"I miss you so much"

A rough voice dragged Taehyung's drowsy consciousness awake, making his eyes flutter open and slowly focus on the ablaze phone screen right in front of his face.

Taehyung's lips curled into a small smile as he watched the smiling face on his phone screen. "I miss you too, Ggukkie"

Jeongguk smiled. He was lying on his bed, Taehyung could see through the phone screen. Just like Taehyung. The only difference was that Jeongguk was staying at his own house with all the freedom he could have while Taehyung was stuck at his own house for ten whole days. He wasn't supposed to step out of his house at all costs.

"The quarantine is going to be over tomorrow" Taehyung muttered, watching the way Jeongguk's starry eyes lit up upon hearing that sentence. "We're meeting tomorrow"

"I know but it feels like so long, Tae" Jeongguk muttered. "I feel like I've never been away from you for this long"

"I'm sure you have"

"No that's not true. It was back in 2019 that we took a break and you and I met back then like every few days. We were only apart for a week because of Chuseok. But you've been in Hawaii for like a week and then again, more than a week in quarantine..." Jeongguk babbled, his voice fading into inaudible murmurs until he was lost in thought.

Taehyung couldn't help but coo at his boyfriend's cute mannerisms. "I know, Ggukkie. I'm sorry"

Jeongguk shook his head. "No, that's okay. You were with your mom and dad. I wish I came with you too, though"

"We could've had so much fun in Hawaii," Taehyung said. It was his chance to pout now, remembering all the things he did and all the places he went to in his time in Hawaii. The times he wished Jeongguk was there with him to share the happiness had been countless.

After they finished their concert in LA, the seven friends had parted ways. Taehyung and Hoseok had stayed behind to go to Hawaii with their families, Namjoon was touring around America and so was Yoongi. Jeongguk, Jin, and Jimin had gone straight back to Korea. Jin and Jimin had people to visit, and so did Jeongguk. But Jeongguk's lover was still in America. However, he didn't have much of a choice since he had had many plans with his family as well as friends.

The other five friends were quite worried about Taehyung and Jeongguk's separation. They had been dating for the last six years. They were inseparable whenever they were together, regardless of whether they were in front of or behind the camera. They always tried to control themselves and tried not to slip up. But there were times when the staff had to interfere to remind them that they were indeed on-air or is in front of a huge live audience.

They weren't too obvious, Taehyung believed. Most of the time, he only stared at Jeongguk for a few long minutes when he was talking. Or he couldn't help but caress Jeongguk's thigh or his ass on rare occasions because why not? (He just couldn't help himself. He hardly had any self-control when it came to Jeongguk) But he was sure every other member did the same! Right? Right.

"Besides your birthday is in three days" Jeongguk said, making Taehyung snap out of his thoughts. He had spaced out while staring at Jeongguk's beautiful face.

"Oh yeah. I'm going to meet my parents on my birthday"

"You were spending time with them until like the week before the last!"

Taehyung grinned. "I know. But I invited them over for my birthday too. I hardly ever spend my birthdays with my parents. I bought some alcohol from Hawaii and we can drink it on my birthday!" Taehyung said excitedly.

Jeongguk smiled at him gently. "Did you have a lot of fun in Hawaii, baby?"

"Yeah" Taehyung whispered. They had face-timed at least once a day when Taehyung was in quarantine and they had also face-timed when he was in Hawaii, at least every two days. When in quarantine, they face-time before they both went to sleep. It would've been difficult for them both if they didn't do so.

Therefore, every day they saw each other through the phone in the last six days of quarantine, Jeongguk had asked him the same question: 'Did you have a lot of fun, baby?'. However, Taehyung's answer hadn't been the same. He described it in many different ways each day.

They had been together for six years, it didn't take Taehyung long to realize the reason why Jeongguk did so. It was just that Taehyung loved describing to Jeongguk the things he had done with his parents and friends. He always loved talking about his family. He had experienced so many new things and he had so many stories to tell Jeongguk. Every time he spoke of an exciting incident he had come across, his eyes lit up with so much excitement and he would add a new detail or two every time he retold the story. Taehyung knew that Jeongguk loved that about him.

So this time as well, he told Jeongguk about what he did in Hawaii with a wide smile stretching his lips into a rectangular shape and his eyes twinkling with so much passion.

"That's amazing, baby" Jeongguk whispered as Taehyung finished.

Taehyung grinned at him. "I know, right?!"

"I wish I was there with you"

"Same" Taehyung pouted. "You and I should definitely visit someday"

"Of course, we will"

"You know the hotel we stayed at had a Jacuzzi in every room," Taehyung said with a smirk.

"Yeah?" Jeongguk's smile curled into a lopsided smirk making Taehyung's heart take a leap.

"Hmm" Taehyung hummed as he let out a sigh and adjusted himself under the covers of his bed. "Every time I took a bath, I wished you were there with me"

"In the Jacuzzi?"

"Yeah" Taehyung whispered.

"Did you miss me that much?"

"Missed all of you" Taehyung giggled.

"Just wait till we meet tomorrow. Can't wait to remind you what you missed"

"I'm excited!" Taehyung said with a bright smile.

"I know. So am I"

"I'm so glad I'm meeting you tomorrow. I missed you too much, Ggukkie"

"How much did you miss me?"

"Quarantine was the worst, Ggukkie" Taehyung pouted. "I wanted you close to me so badly. And when I was in quarantine you were hanging out with your friends while I was rotting here alone" Taehyung whined, earning a chuckle from Jeongguk.

"I'm sorry, baby. But my friends wanted to go to Itaewon that weekend and I haven't gone out with them in so long. I couldn't say no"

Taehyung pouted again. "I called you five times that night and you didn't answer even once. You were ignoring me!"

"Is that why you posted a thirst trap on your Instagram?"

Taehyung's eyes widened and he found himself speechless.

"For twenty-five million people to see?"

Taehyung gulped. "You weren't paying attention to me that night," He said with a pout.

Jeongguk sighed. "I'm the only one who's allowed to see you like that"

Taehyung smirked to himself. At least his tactic had worked. Jeongguk called him that night ten times and Taehyung had picked up on the eleventh ring, and they face-time for a couple of hours...but they did a little more than just talking.

"You're going to have to pay for that when we meet tomorrow"

Taehyung rolled his eyes. "We'll see about that"

Jeongguk cracked a smile. They stared at each other for a few long minutes, smiling and giggling from time to time but not speaking a single word. They didn't have to. Communication between them didn't always need words.

The person who broke the comfortable silence between them was Jeongguk when Taehyung let out a small yawn. "You should go to sleep, baby"

"Hmm" Taehyung hummed and took a deep sigh.

"We'll be meeting tomorrow" Jeongguk whispered. "Sleep now. I'll cut the call when you fall asleep"

Taehyung smiled at that. "Don't leave me"

"I won't"

Taehyung stared at Jeongguk on his phone screen for a few more minutes until he felt his eyelids become heavier. They slowly fluttered close and Jeongguk's beautiful face became a blur and then total darkness as Taehyung drifted into his land of dreams. That night, he dreamt of Jeongguk sleeping next to him, cuddled to his side.

"I can't wait to go on a date with you tomorrow"
