I was sitting beside the fire when I heard a voice behind me. It was somewhat girly but full of pain.

I turned around. Not far away from me, I saw a girl, her hand on her head, blood streaming down her fingers and a dark figure behind her in the dark, maybe of a boy holding a rod. Blood was dripping down the rod.

I took a glance at the girly figure. What if its a trap? What if all this is just an illusion to keep you away from your destination? my mind said. 

'No, it isn't.', I murmured most likely to myself as I ran towards her direction.

The girl was on the verge to fall, I caught her as fast as possible with my hands. She looked into my eyes and then she blacked out. I looked around searching for the person who did this. But to my surprise, he was gone. There wasn't a trace of him.

I don't know what happened to me, but my blood boiled by looking at her. My mind commanded me to avenge her. It felt to me like I had some old bond with this girl, an unknown, unspoken bond.

My heart raced at its full speed. You have to treat the girl, my subconsciousness yelled at me.

I treated the girl. I laid her beside the fire to keep her warm. I stopped her bleeding by tying some leaves around her head. After I was done, I thought of taking rest.

I laid beside her. I looked at the sky glimmering with countless stars in it. My eyes roamed from one direction to another. The sky looked beautiful without the clouds of pollution of the city, just like my mum said. MY MOM.

How much I missed her? The thought of my family hooked up to me, memories of the past flooded back into my mind. They are all gone. GONE! I didn't realize that a tear has escaped from my eyes.

I sat up, looked at my destination. Tomorrow, I will go there and will do my job. With that, my eyes closed shut and I was lost in my dreams.

I woke up at the sound of a scream. I saw where the scream came from, it belonged to that girl. She was trying to sit but was unable because her hand was trapped in the mud.

I helped her sit but she punched me hard in the stomach. I stepped away. This girl has power. The punch was really hard and it actually hurt. I got the feeling it would be hard to get her going with me.

"Wait. You've got to stop. Please. Just once listen to what I am saying. Then you are all free. The decision will be yours. You just have to listen to the condition." I said calmly.

She looked at me, her eyes boring into mine. She was so close. I could feel her faint breathing. I was now able to see her long golden hair, "So you saved me yesterday. Thanks." she said with a poker face, her voice just as cold and emotionless as her face.

She then turned her eyes away from my face and focused them on the mansion so far. I knew it. It was her destination too.

I looked at her expectantly. She saw me staring at her and asked me what's my problem.

'Nothing!' I said quickly.

"Are you going to listen to my condition?" I asked expectantly.

"Okay! Say what you have to say."

Still the same tone and the same face. I wondered if she even knew how to make expressions or how to talk in different tones. Anyways...

"I need your help in reaching my destination, you see the mansion over there, I want to reach there and in response to your help I will guard you against whoever that person was.

"After reaching the mansion, which is even your destination, we're on our own. We have our own motives, our own ways. So you do what you have to do and I will do what I'm assigned to do. Then we're like I-never-knew-you. Deal?"

After a long silence, she finally spoke, "I think you are right. Deal!"

'Deal!'

"That's good. Now have some rest. You're in no condition to start now. And by the way, the name's Alex."

"Whatever, I don't care. And also I don't need your advice, we're going now, right now. Now stand up. I will lead the path."

I don't understand why she had such a sky touching attitude. Can't she be a little sweet? Whatever, why do I care? All my life, I've learned to ignore people's feeling or their thoughts about me. Now, what do I care?

Well, maybe the girl's got fire in her tongue., my subconsciousness stated. 'Shut up!' I ordered.

She stopped and turned back, "Are you coming or not?" she asked. "Yep. Just coming." With that, I ran to her side and we started walking.

It's been hours since we have been walking. The mansion still seemed 50 miles away, but in fact, she told me that it was 5000 miles away.

It was just some sort of confusing trick so that people can't reach the mansion and pull that thought out of their head thinking it was just a mirage or some sort of trick.

But that's not going to stop me. I will reach the mansion, I don't care whether it's 50 miles or 5000.

I felt thirsty. I was going to ask her for water... Wait! How come it's been hours since, yet I don't know her name.

"Hey..." I start.

"Look, water.", she yelled cutting me off. I followed her gaze and found a bunch of trees forming a triangle.

There wasn't a single clue of water. Just trees. Even inside there were trees. It was obvious as we were walking through the woods. I don't know where she saw water.

"Well, where is water?" I asked, a little confused. "Are you questioning my skills?" she arched her eyebrow.

"Who will dare to do so? Even the person who has a death wish won't try doing that."

She started laughing. She laughed, for the first time. It was good to see her laugh.

"Follow me!" she commanded, in a sweet tone, a smile forming on her face. I followed her. She indicated me to enter the trees. She got hold of my hand and together we walked entered the triangle of trees.

She was right, there weren't trees there but a circular pond. The pond wasn't, like natural. Its edges were peculiar to me. It looked as if there was just a little water in there, but coming closer I noticed an endless supply of water.

"Told ya."

"How did you know?"

"Does it even matter? By the way, the name's Jade."

'Hi, Jade.'

'Hey, Alex.'

"I am thirsty."

'Me too.'

I drank the chill water of the pond and sprinkled some of the water on my face. I felt good. The corner of my eye caught Jade drinking the water.

I splashed some water in her direction. She was shocked.

After a second, she splashed a huge amount of water and drenched my shirt with water.

We thought of taking the divine pleasure.

'Water Fight!' we both said at the same time.
