The Festival

It's been a week since Mercy was taken prisoner by the werewolf king and successfully escaped. She began to wonder if that's where the fun ends, but she usually dozes off and sleeps. "Mercy... wake up... I know it's sleepy season for you, but c'mon. Can't you at least try to stay awake?", Mint asked annoyed. Mercy shook her head, "Nope...". Mercy could only stay up if she needed to fulfill life necessities or if something interesting kept her up. This is normal for Mercy. Mercy likes to call it, "Sleep Has No Mercy". She made up the name with Charles when she was seven and it just stuck.

"Mercy! Come out here I have important news", someone screamed from outside of Mercy's room. Mercy tiredly got up and opened the door. Outside was Alicia. "What? Is it fun and interesting? If not, don't bother telling me... I won't be able to stay awake", Mercy said as politely as she can. "There's an annual festival coming up in J'Torno. Everyone is allowed. Except high threats", Alicia exclaimed. Mercy stared at Alicia for a moment before saying, "I can just change my appearance with no problems. If you want me to go, I'll go". Alicia hugged Mercy. She would have taken Zoe, but Zoe already left back home. Her mother needed her so she had to go early.

Alicia explained everything to Mercy. She told Mercy when it will be, why they have it every year, and how fun it is. When Alicia was finished, Mercy tried to go to sleep. Although, It was hard seeing as Alicia was loudly speaking to Zane. He decided to go when he realized Alicia wouldn't leave until he said yes. That kept Mercy up for the whole half hour she was there. "Will I get to go?", Mint asked curiously. He knew the answer, but trying is good. "You can't. Not yet at least. I have to go under disguise. It is a bit harder with my familiar around seeing as I've grown accustomed to being myself around you", Mercy explained coolly. After finishing, she slowly drifted off in to sleep. When she sleeps during this season of sleep, Mercy sleeps for about an hour then sleeps again around three to four hours later. It wasn't a unique thing for her, but it isn't an annual thing.

When Mercy woke up hours later, she began to wonder what her disguise would be. She'd have to make sure a few distinct features are changed a bit to make sure she isn't recognizable. She decided to change her hair to a light hair color and her eyes to a dark color. The first thing that popped into Mercy's mind was blonde hair and brown eyes. She'll leave her facial structure the way it is. The only thing left is what to wear and to let the others know how she'll look. Mercy had nothing to do so she decided to go outside and rest in a somewhat shady area. Being in her sleepy season kind of brings out sides of Mercy she wishes not to let out. She eventually realized a small red aura formed around her. It only meant one thing and that thing was something Mercy really hated. Just as fast as she went in was just as fast as she went out.

A few days passed before it was time to go to the festival. They had to leave a day before or else they wouldn't make it. When everyone was about to leave, Mercy turned into her new form. It was a bit harder seeing as she never saw anyone who looks like her, but with blonde hair and brown eyes. Luckily, she has seen blondes and brown-eyes. "If we haven't seen you changed forms, I'm pretty sure we wouldn't know it's you", Zane stated. "Can we just go already?", Kyle asked annoyed. Mercy, Alicia, and Jacob nodded as Zane gestured for them to walk. It took them over half the entire day to get there. The entire trip was just Mercy bothering Zane. "Shut up, Mercy please", asked Kyle. "In this form I'm not Mercy, I'm Paige now", retorted Mercy. "Paige? Was that the best name you could come up with?", remarked Zane. Mercy smacked him, "I liked that name for a while".

When they made it to J'Torno, Alicia led them to a house she owned. She said she owns the house, but she moved and just kept it as a memory of her childhood. "Nice place. It's roomy and humble", awed Mercy. Alicia showed the boys to the room they'll be staying in. Coincidentally, she had three younger brothers who shared a room. Alicia also has her older sisters room. Alicia decided to let Mercy sleep in that room since it only had a bed. Alicia's family moved out and she has no idea where they went. Mercy was still in her witch clothes so she decided to pick out the clothes she'd where for tomorrow. Mercy picked out some nice comfortable clothes. Her shirt was short-sleeved and baggy. She will wear pants that are nice looking and boots that match her shirt. She'll got rid of the hat overall. She has the ability to spawn in clothes and store away clothes whenever she wants which was good for her because she didn't have to constantly lose clothes.

The next day, the festival began. There were people crowding the streets and music filled the air. "Kyle! Jacob! Zane! Mer- Paige! Let's go!", Alicia yelled a bit impatiently. All four went down the stairs mumbling stuff. "Paige you look great!", Alicia exclaimed. "Hm? Oh thanks. At least I look like a totally different person. Just if you lose me, don't worry... 'kay?", Mercy said with a calm tone. "Before we go I want to know if I get to still call her kitten", Zane snickered. Mercy shook her head viciously implying she wouldn't want the nickname at the moment. Zane shrugged as Alicia laughed. "Let's go now", demanded Kyle. Without a word, the five left the house and ventured into the crowded streets. Mercy told herself she wouldn't go back, but she went back as a pet then back as a completely different person.

After some time, they split up. Kyle and Jacob never left Alicia's side. They were having fun around her, but didn't seem to want to leave her. Zane and Mercy went off as a pair. Kyle demanded Zane to stay with her because he didn't want Alicia worrying that they lost her. "So.. Paige what do you want to do first cause I don't really know what to do here", Zane asked. "Buy stuff and play a few of their games?", Mercy replied unsure. Zane was about to speak before Mercy ran off to one of the stands. They had small plushies that Mercy wanted. Only problem was the fact that she didn't bring any money. "You're saying you came to a festival where you might buy stuff, but didn't bring money?", Zane asked. Mercy nodded staring at the small cat plush before her. "I'll buy that thing if it's not as annoying as you are", he said as he was already paying for the toy. He didn't really want to waste his money on things that aren't food. "Thanks Zane", Mercy exclaimed. Growing up, she and the other kids never really got toys. They were lucky if they got a pet, but toys were too expensive for them and caused fights.

A couple hours later, the two groups met up. Mercy showed Alicia her new doll as if she were a child showing off her favorite item to a friend. Instead of splitting up again, they decided to have breakfast at one of the least crowded shops. They all got omelets and pork chops. "This place has good food", Mercy said with her mouthful. Alicia slightly giggled. Zane wanted to tease, but he held his words back. They spent a good half hour eating food at the restaurant. When they left, they walked around for some time because they were bored and were waiting for the attractions that occured more towards the night.

"Hey! Alicia, Jacob. Not going to say hi?", a voice called out. When they turned around, they were surprised to see Mark. "Uh.. Hi Mark?", Alicia greeted unsure of what to say. "Hey Mark... What do you want?", Jacob asked seeming a bit suspicious of Mark. "What? Can't be friendly in the one time of the year I enjoy the most. You know, besides my birthday", Mark said pretending to be hurt. Alicia, Jacob, and Kyle all glared at Mark. "Now are you going to introduce me to these two?", Mark asked. Alicia looked as if she were deciding if she should or should not, but Mercy answered for them. "I'm Paige", Mercy smiled. "I'm Zane", said Zane as if he could care less. "Paige is a nice name", Mark grinned. Zane began to growl quietly in a possessive way.

For some strange reason, Mark decided to tag along. Of course, the group eventually split because of this. The only change was the fact that Mark went with Mercy and Zane. They didn't spend a lot of time in separate groups. The sun was already setting so they reunited in order to see the festivities of the night together. It was odd how Mark joined. Maybe it was because of Mercy. Paige and Mercy were the exact same person except they looked different. Maybe Mark wants to know Mercy, or Paige, a bit more. Zane did his best to keep Mark away from Mercy, but wasn't successful. He doesn't know exactly why he became a bit protective for the moment. He was uncontrollably being Mercy's Mint of the day for a reason he doesn't know. Mercy really didn't understand the situation. She was a clueless child.

For a moment, the music stopped, then it began as a different song. Fun music that was loud, but not too loud. The parade was starting. Everyone gathered to the sides of the streets. They all watched as the performers danced their way across the streets of J'Torno. A few people with drums would hit the drums and play wonderful songs. Mercy was enjoying it and so was Alicia. Zane and Mark were quietly shoving each other for no reason as Jacob and Kyle were just watching the show. Kyle wasn't so amused by this stuff, but obviously did it for Alicia. When it was time to leave, Mark didn't seem too happy, but dealt with it. Mercy liked today. She didn't get lost, she got a new doll, and she had fun overall. "This was an awesome day. I hope I get to go to next years festival", Mercy said excitedly. Everyone else liked their day as well.
