The TreeHouse

Mercy was walking for a long time. It was around midnight when she realized it was late. She left the werewolf village when it was around sundown. "When did it get this dark", Mercy asked Mint. "It's been that way for a while, Mercy", Mint replied. They were still being followed by the werewolf from when they left the village a while ago. "Home's a little bit ahead", Mercy began, "We can rest there for a while". "I can't wait to see Marla", Mint exclaimed.

Mercy was able to see the orphanage in the horizon. As they grew closer it seemed grand. They actually grew a tree and made a house in it. It was probably that tree sapling Mercy gave Marla a year ago. The tree was huge. The leaves came in many shades of green. From light green to dark green. There were lit up lanterns here and there hanging from the tree house. Under it was the original building. The TreeHouse was just a two story building that resembled a school.

Mercy began to run as she grew closer and closer. When Mercy reached the door, she hesitated, but she still knocked. It took a couple minutes before they answered the door. "Who is it", a weak voice asked. "It's me the one and only wanted robber", Mercy replied. "Mercy?", the voice asked before happily yelling, "Mercy". "Yes, mama, it's me", Mercy told her. Without a word, Marla opened the door quickly. Before the both of them knew it, they were hugging. Mercy hugged the frail old woman carefully. "Marla, I'm here too", Mint exclaimed with excitement. Marla stroked Mint while holding him in her wrinkly hands.

"Come on in, Mercy", Marla insisted. They went to the living room where a couple children were playing. "Mercy's back", the both of them yelled. They both ran up to Mercy and hugged her tightly. These children were always up late. They were nocturnal after all. They were vampires who drank substitute blood or the blood of the animals they ate. "It's late at night so all the other children might be asleep. Oh yeah, we have a new child she's about two and half years younger than you. She joined about a month after you left. She hasn't been too social so if you could help her that would be splendid", Marla explained. "I'll help her out", Mercy assured her. "May we go rest. I had a hard time today", Mercy asked. Marla nodded and took her to an unoccupied room. "Thanks", Mercy sincerely said.

It wasn't a long rest that Mercy had. Every day there were always children running. The bottom floor always had the younger kids and the older ones lived on the second floor. Now that they have an actual tree house, the younger kids can have a room to themself if they wished. The older ones live in the tree house itself. Most young kids wanted to have a friend to share a room so there were extra rooms all the time. In the TreeHouse, you'd soon realize you should sleep early and wake up early. This is especially true if your sleeping with a friend.

Mercy went around greeting every child she could possibly find, or every child who could find Mercy. Mercy spent hours getting to hear all about the new things that happened. She toured around the tree house. It was like a dream. The inside was hollowed and well lit. There were paintings of the children and paintings made by the children. Some of the furniture was made of the wood that was taken out the tree. It improved so much. This was a fun experience for the children. Some got into gardening, some got into art, and others into building. This was all because of the tree Mercy gave them before she left.

It was a sight for sore eyes. The werewolf who followed Mercy was circling the perimeter admiring the place the entire time. He planned to attack, but saw all the children living there and decided not to. Mercy still knew he was around, but still didn't want to acknowledge him deeply until the time was right. Mint also knew of his existence, but didn't care. As long as he didn't bother Mercy, he didn't bother Mint. "When you get the chance, Mercy, talk to Kiara. Your the only one like her. She's and Eirr like you", Marla  said.

Ten minutes after Marla reminded Mercy to talk to Kiara, Mercy finally went. Her door had a piece of paper with the words, "Keep Out", painted in red. Mercy knocked calmly. "Is anyone in there? If so, may I come in", Mercy kindly asked. "Who is it". "It's me Mercy, one of the people who used to live here", Mercy replied. "C-come in!". When Mercy walked in, Kiara was staring out the window. "What do you want", Kiara rudely asked. "I came to talk with you. May I", Mercy replied. "You may". Mint had crawled out of Mercy's hat and ran up to Kiara. He probably wanted to be her friend. Kiara just stared at him as if she never saw a mouse before.

"So... erm... Kiara, was it? I know your an Eirr and that you've been secluding your self from everybody else. I want you to know you don't need to do that. I'm an Eirr like you. If you need help fitting in or making friends I can help", said Mercy. Kiara looked at her with her head tilted slightly to the left. She softly said, "You are... but... but where are you ears and tail?". Before Mercy showed Kiara her ears and tail, she first noticed Kiara's silver eyes. "Oh... I see", Kiara said as she examined Mercy's Eirr features.

They talked for hours on end until Mercy realized she had to go. "Look... Kiara. I can't stay any longer because the High Court might find out I was here. If it makes you feel better, you can call me sister. I have a brother who's just a friend I met here". Kiara looked at Mercy and said, "I'm glad to have a sister like you then". Before Mercy left, Kiara hugged her. Mercy didn't want to leave the orphanage, but the life she chose to live will effect them. Only four from the orphanage, not including Mercy, know about Mercy's life. Charles, Marla, Mint, and Kiara.
