The one window in (y/n)'s room shot rays of sun across her sleeping figure. She woke up and found that Gladion was no longer sleeping on her shoulder and his pokémon were all in there pokéballs and lying across (y/n)'s nightstand. Her pokémon were also in their pokéballs.
It must have been Gladion's doing. She was glad that he was feeling well enough to actually do something today. She got up and went to the bathroom to get ready for her possibly adventurous day.
When she finished, she went to look for Gladion, and that's when she realized that he wasn't there. He was nowhere in the apartment at all. As big as Lumiose City was, there was no way she'd be able to find him on her own, and, if it was as she feared, she needed to hurry up and find him.
She darted into her room, grabbed her pokemon, and got her hat and bag. She was seconds from opening the door to the apartment when it was suddenly opened on its own.
Gladion casually stood at the door with a shopping bad from an apparel store in one hand and the other hand was on the door handle. He stared blankly at (y/n) and wondered where she was going. She hugged him which made him flinch.
"I thought you were gone. I thought that Necrozma took you away from me," she whispered as she hugged him.
"I only went to the store to get some clothes. Apparently, everyone was so worried about my condition that they didn't think to send any of my things with me. Oh and (y/n), let me go," Gladion said. He was feeling more like himself now and didn't want any human contact at the moment.
"Sorry," (y/n) apologized as she let him go. He walked inside and turned to look back at (y/n) as if it was just a normal day.
"What's on today's agenda?" he said. He seemingly back to his old self which was much of a relief.
"Well, I was going to leave you here with Ryoko and head to the professor's lab to get more info on all of the possible places that can help you out. I didn't expect you to be gone when I woke up," (y/n) responded. Gladion frowned.
"I can take care of myself you know. I don't need your pokémon to look after me while your gone," he said.
"I am well aware of that but Ryoko is staying just in csse Necrozma tries anything while I'm gone. She will do whatever she can to stop you from doing anything too rash while under his control. I know you don't want me to do that but it's for your safety," (y/n) said.
Gladion's frown didn't leave his face as he turned away from her, but his voice sounded as comforting as a mother's.
"You shouldn't worry about me so much. It'll only cause you more stress. Go ahead and do what you need to, but I can handle myself like I said...just, just stay safe. Those people who were after you yesterday are still out there." This made (y/n) smile at him.
"Ok, but I'm still leaving Ryoko behind so I can give Moon some experience in pokémon battles. Ryoko already agreed to it anyway," she said to him. (Y/n) released Ryoko.
"(Y/n)!!!!" Ryoko growled. The pokémon's sudden outburst startled her.
"What?" (y/n) said to her pokémon wondering Why Ryoko had suddenly spoken.
"Why you no eat breakfast!?" Ryoko growled. (Y/n) almost laughed at her but refrained from doing so.
"Ryoko, you should work on your speech. It's slacking off again. I was going to get breakfast from a café by the way so stop worrying, " (y/n) said.
She noticed Gladion staring at her like she was crazy and said, " I can understand pokémon, remember?" Gladion still stared and said, "I don't think I will be getting used to that any time soon." (Y/n) laughed at him and headed out.
She stopped at the nearest café and went in to order some tea and coffee cakes. She sat at one of the empty tables outside so she could enjoy the view of the road that she was on. (Y/n) figured that she would be able to fit in as a Kalosian better if she were to observe those around her.
She was quietly drinking her tea since, in Alola, one did not sip tea. She watched as a little girl with blonde hair walked past her, stopped, and then turned around to stare at her. Her eyes had stars in them.
She walked closer to (y/n) and said, "Excuse me miss, but I couldn't help but notice your beauty. You also seem like a good pokémon trainer. Will you be my brother's..." but the little girl didn't get the chance to finish because a blonde headed boy who was older and looked like he could be her brother quickly put his hand over the girl's mouth and laughed nervously.
"Sorry about that. My sister seems to have gotten a little too curious. I hope she didn't disturb you," the boy said. His hand still covered his sister's mouth as she simply stood there looking between her brother and (y/n).
"Oh no, it's fine. She didn't bother me. In fact, she gave me a rather nice complement," (y/n) said to him.
"I'm Clemont by the way. This is my sister Bonnie," Clemont said finally releasing his sister who's eye gained stars once more after looking at (y/n).
"I'm (Y/n). Nice to meet you Clemont and Bonnie," she said to them. They seemed friendly.
"We'll be on our way now," Clemont said as he grabbed his sisters hand and pulled her along. Bonnie waved at (y/n) as they left, and (y/n) waved back.
A couple of minutes afterward, (y/n) left a tip for the waitress and went on her way. She was just about to turn into the miniature yard of the pokémon research lab when she heard someone from behind her call her name.
"(Y/n)! I think that's what the blonde boy called you...Come with me or the girl gets hurt!" (Y/n) turned around to see the same two lunatics dressed in red from just the other day. The man was holding a pokéball and the woman was restraining Bonnie.
"Let her go!" (y/n) and Clemont said at the same time. (Y/n) hadn't even seen him from where he stood at the left edge of the pokémon lab's gate.
"Another blonde brat to ruin our plans?! I don't think so!" the woman in red said. "You handle the boy, I'll get the girl. She won't be getting away this time!"
(Y/n) didn't even reach for her pokémon this time. Instead, she ran at the woman with the intent of harming her. The woman must have noticed this because she yelped, let go of Bonnie, and took off. The man in red, who was about to battle Clemont, ran too once he realized that he was alone.
"Cowards!" Bonnie yelled after them. Then she turned around and hugged (y/n).
"They're all bark and no bite. It's sad, really," (y/n) said. Her mind wondered off to Gladion. Was he really going to be okay by himself?
"Umm...hello?" she heard Clemont say. He was now standing in front of her with confusion written all over his face.
"Oh, sorry! I zoned out for a minute there. What were you saying?" (y/n) said. She hadn't meant to zone out like that.
"I wanted to thank you for saving my sister. That was very nice of you," Clemont said. He sounded as if he was a little surprised.
"Why wouldn't I save saved your sister? It was the right thing to do. Those red suit loving kidnappers should be stopped anyway," (y/n) told him.
"Haven't you heard about Team Flare. They've stolen the power from half of the city and rumors say that they're going to used the power of a legendary pokémon to carry out some sort of terrible plan!" Bonnie said to (y/n). Legendary pokémon? That's just what (y/n) needed to help save Gladion!
"Where can I find this Team Flare?" (y/n) asked quite seriously. She didn't care if they were looking for her. If it meant saving Gladion, then she'd go right to them.
"Wait! You can't be thinking of going there on your own to fight all of them. Even though more than half of their organization's intelligence is lacking, it's still dangerous," Clemont warned.
"I don't care. I have something that I need to do to save someone that I care about, and going there has something to do with that," (y/n) said. Clemont nodded.
"Okay, I'll tell you where you can find them, but I am going with you. You seem like a strong pokémon trainer, but everyone could use a little help. What do you say?" Clemont said holding out his hand for her to shake.
"Alright, you can come along," (y/n) agreed, shaking Clemont's hand.
"Yay! Another adventure!" Bonnie said jumping up and down. Clemont immediately turned to her in surprise.
"Wait a second, Bonnie you can't go!" Clemont said. He was completely serious although it didn't seem so.
"If we leave her behind, she could get kidnapped again," (y/n) reasoned more for Bonnie's sake. She thought the little girl was to adorable to leave behind. Bonnie looked up at her brother with will power and determination.
"Just this once. Come on let's go," Clemont announced. He pushed his glasses back up since they'd fallen down a little and started to lead the way to Team Flare. The place that held more answers than the pokémon research lab had to offer.
"I'll save you, Gladion. Don't you worry," (y/n) whispered to herself as she followed Clemont and Bonnie.
