CHAPTER FOURTEEN-NINE: THE END OF SOMETHING

You and Five kept your eyes on Lila as she kept the knife in front of herself as the others followed behind Diego.

"The Handler stole you, Lila. Just like our asshole father took all of us, just like he tried to steal Tilly" Diego said as he walked closer to her "No. It's not the same thing" Lila said as she had the knife pointed at all the others around her.

"You're right. Because he didn't have our parents murdered" Diego said as he put his hands out towards her "Listen to me, Lila. You were born October 1, 1989, the same day as all of us" he said as everyone stepped closer to her "Stay back!" she shouted while still holding the knife as the rest surrounded them.

Luther moved so he was near you with Allison followed next to him.

"Hey! Hey, stop! Wait. Wait. Hey!" Diego shouted, trying to calm Lila down as Klaus, Vanya, Luther and Allison circled around Lila while keeping a distance from her.

"Lila? Lila, stop" Diego said "I trusted you" Lila said with tears in her eyes "I got you a job, I even introduced you to my mother, and then you took off on me" she said "Because I needed to save the world!" Diego said out loud and Lila lowered the knife while Diego let out a sigh.

"She's using you, Lila. The Handler" he said "You're wrong" Lila said as she shook her head "She raised me. She loves me" she said "Yeah, you know what?" Luther said and Lila looked at him "Love shouldn't have to hurt this much" he said causing you and Five to look at each other.

Lila stared at him before she opened her mouth and she did a fake gag while making a gag noise at his words causing his face to drop "All right, I tried" he said "He's right. We have to kill her" Five said and stepped closer to her, inching up on her "Hey! Five! Five, stop" Diego shouted at him and Five stopped "I got it" he said and Five glanced at Diego before looking back at Lila, wanted to give Diego the chance but was still ready.

"Hey, Lila" Diego as he looked back at her and she looked at him "Truth? She's dangerous. And you're scared of what she'll do with all that new power. That's why you dragged me to The Commission. Because I know what it's like to love dangerous people" he said.

"I know the feeling" both Five and you said inside your heads before you glanced at each other and gave each other a quick smile.

"Difference is..." Diego said and glanced at his siblings before he looked back at Lila "They love me back" he finished "Shut up" Lila said as she pointed the knife at him again.

"The only thing she loves is power. Now, the minute she can't use you, she will turn on you, and deep down, I know you know that" Diego said and Lila shook her head "You don't know me, Diego" she said and he stepped closer to her so the knife touched his jacket and the blade was inches from his chest "Don't I?" he asked and you could see the tears in Lila's eyes.

He then took another step towards her "I know that we can be your family...if you just let us" he said and she looked at the others who smiled at her.

Lila looked at Vanya then at Klaus who shrugged with a nod. Lila then looked over at Luther and Allison who smiled.

Lila was sniffling when she looked back at Diego.

But suddenly there was gunshots that rang out and you were the first one to get shot "NOOO!" Five cried out as Lila dodged to the ground while bullets was flying around.

The bullets hit Amy, you and the siblings and you all fell on the ground dead leaving all but Lila who had fallen on her knees to avoid the bullets.

Lila removed her hand that was in front of her face before her eyes landed on Diego's dead body.

"Diego, no..." she said, her voice trembled and she moved over to him before she place her hands on his chest while she was sobbing and sniffling over his dead body.

The Handler walked farther into the barn "Aww" she said in a mocking voice as she looked at Lila sobbing over Diego's body.

"It's true, what Five said, isn't it?" Lila asked "Darling, I need to know that we can get past this, be a happy family again. Hmm?" The Handler said with a smile.

Lila kept her eyes on The Handler as she got up before she glanced around to look at you and the siblings who was all laying on the ground in your own pool of blood.

"They're my real family" Lila said as she looked back at The Handler before she stepped closer to her "Do you even love me?" Lila asked.

The Handler didn't respond but the cold and loveless in her eyes showed Lila the truth, that everything Diego and Five have told her was true. The Handler only loved power, she didn't love or care about anything or anyone other than herself and power.

Lila swung her knife at her but without even a flinch, The Handler shot her in the torso two times, causing Lila to let out a grunt before she fell to the ground.

The Handler walked over to Lila's dead body "Que será, será" she said.

Five let out a softly gasp as he opened his eyes. He was still alive, but barely and he could feel the pain from the bullets wounds while his was laying in his own pool of blood as he was bleeding down from his mouth.

Five then heard someone let out a softly gasp so he turned his head, looking to the left to see you laying next to him not far away.

You were laying in your own pool of blood that got bigger and bigger. 

Your right hand were stretched out as if you were reaching out for him

You turned your heard to look at him and he saw that you were was bleeding out of your mouth.

He could see you were suffering.

The pain from the bullets wounds didn't hurt Five. It hurt him seeing you laying there injured and dying in front him. It hurt him seeing you suffer like that.

"Love..." was the only thing he could say. The Handler heard him and looked over to see Five still alive but dying.

"Oh, good" she said with a smile as she walked over to him.

Five stretched his left arm out for your and he was just close enough for him to lace his fingers together with yours.

"You're still alive" The Handler said before she stopped when she was close enough.

The Handler looked at you before she pointed the gun at you.

For one in a very long time, Five was scared. He hadn't felt this scared since he accidentally got trapped in the apocalypse.

Everyone just fought the entire Commission because of something Five had done, something that The Handler made him do with the promise of getting his family home and now he watched as his family and the person he has grown to care about, the one who had nursing his wounds, too weak to get up from the ground of the abandoned barn.

Five laid on the ground, his ribs pulsating in pain as he looked over at you. The Handler had shot you in the stomach and was now standing over you, pointing her gun to your face while you stared up at her as if you were waiting for her to pull the trigger.

You and Five looked at each other "I...love...you" you mumbled and tears felled from Five's eyes before he closed his eyes as The Handler pulled the trigger.

When the sound were gone, Five opened his eyes and he saw that your eyes were opened but you were no longer breathing.

Blood was dripping out from your mouth "No" Five said while sobbing as a tear felled from his eyes.

This was the second time you had died in front of him and the third time he has seen your dead body and it didn't hurt less or the same way, it hurt more.

He have just lost his reason to live. His only purpose was to be with you and protect you with everything he has in him, so he could prevent that nightmares that still haunts him every time he close his eyes, about you dying in front of him to happen again. But again he failed. You were his life, his world, his best friend, his first and only love, his other half and his everything.

This couldn't be happing again, after you promised him that you would never leave him, but the love of his life was now laying dead next to him and again Five felt the pain running through his body as he was looking at your dead body, it felt like being stab by thousand of knives.

I know nothing at all

This can't be real, you couldn't be dead again, but you were and again he didn't get the chance to tell you, he didn't get the chance to tell you how much he love you.

And I will stumble and fall
I'm still learning to love
Just starting to crawl

You have being the only one and was still the only one that really saw the light in his darkness, you have being the one that made him whole again and you were the only one that could make him happy.

You were both his biggest weakness and biggest strength.

And I will swallow my pride
You're the one that I love
And I'm saying goodbye

His weakness because whatever you gets yourself in danger, worries him all the time. If something bad happen to you, he wouldn't know what do to with himself. When you are not with him, his focus is on you, all the time thinking if you are safe and okay. You was the one he loved the most, you mean everything to him and he would do anything to keep you safe, and he would lose his mind and broke down if he lost you.

And I'm sorry that I couldn't get to you

His strength because you were his reason to live, to fight and to never give up. Five needed you, he wanted to start a life with you, live your dream. Marry you. Maybe have kids with you. Grow old with you. He wanted to live the rest of his life with you.

He needs you, you were keeping him sane, whole and keeping his humanity alive, just as much as he was keeping you happy, whole and in control.

Again Five had experienced the most painful thing he could, watching the woman he love, his world, the love of his life, his happiness, his reason to live, his hope for a wonderful future, his other half, his best friend, his sunshine, Natalie Eversun die in front of him.

The Handler looked at your lifeless body "She's dead. Lucky you. Not so lucky for her" The Handler said before she shot another bullet at your heart.

"Yeah, definitely dead now" she said before looking back at Five.

"Ah, how sad" The Handler said sarcastic "It must be hard seeing your girlfriend die in front of you, twice, is it? If I knew that it would be so easy to kill her, I would have done it a long time ago" she asked and Five looked at her "But don't worry, you will see her again soon" she said with a smile "You got to see how this all played out" she said and Five stared at her.

Five's eyes burned with a mix of anger and grief as he glared at the Handler. His pain and sorrow were almost too much to bear.

He was trying to say something but as the puddle of his own blood grew underneath him, he couldn't get any words out and he was only choking.

The Handler then pointed the gun at Five's head.

Five really didn't care if he died or not right now. He was tired and exhausted. He just wanted to rest, maybe this was the only way.

He have just lost you and his siblings, they were all dead now. He had nothing to live for now. He have lost his family. And he didn't know how to go on without them. So The Handler was doing him a favor because now he could be with his family and with you again.

But before The Handler could pull the trigger, someone else shot her in her torso from behind causing Five to let out a gasp as his eyes widened while The Handler let out a sharply gasp.

The sound of a weapon cocking was heard and The Handler turned around to see Axel, the oldest and last of The Swedes, entering the barn with a gun in his hands.

Axel raised his gun again before he shot The Handler again, one in the heart and two times in her chest.

The Handler felled dead to the ground and onto her side as a trail of blood ran out of her mouth.

Axel walked farther into the barn, approaching The Handler as he looked down at her dead body.

He then looked at Five who panting softly as he was struggling to stay alive even so the other part of him, just wanted to give up.

Axel aimed his gun at Five, ready to shoot him to put him out of his misery.

Five stared at the gun, he believe that he deserved it more than the others.

Maybe this was for the best and now he could see you again and be with you forever in the afterlife.

So he just took a deep breath like he was ready to meet his end.

"This doesn't have to be the end. We use my ability to time travel"

"You're the genius who said we should jump. Right? You're the one who got us stuck here"

Five remember the conversation he had with his dad. "Maybe your appetite is disproportionate to the size of your abilities. Start small. Seconds, not decades"

Five decided to take his father's advice and focused on small leaps measured in seconds.

He didn't hesitated as he took a deep breath, getting ready to use his powers.

So he started to think about you and how much he love you and thinking of you and the chance to bring you back, gave him the motivation, the strength, hope and a will to do it.

Five held on tight to your hand and allowed your voice to replay in his mind. He listened to your voice, telling him what to do, if he could do it.

Five couldn't just lay there and do nothing. He took a deep breath and used the rest of his strength to slowly turn back time, turning back the minute until a few minutes earlier where everyone was okay and The Handler was distracted.

Five won't let you get hurt again.  

He looked back at Axel before he let out a painful gasp as he lifted his head and the sound of energy thrumming crackling was heard while blue light appeared around his fists.

While hearing your voice replaying around in his head and the thought of you, the thought of being able to bring you back Five forced himself to get up, still holding on tight to your hand which caused him to pull you along as he ran slowly towards the barn's door in slow motion while blue light was glowing around him as everything around him started rewind slowly and his family started to rose up from the ground around him as the bullets left their bodies and returned to the gun they were fired from.

Even so pain was running through his body, he still did it. Even so it hurt, he did it to save his family, to save you.

Five did what his dad have told him and rewind second by second. He turned back the clock, only seconds.

He appeared with a thud against the barn door and he pressed his hands against his chest to see that the bullets wounds was gone. He then looked around the barn at his family that was standing around Lila and Diego, all still alive.

Five turned to see you standing by the barn door, still alive. He was still holding your hand which caused him to let out a small breath of relief when he saw that you were alive again.

You looked over at Five when you heard him thud against the barn wall next to the door.

You let go of his hand before you looked confused at him, wondering how he got there. You didn't understand how Five have blinked to the other side without you notice.

"How in hell did he got over there so quickly" you said but Five didn't answer. He could only think that you were alive, he didn't deserve such happiness in his life. He would never have know that you had come back in another time, but now he would.

"I know that we can be your family if you just let us" Diego said to Lila.

When The Handler appeared by the barn's door, Five's hand grabbed the end of the gun as The Hander pointed it at the family.

The Handler let out a gasp as Five pulled the gun out of her hands before he stepped back as he pointed the gun at her while Klaus did some karate chopping movement.

The Handler raised her hands next to her head as everyone turned to look at her.

"It's ture, isn't it?" Lila asked and The Handler looked at her "What Five said" Lila said and The Handler glanced back at Five.

"Answer me! Is it ture?" Lila asked "Well--" The Handler said but suddenly a round of bullets were shot through the barn doors.

The bullets flew through The Handler's stomach causing her to grunt softly before she fell to the ground on her side, blood coming out of her mouth as everyone let out a gasps while silence filled the barn and tears slipped down Lila's eyes.

Lila then ran towards the briefcase that The Handler had dropped and Luther's eyes widened "The case!" he shouted as he ran towards Lila "NO!" Diego shouted before he tackled Luther so they both felled down on the ground and Luther landed on top of Diego.

Lila grabbed the briefcase before she turned to look at Diego and the sound of energy whoosh was heard as Lila disappeared in a blue light.

The sound of a weapon cocking was heard and Five faced Axel while the gun pointed at him and Axel pointed his gun at Five.

Axel stared at Five, like he was challenging him with the next move.

Five stared at Axel with the gun pointing at him when something hit him. It was like he didn't want to shoot Axel. Five could feel that this wasn't him, he wasn't that person that work for The Commission anymore, he wasn't a killer anymore and he didn't want to be that person anymore.

And he could thanks it all to you, after that he have came back and be with you, his humanity had came back, you have brought it back and you have make him feel things again. You have giving him hope, brought the light back to him again and showed him the right way.

Five could finally be with you again, he could finally have that life with you, that life he always wanted but never thought he could have and now he had the chance, and he didn't want to risk it or lose you again.

Five knew that if he pulled the trigger, he would risk becoming the person he once was and he knew that if he did that, he would lose you and he didn't want to risk losing something so valuable and so important to him, ever again.

Five could feel that he wasn't a killer anymore and he would never be that person again, he was done with all that, forever. No more of that, he have had enough.

So he let go of the gun with his right hand before he lowered the gun and dropped it to the ground by his feet causing the weapon to made a thud sound as it hit the ground "Enough" he said.

Axel glanced at the family before he looked back at Five "Enough" he said in Swedish before he dropped the gun and left.

Luther put his hands on Diego's chest before looking at him who was laying underneath him "I almost had her. Why the hell did you stop me?" Luther asked "Because...I love her" Diego said.

Luther then stood up and Diego turned around before he spotted a brown beaded bracelet that laid on the ground.

It was that bracelet that Diego made back at the mental institution that Lila took and have carried around.

"Who the hell was that guy?" Klaus asked as Diego picked up the bracelet.

"VANYA! HELP!" Sissy cried out "Harlan" Vanya said before she ran to the bottom part of the barn, you and the others following her.

You all saw Harlan sitting inside a mini force field.

Vanya jumped through the force and landed next to Harlan who had his knees pulled up to his chest and his arms wrapped around them.

"Harlan? Harlan. Whatever it is I gave you, I can take it back, okay? We just, we need to stop this" she said and Harlan let out a softly whimpered.

Vanya took her hands away from him before she moved them above his knees.

She took a deep breath before she closed her eyes and a sound of high-pitched tone was heard. Her hands were pulled to Harlan's knees like magnets causing Vanya's eyes to open.

Golden energy orbs travled around Harlan's body got transported into Vanya's. The veins in her hands turned bright blue as the orbs entered her system.

Then there was a bright light that sent Vanya backwards while a small energy wave came from Harlan as the force field disappeared.

Harlan looked around, looking both confused and scared. Vanya smiled as he looked at her.

He looked at his mom who smiled "Oh, baby. Oh, baby. Oh!" she said as she rushed over to him, giving him a hug.

Vanya looked back at her family that smiled proud at her "That was cool" Amy said with a smile.

You and Five looked at each other and he touched your face, stroking his finger down your cheek. You smiled but by exhaustion you fell down on your knee, your entire body have lost energy.

But before you could hit the ground, Five caught you.

"Tilly" Klaus said and him and Amy was about to rushed over and help you but Five snapped his head at him causing him to stop "I got this" he said.

You were breathing heavily as your body began to shut down from the exhaustion. You couldn't help it when you fell onto his chest. You always felt comfort when you were near him.

Five then laid you on his lap, your head pressed against his chest, listening to his heartbeat. He ran his finger through your hair, also just as exhausted.

"We did it" he whispered to you "We did it" he said which caused you to smile before placing a hand on his cheek.

You pushed a strand of his hair away from his face, your eyes never felt his green ones, just as beautiful as the first time you saw him.

You and Five smiled to each other while you pressed your foreheads against one another, holding your hands tighter.

"In the end it all comes down to you, your mindset, your attitude, and your choices. You have to decide and figure out what kind of person you want to be and what person you will be proud of and happy to be. Not based on everyone else's opinions but yours and yours alone. When you figure that out, then you are one step closer to becoming the best version of yourself"
