CHAPTER TWENTY-EIGHT: THE FRANKEL FOOTAGE

You were sitting outside the bording school, hugging your knees while sobbing.

"You okay?" a voice said and you looked up to see Toby, looking down at you while he had his hands in his pockets.

"Go away" you sob, but instead he sat down next to you "What's wrong?" he asked but you kept sobbing.

"Hey, you can tell me" he said as he moved closer to you "I'm a monster and a freak, a witch" you sob "No, no, you are not" Toby said "Yeah, I am Toby, just admit it" you said as you looked at him "My powers can kill" you said "So can mine, I mean I can control elements, so I can kill people too" he said "Yeah, but your powers are different, mine is made to destroy and kill, not create" you said.

"Well, I don't see them as dangerous and neither does Sabrina" he said "Everyone else does" you said "Don't listen to what everyone else say or think, only focus on what you think of yourself" he said and you looked at him "You need to see the beauty in your powers and not the danger in them. I do the same, that's how I control them, plus I have an anchor" he said "An anchor?" you asked "An anchor is someone or something you care a lot about more than anything and anyone else. It work better if the anchor is a person. That person is someone who you want to protect with your life, someone who can pull you back from the darkness. Someone who is important to you, someone you love" he said "What if I don't have one?" you asked "Then you be your own anchor until you find the one. Or you find a focus point, a happy memory, a voice, even a song can work sometimes" he said and you nodded.

Toby then looked around making sure that nobody was around.

"Watch this" he said before he looked at the small lake in front of you and he lifted up his hands, moving a small part of the water up in the air.

He then got up before he walked down to the empty lake as the water was floating in mid air.

"What are you doing?" you asked as he bent down picking something up from the ground before walking back to you.

As soon as he sat down next to you, the water fell down from the air, returning to the lake.

"Here" Toby said as he opened his palm to see a round small black stone "What is that?" you asked "You are like this" he said "Like a stone?" you asked "That's how other people see you and because of that you also see yourself like that, but...." he said before he opened the stone.

Inside the stone was there a beautiful bright red stone crystal.

"I see you as this" he said and you looked at him "You need to see yourself as this, Nat. Don't listen to what others think or say. Believe in yourself" he said before he moved the stone towards you "For you" he said and you took the stone from him before you looked at the bright red crystal inside.

"It's beautiful" you said "That it's how I see you and that's how I see your powers. Beautiful" he said and you looked at him.

"Don't let your fear control you, but you control your fear and you can do anything" he said before he looked at you.

"I'm not gonna leave you Nat or would I ever see you as a monster. I will always be here for you and so will Sabrina" he said and you smiled.

For four years almost five, you have know Sabrina and Toby, and you have never imanged that you would fall for one of them.

Toby was kind and sweet and he had a kind heart and soul.

Right there, you realized that you had falling in love with Toby.

He reminded you about someone you knew.

The next morning you, Amy, Five and Elliott were in the living room.

"Elliott, did you develop these photos yourself?" Five asked as he was looking at the photos of the others while Elliott was eating some oatmeal.

"Of course. Can't exactly drop that stuff off at the neighborhood Fotomat. Government has eyes everywhere" Elliott said as he was eating some oatmeal while Five picked up the tape.

"I didn't see a darkroom" Five turned around to look at Elliott "He converted the hallway closet" you pointed towards the hallway before taking a sip of your coffee as Five looked at you. 

You don't know why, but you felt awkward and nervous around Five. 

But it was a good feeling, you felt like you know him from somewhere but you couldn't remember where.

Five picked up a black pen and scribbled out the date above the title of the tape making a squealing feedback sound as he stepped closer to Elliott who was messing with the knobs.

"Can you develop this?" he asked, showing the tape to Elliott "Hmm" Elliott said as he turned to Five before he grabbed the tape with his free hand and flipped it over, to read the back "Huh' Frankel Footage' Friends of your?" Elliott asked "Cousins on my robot mother's side" Five answered "You have a robot mother?" you asked "Yeah I do and you knew her too, you saw her as a second mother" Five said "Wait, I have a mother" you said "Yeah" Five said with a nod as he took a quick look at you before he looked back at Elliott "Can you do it or not?" he asked.

"Sure I can" Elliott answered "How long?" Five asked "Well, I mean, I'm running low on acetic acid" Elliott said as he turned around, taking some slowly steps "Beeker's Cameras is open today, but it's two miles away" he said as he was moving his head "I mean, I'd have to take the bus. On the other hand, Gibson's is only ten blocks away, but I gotta cut through the park, and there's pigeons--" "Elliott" Five said, cutting him off, telling him to get to the point. "It's like five, maybe six hours" Elliott said.

Then a voice came over the radio "Attention all units, we hav a code 3-15 at the Holbrook Sanitarium" the man over the radio said and Five and Elliott turned to the radio "The hell is a code 3-15?" Five asked "Fugitives on the run" you answered and Five glanced at you "Wait, how did I know that?" you asked, a little confused while Five let out a small smile.

Elliott and Five then walked over to the radio before Five turned up the volume.

"Twenty-five patients still at large. Many are considered armed and dangerous" the man said.

"Oh, Diego" Five whispered "Oh, who's Diego?" Elliott asked "Imagine Batman, then aim lower" Five said while he lowered his hand.

"Is Diego the one in the picture that is wearing black clothes?" you asked and Five nodded "Diego it's our idiotic brother" he said "Wait. We're siblings?" you asked "Well, not by blood. And the two of us never saw each other as siblings. We were best friends" Five said before he looked at Elliott "You get started on the film" he said before he walked to the kitchen 

"You can start trying to remembering your real memories Na...I mean Emily, I'll help you as soon as I got Diego. I'll be back as soon as I can" he said before he blinked away.

"I'm so confused right now" you said "He is a weird little dude" Amy said "I don't think he is weird, he is a cute one" you said causing Amy to look at you.

"Are you attracted to him, Emily?" she asked "I don't know, I just have this weird feeling telling me that I know him from somewhere. I feel drawn and connected to him" you said before you looked at Amy "Is that wrong?" you asked "Listen to your heart and instincts 'cause they never lie" Amy said and you nodded.

A song was softly playing over the radio as Diego and his inmate friend Lila was sitting in a car, just watching a building.

"All right, here's the plan: Oswald finishes his shift at 4:30 p.m. Once he walks out those doors we force him into the front seat" Diego said "I'm in the front seat" Lila said "Okay, fine. In the back seat. You're gonna pin his arms, I'm gonna cut off his trigger finger and tell him he had 24 hours to exit Dallas" Diego said "That's your plan?" Lila asked "You got a problem with it?" Diego asked "Well, why don't we just kill him?" Lila asked "What?" Diego asked "I mean, you think he's gonna shoot the president, right?" Lila said "Right" Diego said "Fine, so we kill him. Put a bullet between his eyes. Problem solved" Lila said "Oh, no, no, we're not going to kill a man before he's committed a crime" Diego said "That's stupid" Lila said.

"Excuse me?" Diego asked "In fact, your whole plan is stupid. What, chopping off a guy's finger?" Lila said "No, it's not just any finger, it's his trigger finger, all right? You can't shoot a gun without a trigger finger" Diego said "What if he's ambidextrous? How do you get through a day?" Lila asked "Get out. I can do this on my own" Diego said "Dr. Moncton was right, this hero complex is no joke" Lila said "That is not what this is about" Diego said "Of course it is. You want to prove to Daddy that you're big success" Lila said "Not, you don't know anything about me" Diego said "I know everything about you. You...You are an open book written for very dumb children" Lila said "I'm not trying to be a hero, okay?" Diego said.

Then suddenly Five appeared in the back seat behind them, but they didn't noticed him.

"Then why are you doing this?" Lila asked "Because he is an idiot" Five said causing Lila to jump and turned around to see Five behind them.

"Who the hell are you?" Lila asked in her English accent before looking around, wondering how the boy got inside the car without them noticing.

"Hi. I'm his loving brother" Five said, waving while giving her a fake smile.

"Who left me to rot in the nuthouse" Diego said "To protect you from yourself" Five said "That's quite sweet" Lila said "Okay, both of you, out" Diego said and Five looked at him "Lose the crazy lady and come with me. We have important business" he said "I'm not going anywhere with you" Diego said.

Five looked to his left to look out the window and he spotted a police officer that was walking down the path opposite them.

"Okay, fine" he said before he moved over to the window and stuck his head out with a mischievous smile "Officer!" he called out "Hey!" Diego said quietly, grabbing Five's arm before pulling him back "What are you doing?" he asked as he reached over the front seat to lean closer to Five.

"I hear there's a reward out for you two" Five said "He's bluffing" Lila said and Five narrowed his eyes at Diego that was staring at him.

"He's not. Fine. I'll go with you" Diego said "What about me?" Lila asked causing the two to look at her "And I'm bringing the crazy lady" Diego said causing Lila to smile.

"So where are we going?" Diego asked "Back to that alleyway you landed in. There is a building there owned by a guy named Elliott. And also you'll be surprised to see who is also there" Five said with a smile.

"Okay, they are back, you two hide in the bedroom, I will deal with them" Elliott said "Maybe we should just listen to them" you said "No. Hide now" Elliott said as he push you and Amy into the bedroom before he closed the door and grabbed his rifle.

Five, Lila and Diego walked up the stairs.

When they reached the top and walked into the living room, they stopped before looking around.

"Where did you get the film?" Elliott asked as he walked into the room with a rifle pointing at them "The Frankel Footage' The truth this time" he said "You know this lunatic?" Diego asked Five.

"New acquaintance. He's harmless" Five said "Are you sure about that?" Lila asked as she was looking at Elliott that was pointing the rifle at them which cause her to think otherwise.

"Are you or are you not an enemy of the people?" Elliott asked and the four started at him.

Five and Diego glanced at each other "Such an open-ended question, yeah" Diego said "It really depends on the people" Five said.

"You move one more muscle, I will blow your brains out" Elliott threatened "You want to take this or should I?" Diego asked while looking down at his hands as he nodded his head to Five "No, I got him" Five said.

"Hey, Lila..." Diego said causing Lila to look at him and while he was distracting her, Five blinked away.

He appeared in front of Elliott, grabbing the gun before pushing the rifle up causing Elliott to shoot the ceiling making dust fell from the ceiling above them and Diego took a step forwards, grabbing the rifle from Elliott as he let out a gasp.

"What the hell just happened?" Lila asked confused as she had her hands up while Diego empty the rifle, making the bullets fall to the floor.

"I heard gunshot, maybe Elliott is hurt" you said "Okay, we're not staying here" Amy said and she was about to open the door but then you opened the door with your powers causing Amy to let out a gasp as her eyes widened "How the hell did you just do that?" she asked as she looked back at you and she noticed that your eyes stop glowing red "I have no idea" you said.

Maybe what Five told Amy was true.

"Stay here" she said but you didn't listen as you walked passed her and into the living room.

As soon as Diego saw you, his jaw dropped and he rubbed his eyes to make sure that it was real "Talie" he said and you looked at them.

Something about him seem really familiar. 

"I see you"

"I'm glad I have sister like you" 

"Did you hurt Elliott. If you have I'm gonna kill you" you said but then Diego dropped the gun before he walked over to you causing Amy to moved her hand on a butter knife that was laying on the kitchen table which caused Five to glare at Amy ready for action if Amy decided to do something.

"Do I know you? You seems really familiar" you said but Diego just wrapped his arm around you.

"You're alive. Thank God" he said before he pulled away "I thought I was never going to see you again" he said before he kissed your forehead which caused Amy to move her hand away from the knife and Five to relax a bit.

You just froze the entire time, confused in what was happening.

Five smiled at the sight, he knew how closed you and Diego were when you were kids and he was never jealous over how closed a friendship you had with Diego.

Of course there was a few times, where a small part of him was jealous over how closed you and Diego were, but he knew that you and Diego saw each as siblings and nothing else. 

But right now, he felt a bit jealous and sad at the same time over that he was not the one hugging you. He really wish that he was the one hugging you and kissing your forehead instead of Diego. 

Lila's eyes widened in surprise "Shit, she's still alive. I thought I killed her" she whispered so quiet that no one could hear her.

You and Sabrina was getting ready for another ball at the college.

"Are you gonna ask Riley for a dance?" you asked and she looked at you "What?" you asked "You can't deny it Sabrina, I know you have a crush on her" you said "I don't have a crush on her" she said "Well, I have notice the look you sometimes sent her" you said "Well, it's just a small crush, beside there is another one I feel more attracted to, so much I think I have feelings for her" she said "Who?" you asked "Not gonna tell" she said "Why not, come on Sabrina, we have being best friends since we were 14, come on, you can tell me. I told you about mine" you said "That was different" she said "No it was not. Come on tell. I wouldn't say anything, I promise" you said "Okay, I'm gonna ask her for a dance at the ball and you will see why it have being so hard for me" she said "Okay. Can't wait to see who you have eyes for" you said as you looked yourself in the mirror and Sabrina looked at you with small smile.

Then it knocked on the door and you walked over before opening the door to reveal Toby in a black suit. He smiled to you which cause your cheek to turn red.

"I'm here to pick up two ladies and take them to a ball" Toby said with a smile "We still need to fix my hair" Sabrina said "That will take hours" he said and Sabrina sent her brother an angry glanced.

"Just come on" he said "Come on Sabrina, you look beautiful" you said "You think?" she asked "Of course, you look better than me, you always have" you said "Stop that Nat, you look beautiful too" he said and you smiled as you look back at him.

"Okay, let's go before I feel like the third wheel" Sabrina said before she walked over to the two of you.

You and Sabrina hooked your arm with Toby's before the two of you started walking towards the ball.

"Hate has 4 letter, so does love. Enemies has 7 letters, so does friends. Lying has 5 letters, so does truth. Negative has 8 letters so does positive. Under has 5 so does above. Cry has 3 so does joy. Anger has 5 so does happy. Right has 5 letter so does wrong. Hurt has 4 letters so does heal. It means life is like double edged sword..So transform every negative side into an aura of positivity. We should choose the better side of the life"
