CHAPTER THIRTEEN: I KNOW WHAT YOUR HAPPINESS IS

You were 13 years old and you had just had a fight with your mom about that you saw Five and the others behind your mom's back and she had then told you to forget them but you have told her that you refuse 'cause Five was the best thing that has ever happen to you.

You were sitting over in a corner in your bedroom, hugging your knees while crying.

It has only being a few hours, and you miss the siblings especially Five.

You had your eyes closed and you kept wishing that Five was here while you kept crying.

As you kept crying, two red mist-like shapes appeared on your hands and red energy came out of you and it covered your whole room before the red energy formed something in the middle of your room.

A figure began to take shape from your powers.

Your wishing that Five was here which make the figure to begin to take the shape of a human body.

"Nat" a voice said which caused you to look up and your eyes widened when you saw that the red energy had formed Five. 

"Five" you said as you got up before you ran over to him, wrapping your arms around him.

But then he started turning into red energy whisps again causing you to pull away "No" you said with tears in your eyes and Five looked at his hands to see them slowly turning into red energy whisps before fading away.

He then looked at you and you lifted your hands before putting them on his cheek as he did the same.

"I'm lost without you" 

You and Five just stood there looking into each other's eyes as Five turned into red energy whisps before fading away.

When he disappeared, you felled down on your knees before you started sobbing.

You were sitting in the backseat while Luther and Five was sitting in the front seat as Luther stopped the car at the place where they were going to be meeting Hazel and Cha-Cha.

Five took off his seatbelts and he looked around as silence filled the car.

"You know, I never enjoyed it" he started "What?" Luther asked as he turned to look at Five "The killing" Five said before turning to look forwards "I mean, I were...I were good at my work, and I...I took pride in it" Five said before he look at Luther again "But it never gave me pleasure" he said and let out a sigh "I think it was all those years alone. Solitude can do funny things to the mind" he said and you looked at Five.

You know how it felt, in those six months you spend recovering, while locking yourself in your room, you felt lonely, of course you had your mom but you still felt lonely, but of course it don't beat being all alone in an apocalypse for so many years. 

"Yeah, well, you were gone for such a long time. I only spent four years on the moon, but that was more than enough. It's being alone that breaks you" Luther said before he looked down at the briefcase "You think they'll buy it?" he asked before he started messing with the briefcase on the center console.

"Well, what I do know is that they're desperate. It's like a cop losing his gun, if The Commission finds out, they'll be in deep shit. Oh, not to mention the fact that they'll be stuck here until they get it backthey have no chocie but to take the bait" Five said "And if they found out it is fake?" Luther asked "Then we're already dead. So, let's hope they don't" Five said.

"Well, I should hold onto it" Luther said "Hm" Five said "In case they make a move on you" Luther said " Okay, Luther, but be careful" Five said.

Then you heard a car approaching and you three looked forward to see a car driving towards them "Here we go" Five said as you three saw a car come driving down the hilled road.

The three of you got of the car as the other car drove past your car before stopping not far away and Five let out a sigh before he walked over to Luther "If this goes sideways, do me a favor and tell Delores I'm sorry" he said "Why do I feel like Delores would just be laughing if this plan fails" you mumbled before you look at Five "Don't worry Five, I will take good care of her" you smiled and he sent you a smile back.

"Please stay here" he said and you nodded.

The sound of car doors opened was heard and Five looked over at Hazel and Cha-Cha getting out of the car.

Five then turned around and walked towards Hazel and Cha-Cha while you stayed behind with Luther.

"The masks really necessary?" Five asked them as he met them in middel and Hazel and Cha-Cha took off their mask before throwing them to the side.

"So where is it, kid?" Cha-Cha asked "Wow, that's how you're gonna start. You know, we can get right back in our car and call it a day" Five said as he glanced back at Luther and the car before looking back at Hazel and Cha-Cha "You won't even make it halfway there" Cha-Cha said and pulled up a gun.

"Maybe. But as I'm sure you found out in your previous foray, my brother is not your average giant" Five said "He's right. You dropped a chandelier on him, got right back up" Hazel said "By the time you took him out, he'd smash your precious briefcase to a pulp" Five said.

"Probably us too, right? So, how do we help each other?" Hazel asked "I need you to get in contact with your superior so we can have a chat with her face-to-face" Five said "About what?" Cha-Cha asked "Well, I don't believe that's any of your concern" Five said.

'I can't believe I'm even listening to this adult man in a body of a schoolboy in shorts, but he is the most danger assassin so we shouldn't underestimate him'

You blinked in confusing, did you just read Cha-Cha's mind? How come? You had never had the power to read minds before, why suddenly now?

'I will not let them hurt Natalie again'

You raised a brow in confusing, did you just also read Five's mind.

You tried to read his mind again, but it was blank. Maybe it was just a hallucinating.

It would not be the first time your mind is messing with you.

There was that time where you lost control at the college and you were only able to calm down 'cause you saw a hallucinating of a young boy that looked like Five, but you couldn't see his face, so you couldn't be sure, he told you to calm down and you did.

Then there was a time, you don't remember it of course, but it was after you were forbid in seeing Five and his siblings. That week where you didn't see them. You were crying in a corner every night and you kept wishing that Five was here.

As you kept crying, two red mist-like shapes appeared on your hands and red energy came out of you and it covered your whole room before the red energy formed something in the middle of your room.

Then you heard Five's voice and as you looked up you saw that the red energy had formed another version of Five. It was only for a few seconds, until he turned into red energy whips again before he disappeared, but he was there, right in front of you.

"Just don't tell her about the briefcase" Cha-Cha said "Fair enough" Five said and Cha-Cha lowered her gun before her and Hazel turned around while Five turned around, walking over to you and Luther.

"What happens now?" Luther asked as Cha-Cha was standing by a phone booth "Now we wait" Five answered.

But suddenly you heard a ice-cream truck chimes playing 'Ride of the Walkyries'

"Do you guys hear the music or is it just me?" you asked the two and the three of you turned around to see a ice-crem truck came driving towards you while everyone looked confused at the ice-cream truck.

"What is a ice-cream trunk doing here?" you asked in confusing

"Is that her?" Luther asked Five and as the truck drove passed you three, you saw Klaus in the driver seat with Diego next to him and Klaus waved with a smile at you, Luther and Five as he drove past them.

Luther gave him a small wave with a confused look while you and Five just look confused "What the hell?" you asked.

"What the hell is he doing here?" Five asked "Go faster" Diego said who was sitting next to Klaus "Whee!" Ben said.

"It's a setup!" Cha-Cha said as her and Hazel pulled up their guns before they started shooting.

Five's instincts and reflex kick in and he quickly grabbed your hand before he pulled you behind him while Luther went in front of Five.

The truck hit Cha-Cha and Hazel causing them to fall back making them let out a groaned before everything slowed down until it all stopped.

Five furrowed his brows as he bended down to look under Luther's arm.

He saw Hazel and Cha-Cha were suspended in mid-air, Luther and you didn't move a bit.

Five dodged under his arm before he walked in front of Luther while looking forwards as Hazel and Cha-Cha was still in mid-air and Five looked at you and Luther who still wasn't moving.

Five kept looking at you. 'Why can't I take my eyes off you or get you out of my head?'

"Neat trick, isn't it?" a voice asked and Five turned to the right to see The Handler with a briecase in her left hand.

Five let out a sigh before he put his hands in his pockets as he walked over to her before he stopped when he were few feet in front of the woman that recruited him.

The Handler lifted the lace out of her face and onto her small hat, before taking of her sunglasses.

"Hello, Five. You look good all things considered" she said "It's good to see you again" Five said sarcastically.

"Feels like we met just yesterday. Course, you were a little bit older then. Congratulations on the age regression, by the way. Very clever. Threw us all off the scent" The Handler said "Ah, well, I wish I could take credit. I just miscalculated the time dilation projections, and...Well, you know. Here I am" Five said before taking his hands out of his pockets and he lifted his arms out to the side.

"You realize your efforts are futile" The Handler said before she put her briefcase behind her back "So why don't you tell me what you really want?" she asked and Five put his hands behind his back "I want you to put stop to it" he said "You realize what you're asking for is next impossible, even for me. What's meant to be is meant to be. That's our raison d'étre" she said.

But then Five put his hand to his waist, grabbing out a pistol before bringing it up, aiming it at her "Oh yeah? Well, how about survival as a raison?" he asked.

"I'll just be replaced. I'm but a...smal cog in a machine" she said and took a step closer to him "This fantasy you had been nurturing about summoning up your family and some strange girl to stop the apocalypse...is just that. A fantasy" she said as she looked right at Five.

"I must say, though, we're all quite impressed with your initiative, your...stick-to-itiveness, really quite...quite something. Which is why we want to offer you a new position back at the Commission, in management" she said and Five chuckled "Sorry. What was that now?" he asked as he still had the gun pointed at her "Come back to work for us again. You know it's where you belong" she said as she took another step towards him.

"Well, it's didn't work out too well the last time" he said "But you wouldn't be in the correction division any longer. I'm talking about...the home office. You'd have the best health and pension, and an end to this ceaseless travel. You're a distinguished professional in" The Handler said before looking down at Five's shorts "...schoolboy shorts. We have technology to reverse the process. I mean, you...you can't be happy like this" The Handler said as she put her hands on his gun before lowering it

"I'm not looking for happy" Five said "We're all looking for happy" she said as she slid her hand down Five's cheek before she looked over at you.

"Got a new friend I can see" she said and Five turned his head to look at you.

"You seemed busy lately. Oh how I never saw her coming, but I could have figure she would appear into your life again, the future is going to change because of her" she said "What?" Five asked.    

"I bet she's also looking for happy" she said before she looked at your eyes that was glowing a bit red "Red eyes. Quite lovely and beautiful" she said.

"Leave her out of this" Five said, raising his voice and The Handler was about to touch your cheek but Five grabbed her wrist before he push it away "Don't. Touch. Her" he said.

"I know what your happiness is" she said "What?" he asked "Your true happiness is to live a peaceful, long, happy, beautiful and wonderful life without any problems, with her" she said as she pointed at you.

"You are in love with her, aren't you?" she asked and he glanced at her "I can see it in your eyes, Five. You can't deny it or hide it. You really love her, more than anything, and she mean the world to you. Am I right?" she asked.

"I just met her" he said "That is not quite true" she said "What do you mean?" he asked "Well, did you know that you have actually know her longer" The Handler said "What?" Five asked "You don't remember, of course you don't" she said and Five raised his eyebrow in confusing.

"Well, anyway. We can make that happen. We can make you...yourself again" she said and Five sighed "And what about my family?" he asked "What about them?" she asked "I want them to survive" he said and The Handler sighed as she looked around, her eyes looked at Luther before she looked at Klaus and Diego.

"All of them?" she asked as she looked back at Five "Yes, all of them" Five said before he paused "Especially Natalie Eversun..." "Especially?" The Handler asked as she looked over at you "Yes, especially Natalie" Five said and The Handler looked back at him "Why her?" she asked "Just because" he said "Just because" she said with a chuckled "There has to be a reason you want to spare her, I mean of all the other women in the timeline and the world, why her?" she asked "Because--" he said but stopped himself.

"You care about her or should I say that you are in love with her?" she asked and he raised an brow "I can see it in your eyes, you can't deny it" she said "Yeah, I care about her, all right? Just---just make sure that she and my family survives" he said.

She grabbed her sunglasses from her pocket before she put them on "Well...I'll see what I can do" she said before she stretched her arm out ready for him to shake her hand "Do we have a deal?" she asked.

"One thing" Five said before he put his gun away as he walked over and lifted up the gun that was laying on the ground. He took out its cartridge and threw away the cartridge to the right before he threw the empty gun to the left and The Handler checked her watch as Five glanced at you.

"Mm...no" he said as he walked the other way towards the bullet that was in mid-air and moved it out of the way so it would miss Luther and you.

Five then looked at you before he walked to you "Natalie, I don't even know if you can hear me. But if you can, then I'm so sorry. I will be back, I promise. Just please stay safe 'cause there is something important you and I have to do. The both us have to find out why we feel so drawn to each other and why we both have a feeling that we have know each other longer" he said before he put something in his pocket as he looked at you.

The Handler was right, even so he has only know you for a day, he felt like he have know you his whole life. He was in love with you and he would do anything to keep you safe.

Five then walked back to The Handler who put her hand out and he shook her hand before the two blinked away with a whooshes and a zaps.

As soon as they were gone everything became unfrozen.

Hazel and Cha-Cha felled to the ground as Klaus crashed the truck into their car "Good God!" Klaus said.

You looked to the left to see that Five was gone "Five?" you asked, looking around as you were trying to spot him, but he was nowhere to be found.

"Where the hell is that Short Pants" you said

"Natalie, where is Five?" Luther asked "I don't know. I can't see him" you said.

Hazel and Cha-Cha got up and Luther lifted up the briefcase "Come get it!" he said before throwing the briefcase to the side and Cha-Cha ran after it.

You and Luther ran over help Diego and Klaus who got out of the truck a little dizzy.

"Come on. Come on" Klaus said "Wait. My feet hurt" Diego said as Luther and Klaus help him out of the truck "Where the hell are you guys doing here?" Klaus asked as the three of you ran towards the car.

Hazel picked up the gun and pulled the trigger but nothing happen other that the gun making a clicking noise saying that it didn't had any bullets "No! Shit!" Hazel said.

"Get in the car" Luther said and four of you got into the car before Luther got into the driver seat "Luther, go! GO!" Klaus shouted and Luther started the engine.

Klaus turned around and gave Hazel the finger before the siblings drove away.

You looked out of the window of the car, thinking about Five

'I'm so sorry. I will be back, I promise. Just please stay safe cause there is something important you and I have to do. The both us had to find out why we feel so drawn to each other and why we both have a feeling that we have know each other longer'

Then you felt something in your pocket so you pulled up a piece of paper from your pocket.

You saw that something was writting on the paper and it was Five's handwritting.

'Natalie

I know this is a lot to explain and be in person then in a note. Yet here I am, doing this note. I know doing this would result in me leaving again, leaving you again. I want nothing else more in this world then knowing you will be safe and happy, but I know doing this you won't feel it either. I promised you that I will come back for you and the others, you just need to give me some time. I will be back as soon as I can. And please, please stay safe while I am away'

Five'

You and Five were 13 years old and you were both sitting on the couch when the door bell rang.

Reginald walked over and opened it to see a very angry Ella "I'm angry too. We should both have know that it would happen" Reginald said "Where is she?" Ella asked aggressive.

"Natalie, your mom is here" Reginald said and you looked at Five "Goodbye Five Hargreeves. Thank you for everything. You are the best things that have ever happen to me" you said before you got up and walked towards the door.

As you approached your mom, you could see on her face how furious she was.

When you were closed enough, she grabbed your hand tight.

"WAIT!" Five called out as he ran towards you but Reginald hold his arm out, stopping him.

"Please let us say goodbye" Five said as he looked at his dad and you looked at your mom "Please mom, let us say goodbye " you said and the two adults nodded before Ella let go of you.

You and Five walked towards each other, before you wrapped your arms around each other.

Tears was showing in your eyes "I'm so sorry" he said "It's not your fault. Thank you for the best years of my life" you said.

"One day, when I'm older and no one cares about what I do, I'm gonna find you, alright Nat. I will find you, no matter how long I have to look and no matter how long it take, I will find my way back to you" he said, sobbing a bit "We will find each other" you said, also sobbing a bit before you pull away "If we really are that connected to each other that your siblings says we are, then no matter what happens, no matter how many years will past, no matter where we are in the world. We will always find each other again" you said and he nodded before he pulled you in for a hug again "We are tied together" you said "Like a invisible thread. Like two magnets, two puzzle pieces" he said "Yeah, we have a strong and unbreakable bond and connection" you said.

"I love you" he mumbled but you couldn't hear him since his face was buried into your chest.

"I love you" you mumbled, but he couldn't hear you cause your face was also buried into his chest.

Then Ella grabbed your shoulder "Come on" she said angry "No" you said as both you and Five had your arms wrapped tight around each other.

"Come on" Ella said more aggressive as she wrapped her arms around your torso, pulling you out of Five's grib.

But you and Five then grabbed each other's hand, holding tight "No" you both said as Reginald was trying to pull Five away while your mom was trying to pull you away from Five.

It was hard causing your hands was holding tight with your fingers lacing together while the two adults was trying to separate the two young teens who both had tears in their eyes.

"NO, FIVE!" you cried out as your fingers was pulled from each other "NAT. NO!" Five cried out and Reginald wrapped both arms around Five's torso, so he couldn't blink.

"FIVE!"

"NAT!"

"This will not be the last time we see each other, I promise you Nat. We will see each other again. I will make sure of it! I will not let anything or anyone tear us apart. I will see you again, I promise!" Five said out loud as Reginald was holding him back "I will never forget you Five" you cried as your mom was dragging you away "And I will never forget you!" Five cried out.

Ella then put you into her car before she locked the door, hurried to the other side and got in.

You tried to opened the door but it was lock. Five then mangaged to get out of his dad's grip "Number Five!" Reginald called out as Five rushed over to the car before he put his hand on the window on the side you were sitting. You looked at him before putting your hand on the window, in front of his hand.

If the window wasn't there, your hands would have touch.

Tears streaming down from both your eyes and his eyes "I love you. I will love you forever" Five mumbled while sobbing as Ella started the car before driving away. 

Five was about to run after the car but then Reginald grabbed him "No. Let me go" Five said as Reginald lifted him up "No. Let me go" Five cried as he was waving with his arms and legs, trying to get out of his grip but his dad was too strong.

Five tried to blink but it was like he couldn't 'cause of his emotions right now.

Reginald was able to get back into the Academy before he put Five down and closed the door "Let me go, she needs me" he cried "No, you're not allow to see Natalie anymore, I forbid you to see her" Reginald said "You can't do that!" Five shouted "Yes I can. I'm your dad" Reginald said "Not my real dad!" Five shouted as tears was running down from his eyes.

"Stop crying like a baby and get ready for training, 'cause what you just did, you will train two hours more and wake up at 05:00. am, to train more and do more chores" Reginald "I don't fucking care!" Five shouted "I forbid you to see Natalie anymore. If you do, you will get punish" Reginald said "I don't fucking care. You can't keep us apart!" Five shouted "Yes I can. I want you forget about her" Reginald said "I will never forget about her. She is the best thing that has ever happen to me. And when I'm old enough I will leave this place, find my Nat and then the two of us will run away together, far away from you!" Five shouted "You have to forget her. She makes you weak, you make her weak" Reginald said "That is not true, she is making me strong, just like I'm making her strong. I will never forget her. Never in a million years!" Five shouted.

The shouting caught the other kids' attention and they all got out of their room before they walked over to the stairs to see Five and Reginald shouting at each other.

"Go up to your room and you stay here. No dinner for you tonight. Put your pyjamas on and get ready for bed. I will come tell you later what kind of punishment you will get tomorrow" Reginald said and Five turned around before he rushed up the stairs.

"Five, are you okay?" Vanya asked but Five ignored his siblings as he angry rushed past them before rushing to his room, slamming the door in anger.

"Poor Five" Klaus said "KIDS, GO TO YOUR ROOM NOW!" Reginald said and the six kids turned around before going to their rooms.

Five kicked his nightstand "FUCK YOU DAD!" he shouted before he leaned his back against the door, he tugged his hair in sadness as he slid down on the floor while he started crying. 

He had just lost you, his best friend, his childhood crush, his light and sun, his better half, his world, his first and only love.

Five put his arms on his knees before he lowered his head as he started sobbing.

No, he refused, he wouldn't let your mom and his dad tear you apart, tomorrow night when everyone is asleep, he will blink to your house and then you and him will time travel together, go far far away from Reginald and your mom. Live your life together where no one can ruin it for you.

He wouldn't let anything or anyone tear the two of you apart. He will find you, no matter what, no matter how many years will pass, he will find you.

"Trust and respect, the two easiest things in life for someone to lose and the hardest things to get back"
