THIS GIRL NEEDA LISTEN TO HER DAD 💀
This chap is a little wild, I also didn't know what to title this
ELLIE BARNES stood at her locket in the bustling high school hallway, scribbling notes for her next class. She was deep in thought when she heard footsteps approaching. Looking up, she saw Bruno Carrelli, standing there with a sheepish smile. Her heart skipped a beat.
"Hey, El," Bruno said, leaning against the desk. "Got a minute?"
Ellie tried to play it cool, though her cheeks flushed slightly. "Sure, what's up?"
"There's this party this weekend. It's at Jessie's place. Everyone's going, and I was wondering if you'd like to come with me?" Bruno asked, his eyes hopeful.
Ellie bit her lip, glancing down at her notebook. She wanted to go, especially since Bruno was asking, but there was a big problem.
She was grounded.
"I'd love to, but I'm grounded," she admitted, her voice tinged with regret. "I got into some trouble last weekend, and my dad would never let me go to party."
Bruno's face fell, but he quickly masked his disappointment. "That sucks. Kamala can't go either, so it's going to be just me. I was really looking forward to having you both there. It would've been our first high school party ever."
Ellie felt a pang of guilt. She didn't want to let Bruno down, especially when he seemed so excited. Maybe, just maybe, she could ask her dad for an exception. It was a long shot, but it was worth a try.
"I'll ask him," Ellie said, mustering up some confidence. "I can't promise anything, but I'll try to get him to let me go."
Bruno's face lit up. "Really? That'd be awesome, Ellie. Thanks for trying."
"Yeah, no problem," Ellie replied, trying to sound more confident than she felt. "I'll let you know what he says."
"Cool," Bruno said with a smile. "I'll keep my fingers crossed. See you around, Ellie."
ELLIE PACED BACK AND FORTH in her room, anxiety twisting her stomach into knots. She knew she had to try harder. Bruno's hopeful face kept flashing in her mind, and she couldn't bear the thought of disappointing him. Determined, she took a deep breath and marched downstairs, finding her dad in the kitchen making dinner.
"Hey, Dad, can we talk?" Ellie asked, trying to sound as calm and reasonable as possible.
Bucky glanced up from chopping vegetables, his expression guarded. "Sure, Ellie. What's on your mind?"
She took another deep breath, steadying herself. "I really want to go to this party this weekend. It's not just any party, it's the first high school party for Bruno and Kamala. Kamala can't go, and Bruno asked me specifically. It would mean a lot to me if I could go."
Bucky sighed, setting the knife down and turning to face her fully. "Ellie, we've been over this. You're grounded because you came home drunk last week."
"I know, Dad, and I'm really sorry about what happened," Ellie pleaded. "I learned my lesson. I won't drink or do anything stupid, I promise. Can't you just make an exception this one time?"
Bucky's expression hardened slightly. "Ellie, I appreciate that you're sorry, but actions have consequences. If I let you go now, what kind of message does that send? That you can break the rules and get away with it?"
"It's not like that, Dad," Ellie insisted, her voice growing more desperate. "This is really important to me. I'll be extra careful, I swear."
"Ellie," Bucky said, his tone firm, "I'm saying no. You're grounded, and that's final."
"But, Dad, please!" Ellie begged, her eyes starting to fill with frustrated tears. "You don't understand how much this means to me. Bruno—"
"Ellie," Bucky interrupted, his patience wearing thin, "I said no. You're not going to the party, and that's the end of it."
Ellie's frustration boiled over. "You're being so unfair! I've done everything you've asked since last week. I'm trying to make up for my mistake, but you're not even giving me a chance!"
Bucky's jaw tightened. "Ellie, I know you're upset, but I can't just give in because you're begging. This is about teaching you responsibility and consequences."
"I get that, Dad, but it's just one party," Ellie argued. "Why can't you trust me?"
"It's not about trust, Ellie," Bucky replied, his voice growing stern. "It's about you understanding that your actions have consequences. This is one of those consequences."
Ellie's shoulders slumped. "Please, Dad. I'll do anything. Just let me go to this party."
Bucky took a deep breath, feeling a pang of guilt at seeing his daughter so distressed. But he knew he had to stay firm. "I'm sorry, Ellie, but my answer is still no. You're not going."
Ellie let out a frustrated sigh, wiping her eyes angrily. "Fine. Whatever."
ELLIE SAT ON HER BED, staring at her phone. Her dad had said no, but she couldn't just leave Bruno hanging. She took a deep breath and went downstairs, finding Bucky sitting on the couch, flipping through channels on the TV.
"Dad, can I at least use my phone to tell Bruno I can't go?" she asked, trying to keep her voice calm.
Bucky looked up at her, his expression softening. "Alright, Ellie. But just to tell him you can't go. No long conversations."
Ellie nodded, taking her phone and heading back to her room. She quickly dialed Bruno's number, pacing nervously as it rang.
"Hey, Ellie," Bruno answered, his voice hopeful.
"Hey, Bruno," Ellie sighed. "I talked to my dad, and he still won't let me go to the party."
Bruno sighed on the other end. "That sucks, Ellie. But maybe it's for the best. You don't want to get in more trouble."
Ellie bit her lip, glancing at her closed door. "I know, but I really want to go. I was thinking... maybe I could sneak out?"
"Ellie, that's not a good idea," Bruno said, his voice filled with concern. "You'll get caught, and your dad will be even more upset."
"It'll be fine, Bruno," Ellie insisted, her voice firm. "I'll be careful. I just don't want to miss out on this. It's our first high school party."
Bruno sighed again. "Ellie, I don't want you to get in more trouble because of me. Maybe we should just wait until the next party."
"No, Bruno. I'm going to do it," Ellie said, determination in her voice. "I'll see you there."
Before Bruno could protest further, Ellie hung up and took a deep breath. She walked back downstairs, phone in hand, and approached her dad.
"Here's my phone back," she said, handing it to him.
Bucky looked at her, concern in his eyes. "Ellie, I'm sorry you're upset. I really am. I just want to keep you safe."
Ellie didn't respond. She turned and walked back to her room, closing the door behind her. Bucky sat on the couch, feeling a pang of guilt. He knew he had to stay firm, but seeing Ellie so hurt was tearing him apart.
AFTER DINNER, she pretended to go to bed early. She listened to the sounds of the house, waiting for the moment when she was sure her dad had gone to his room. Once she heard Bucky's footsteps fade down the hallway, she waited a few more minutes to be sure before quietly slipping out of bed. She dressed quickly, pulled on her shoes, and opened her window.
Ellie glanced back at her room one last time, a pang of guilt hitting her as she thought about her dad's worried face if he found out. She pushed the thought aside and climbed out the window, carefully lowering herself to the ground. She took off running, her heart pounding with excitement and fear.
The party was in full swing when she arrived. Music blared from inside the house, and laughter and chatter filled the air. Ellie spotted Bruno and Kamala almost immediately. They waved her over, their faces lighting up when they saw her.
"Ellie! You made it!" Kamala exclaimed, giving her a hug.
"Hey! You also made it!" Ellie replied, smiling. "Bruno said you couldn't."
"Yeah, well, the art of sneaking out I suppose." Kamala said.
But even as she tried to enjoy herself, a nagging worry stayed in the back of her mind. She knew she was risking a lot by being here, but she tried to push the thoughts aside. She danced, talked with friends, and tried to have a good time, but she couldn't fully relax.
Meanwhile, back at home, Bucky sat in his room, unable to shake the feeling that something was off. He trusted Ellie, but the conversation they had earlier still weighed on his mind.
He decided to check on her, just to be sure everything was alright. As he walked down the hall and opened her bedroom door, his heart stopped. Her bed was empty, the covers neatly pushed aside.
"Ellie?" he called out, his voice trembling slightly. He checked the bathroom and other rooms in the house, but there was no sign of her. Panic started to set in as he raced back to her room, searching for any clue as to where she might have gone.
"Ellie!" he shouted, louder this time, hoping she might hear him and come back. But the house remained eerily silent.
Bucky's mind raced with terrible possibilities. He knew Hydra was still out there, always a lurking threat. The thought that they might have taken her made his blood run cold. He couldn't bear the idea of losing her, especially to them.
He began pacing around the house, his thoughts spiraling out of control. He checked her phone, looking for any messages or calls that might give him a clue. Nothing seemed out of the ordinary, but his anxiety only grew stronger. He clutched his head, trying to think of where she could be.
Then, it hit him. The party. Ellie had mentioned it earlier, and she had seemed so desperate to go.
"Ellie fucking Barnes."
THE PARTY WAS IN FULL SWING, with music blasting and laughter filling the air. Ellie and Bruno had drifted away from the main crowd, finding a quiet spot outside under the stars. They sat on a bench, the soft glow of string lights casting a warm light over them.
"So," Bruno said, leaning back and smiling at her, "I can't believe you actually snuck out to come here. That's pretty freaking crazy, Ellie. Your dad is terrifying."
Ellie blushed, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear. "Yeah, well, I didn't want to miss this. And besides, I didn't want you and Kamala to go to your first high school party without me."
Bruno chuckled, his eyes twinkling. "I'm glad you're here. It wouldn't have been the same without you."
They lapsed into a comfortable silence, the sounds of the party a distant hum. Bruno looked at her, his gaze softening. "You know, Ellie, you're really something special."
Her heart skipped a beat, and she looked down, trying to hide her smile. "You're just saying that."
"No, I mean it," Bruno insisted, his voice sincere. He reached out and gently took her hand, sending a jolt of electricity through her. "I've liked you for a long time, you know."
Ellie's breath caught in her throat. She looked up at him, their eyes locking. The world seemed to fade away, leaving just the two of them. Bruno leaned in slowly, giving her plenty of time to pull away if she wanted to. But she didn't. She closed the distance, her lips meeting his in a soft, tentative kiss.
The kiss was everything Ellie had imagined and more. It was sweet and gentle, sending warmth spreading through her entire body. She felt like she was floating, her heart pounding in her chest.
But before they could say anything else, a voice cut through the night, sharp and furious. "Elenore Rebecca Barnes!"
She froze, her blood turning to ice. She turned slowly to see her dad standing a few feet away, his face a mask of seething anger. She had never seen him so furious. Bucky's eyes were blazing, his jaw clenched so tightly it looked like it might shatter.
"Dad," she whispered, her voice trembling.
Bucky marched over, grabbing her arm with a firm grip. "We're leaving. Now."
Ellie's heart sank. She could see the hurt and disappointment in her father's eyes, and it made her feel like she had been punched in the gut. She glanced back at Bruno, who looked just as shocked and worried as she felt.
"Come on," Bucky said, his voice low and dangerous. He practically dragged her towards the car, his anger radiating off him in waves.
"Dad, please," Ellie tried to explain, but he cut her off.
"Not a word," he snapped. "You're in enough trouble as it is."
When they reached the car, Bucky yanked the door open and pointed inside. "Get in."
The ride home was tense and silent, the atmosphere inside the car thick with unspoken words and Bucky's barely-contained fury. Ellie's heart pounded in her chest, a mixture of guilt and dread gnawing at her insides. She stole glances at her dad, his knuckles white from gripping the steering wheel so tightly, his jaw set in a rigid line.
When they finally pulled into the driveway, Ellie's stomach churned. She knew what was coming, and it wasn't going to be pleasant. As soon as they were inside the house, Bucky spun around to face her, his eyes blazing with anger.
"What were you thinking?" he shouted, his voice echoing through the living room. "Sneaking out like that? Do you have any idea how worried I was?"
Ellie flinched. "Dad, I—"
"No, you don't get to talk right now!" Bucky cut her off, his voice trembling with rage. "I was scared out of my mind when I couldn't find you. I thought something terrible had happened. Do you even realize the kind of danger you put yourself in?"
Ellie's lower lip quivered as she tried to explain, but Bucky was on a roll, his anger fueled by the fear he had experienced earlier. "And to top it all off, I find you kissing some boy at a party you weren't even supposed to be at! Do you have any idea how irresponsible that is?"
"I'm sorry," Ellie whispered, her voice barely audible.
"Sorry doesn't cut it, Ellie!" Bucky shouted, his voice breaking. "You're grounded for another month. No phone, no friends, nothing. And you're lucky I'm not calling Bruno's parents right now."
Ellie's eyes widened with shock. "Another month? Dad, please—"
"I said no talking!" Bucky seethed. He ran a hand through his hair, trying to calm himself down, but the panic and anger were overwhelming. His breathing became erratic, and he could feel the familiar sensation of a panic attack creeping in. He stumbled to the couch, clutching his chest.
Ellie's eyes widened with fear as she saw her dad struggling to breathe. "Dad, are you okay?" she asked, her voice trembling.
"Go... to your room," Bucky managed to choke out between ragged breaths. "Now."
Ellie hesitated, but the look in her father's eyes told her she needed to listen. She turned and slowly made her way up the stairs, her heart heavy with guilt and worry. She paused at the top, glancing back to see her dad hunched over on the couch, his face buried in his hands. The sight made her heart ache, but she knew there was nothing she could do to fix it right now.
