Mercy chose a nice little room. It was small, but big enough for her to live in. It wasn't exactly a first choice, but then again, it was the best choice. She didn't want to get a house in Magic Hollow seeing as she is a wanted criminal. That would be a problem if the others found out. Especially if the lord, Daniel, found out. Who knows what he'll do. She is a stranger to him after all. "What should I do now. Any bad actions I do now will effect this place... that wouldn't be good... oh wait... Mint! Minttnim". Mint appeared besides Mercy and shook his head in a disappointed manner. Mercy ignored him and thought of what she should do to get money. She spent the last of it on her little maid.

     "Little maid... that's it!", Mercy yelled, "I could get a mini job at that café I saw earlier". Mint looked up at her with confusion. Mercy stared at the doll she had purchased earlier. "Hmm... but if I don't get accepted... what then", Mercy sadly asked herself. Mint continued to wonder what she was rambling on about. This job would be the first of its kind she would join. She has done thieving jobs for people who will pay a high price. Never has she worked at a café. It's not like she hasn't done something like this before. She was a huge help around the orphanage. She and Charles would always switch what they helped out with. One day she would help cook and the other she would help serve. Mercy sat on the floor of her new home and wondered about other possibilities for a job. Sadly, she couldn't think of any.

     Mercy waited a couple days so she could get use the town. Everyday she tried to meet at least one new person. Sometime she'd get in to a slight argument with Zane. The two got into constant fights. When Mercy got to know enough people from Magic Hollow, she decided to check out the café. The café went by Sweets and Treats. It was pink and magnificent. Roses, Lilacs, Violets, and many other flowers decorated the entrance. When Mercy entered she took a seat at a table that had pink roses decorating it. "Hello, would you like something", asked one of the employees. "I'd like a strawberry cake if there is any, please", said Mercy. The employee nodded and walked off. There was quite a wait, but Mercy found it worth it in the end.

     When Mercy finished her deliciously sweet strawberry cake, she approached the counter. "May I apply for a job here?", she asked softly. The woman at the counter nodded and called out, "Hera". A woman came out of the kitchen and said, "Yes?". Her hair was light purple and she had lovely purple eyes. She seemed to have been an Eirr. Her Eirr fur was that pretty gray. "This girl wants to work here", the employee so calmly, yet with an annoyed tone, said. The Eirr stared at Mercy, examining to see if she would look good in a maid's outfit. "Any experience baking?".

     "Hm? Oh, yes! I used to live in an orphanage and I would be the one who baked the cakes, cupcakes, and cookies", rambled Mercy. Hera nodded. "How many types of cakes do you bake and what do you specialize in?". Mercy started to count off with her fingers lifting one up every time she remembered a different one. "Nine... I specialize in berry cakes", replied Mercy. Hera nodded again. "Now what is your fashion sense? Do you like showy clothes... or not showy clothes", asked Hera. "Hm... I like clothes that are not showy. Um... if I were to wear dresses I'd prefer them semi-flat and I don't like them too long, but I don't like them short. I also like boots that almost reach my knees", explained Mercy. Hera nodded as she said, "Your hired! Come see me in two days to a week".

     Mercy left the café happily. She got hired into a job that seemed fun. Mercy likes to make stuff and baking meets the creative side of Mercy.

     "Congratulations! You were hired in to the place in which I hadn't known about", teased Mint. Mercy shook her head and said, "At least I got a job that can get us the money we need". "You know... you didn't pay". Mercy nodded her head to indicate she understood. They forgot about the cake she ordered so it benefited her in the end. Mercy made it home, but she encountered Zane. "Mutt", she scoffed. "Cat", scoffed Zane. Zane and Mercy glared at each other; Mint glared at Zane. Mercy let off small hisses and Zane let out loud growls. "Sorry to cut this short, pooch, but I got to go get some rest", hissed Mercy. Zane rolled his eyes and left her alone.

     Mercy waited three days to go back. She didn't want to seem desperate, but she didn't want to seem like she wasn't anxious. "Oh it's my new employee! Oh... I forgot to ask for your name. May I know it now", rambled Hera. "Mercy Beilfallen", answered Mercy. "Ok, Mercy, I made you your uniform". Hera picked up a dress and showed it to Mercy. It was much like how Mercy hoped it would be. She knew she would get a maid's outfit, but she didn't know exactly how it would look like. It was a somewhat long dress that was semi-flat. It was classic maid outfit style, but it was modified. It had long sleeves and matching boots. "Is this even going to fit me? If it does fit me I would like to know how you got the right size", Mercy said awed, but at the same time confused. "I can guess a person's size by looking at them! I'm not accurate, but I know the general area. I tend to make it slightly bigger than what I see just in case", Hera explained.

     Mercy took the clothes and went to a back room. She tried it and it was a perfect fit. She loved how it looked, but there was one problem with it. It didn't have a complementary hat. When Hera walked in, Mercy asked if she could where her witch hat as part of her uniform. Hera didn't have a problem with a personal touch so she let her. "Now... I need you to take an order, make what the costumer asked for, deliver it to them, have them pay, and rate your service". Mercy nodded and walked out. What came next was something Mercy didn't quite plan for. She had to serve Zane. The irony! Mercy didn't want to serve Zane, but she needs the money.

     Mercy walked up to Zane cautiously. Her ears and tail poked out indicating she was nervous. Her Eirr traits don't show often without command, but it will occur when she is in a place where it won't matter. "Well what do you know. The rambunctious brat for a cat works here", Zane remarked, "I have to admit, you don't look bad in a maid's outfit. If you lost your annoying ways, I might just hire you to serve me". Mercy rolled her eyes. "Would you like anything", she offered. "Yes. I'd like a chocolate cake with banana nut bread on the side", he so kindly answered. Mercy nodded and walked off to the kitchen. As Mercy is walking, Mint is letting out quiet laughter.

     Mercy walked in to the kitchen slowly. She had to analyze where the ingredients were. The flour was on the table, bakers chocolate was on a counter, and all the other supplies were scattered amidst an open cupboard. Mercy started off with the banana nut bread. She didn't find this hard, but she didn't make this often. While the bread started to bake, Mercy began making the cake. It wouldn't be so hard. This cake was very simple for Mercy. It took her a while for the bread and the cake to finish, but she managed. The café doesn't really have quick service, but it's food was worth it in the end. There was rarely any orders for drinks, but when there was it was mainly milk or water.

     Mercy finally finished baking and made it to Zane. Instead of making a comment first, he ate. He didn't expect much, but was awed at how good it was. "This is delicious", he commented. Mercy smiled. She was glad she can make him happy. It wasn't like they were enemies, but they weren't exactly friends. "That would cost...", Mercy began as she remembered how much it would cost, "Five gold coins". He paid her without hesitation and added a diamond tip. Tips went to the server, so that was one more diamond for Mercy. She didn't need to ask for a rating because she knew Hera was satisfied. Hera congratulated Mercy by saying, "Amazing! Next time tell me your part Eirr, though. I like to know when my employees are like me".

     It was a successful week for Mercy. She entered her first real job and completed it with magnificence.
