signaling them to begin their part.

Leon: *whispering* Alright, remember the plan.

The twins nod before Leon ran up behind Otabin. Leon pulls out a speed potion before getting Otabin's attention.

Leon: Hey, Otabin!

Otabin: *turns to Leon* Friend!

Leon: Catch if you can!

Leon drinks the speed potion and quickly runs off with Otabin following. Leon quickly turns a couple corners while Otabin follows. Leon starts to slow down as they get to the lobby. Before Leon can get away, Otabin grabs at Leon. Only for his hand to pass through him.

Leon: *chuckles* Gotha good, didn't we?

Leon disappears, revealing that Leon to be an illusion made by the twins. Leon and the twins come out of hiding and shout.

Leon/Edric/Emira: Now guys!!!

Otabin goes towards them, but his arms are suddenly entangled in vines and abomination goop. Amity and Crystal are seen holding him down with their magic while Luz walks in with an empty page.

Luz: *writes on the page* "Luz has to right a wrong."

As she finishes the sentence, a giant easer appears and Luz catches it. She begins to walk up to the book in Otabin's chest to erase the drawings to the picture. Before she could though, Otabin rips his vine entangled arm out and smacks away Luz and Amity to free himself. Crystal quickly tries to get away but gets grabbed by Otabin.

Crystal: Let me go!

Otabin: We must stay friends until the end. There is no tear I cannot mend.

Crystal: Guys, help me!

Leon: We're on it!

While the twins use some illusions to keep Otabin busy, Leon pulls out a flash bang potion while Luz places a light glyph on it.

Luz: Make this shot count.

Leon: You got it.

Amity: Let me give you a boost, Brewer.

Leon nods and runs forward. Amity creates a platform of goop for Leon to jump off of to get close.

Leon: Crystal, shield your eyes!

Crystal does what he says and covers her eyes. Leon tosses the potion at Otabin's face which creates a blinding flash upon impact. Otabin growls and covers his eyes which causes him to release Crystal who starts falling. Crystal braced for impact but was quickly caught by Edric.

Edric: Are you okay?

Crystal: *face goes red* Y-yeah, thank you.

Leon: Luz, get him while he's blinded!

Luz nods and runs forward, quickly erasing the drawing. Otabin turns back to normal as his book falls to the floor. Amity picks up Otabin who looked scared.

Otabin: I'm so sorry. I don't know what came over me.

Amity: Hey, it's okay. We're still friends.

Amity nods to Luz, who closes the book. Otabin disappears, making Amity look sad. Luz walks over to her and grins. They along with Emira and Leon notice that Edric is still holding Crystal and they chuckle.

Edric: What?

Crystal: *still blushing* Um, you can put me down now.

Edric: *blushes* Oh right, sorry.

Edric sets Crystal down as she stands up and dusts herself off. Cut to the gang leave the library as the morning sun is seen rising from beyond the horizon.

Luz: What an adventure. Thanks for helping clean up.

Leon: No problem.

Crystal: I'm always willing to help.

Edric: It's the least we can do after what we caused.

Emira: So, are we good, Leon.

Leon: We're good.

Amity: This never happened.

Luz: Wait. It doesn't make up for reading your diary but would you wanna borrow this? *Holds out Azura 5* Crystal noticed you only had up to four.

Amity: *Takes it.* Thank you. *Starts to walk away, stops; sighs and turns around.* Maybe you aren't a bully. I haven't exactly been the friendliest witch either. Which reminds me. *faces Leon* Leon, I wanted to say I'm sorry. For how I treated you since you arrived. I'm gonna do my best to make it up to you, to all of you.

Leon: Thanks, Amity. I'll be honest, your skills aren't half bad.

Amity: You're pretty cool yourself, Brewer.

Leon: *smirks* Is that my nickname from now on?

Amity: I'll stick with it. See you later.

Amity walks away while the gang watch.

Luz: Well, Crystal and I better get going to.

Crystal: We'll see you later.

Luz/Edric/Emira: Bye!!

Luz and Crystal walk off and head home. Leon and the twins part ways as well. Leon walks thinks to himself while he walks home.

Leon: This is a new beginning for you, Amity. Don't miss your chance.
