Family Reunion
"Dean," Piper hissed," What are you doing!" Dean paused in his efforts to sneak into his brother's home to smirked at his sister "What does it look like? I'm breaking into Sam's house." She sighed and decided that there was no way she could ever talk the ever so stubborn Dean Winchester out of this. As soon as they were in, Dean headed for the living room, not even bothering to try and be quiet. Piper, on the other hand, opted to hide in the shadows in the hall, but she made sure her brother never left her sight. Judging from the amount of noise Dean was making, she was betting that Sam would go straight for him and their was no way she was going to miss the fight that was bound to happen.
And she wasn't disappointed, a few seconds later Sam crept into the room, and lunged at Dean, but Dean was ready for him, they took turns dodging and punching and kicking, until, finally Dean had him pinned to the floor. "Easy tiger," says Dean, "just looking for a beer." Sam is shocked, he hadn't seen or spoke to Dean in years and all of the sudden he's in the same room as him. "Dean...Where's Piper? Is she here? How-". His next question was cut off when Piper entered the room, a small smile on her face. Dean got off of Sam so he could greet his sister. "Hey Sammy-" She didn't get to finish her sentence due to Sam attacking her with a giant bear hug and spinning her around. She pulled away from the hug to give him a once over looking for any changes that may have occurred over the last couple years. "You've grown so much! Look at you! You're a giant!" Sam chuckled, happy to be able to finally see his sister.
Eventually, both siblings realized that Dean was still standing there, watching their little reunion with a small smile on his face and suddenly, Sam turned back to Dean, still out of breathe from the fight they had not two minutes ago. "You scared the crap out of me!" Sam says. "That's because you're out of practice." Dean smirked and Sam glared. Piper groaned from behind Sam. "Don't you two start fighting just yet, we just got here and I'm not in the mood to play peacemaker." The brothers nodded and look down, slightly ashamed.
Sam and Dean's fighting was nothing new to her, after all she was always the one to break up the fights before they got too bad. Their personalities and preferences were completely different from each others, so they had a lot to fight about. They even fought over her. Each brother wanted be the one to receive her affection and give their protection. They each wanted to be the one to hold her when she cried. They thought she oblivious to these battles, mostly because they usually happened behind her back. But, she wasn't stupid, she could tell. She loved both of her brothers so she would always try to be as neutral as possible, but after Sammy left, she grew closer to Dean. It wasn't that she resented Sam for leaving, in fact she encouraged it, it was just spending all those years with just her and Dean that made them almost inseparable. That was probably going to create some problems if they team up with Sammy again.
"So Sammy, when can I meet this girlfriend I've been hearing so much about?" As if on cue, a pajama clad Jessica walked in the room, probably wondering what was going on down here. "Sam?" She asked. " Jess, this is Dean and Piper. Dean, Piper, this is Jessica." It suddenly clicked in Jessica's head who the strangers were. " Your brother and sister?" Sam nodded and Jessica smiles. Piper hugs Jessica. " It's about time I get to meet the famous Jessica. Sam wasn't lying you are beautiful and I bet you're smart too. I definitely approve. Don't loose her, Sam. I have good instincts and this one's a keeper." Both Sam and Jessica smiled, happy to get her approval. Dean opened his mouth to make a flirty comment, but decided against it when he saw his sister glare out of the corner of his eye. Instead, he reaches out to shake Jessica's hand with a warm smile. "Nice to meet you. Look, we need to talk to your boyfriend here about some family business." Sam refused to let her leave saying that he didn't want to hide anything. But after Piper and Dean dropped a few hints to what was REALLY going on, he reluctantly told her to leave.
"Why don't I make some breakfast and Jessica can help?" Asked Piper. Dean seemed to like that idea. "Hell yeah. Sam our sister is a wiz in the kitchen. You have to try her food, it's heaven." Sam was both curious and pleased at this. Curious, because Piper had never shown any interest in cooking before he left and pleased because she was becoming interested in something normal. He nodded "Sounds like a plan." Dean waited 'til he was sure the girls were in the kitchen before turning back to Sam. Sam sighed, " Dean, you can't just break in my house in the middle of the night and expect me to go on the road with you!" " You're not hearing me Sammy! Dad's missing and we need you to help us find him." "He's been missing before, Dean." " Not for this long and Piper's scared and she needs you. Are you coming or not?" Sam hesitated.
He wanted to be there for his sister, but he didn't want to leave this life behind, especially not for his father. His dad hadn't even hesitated on telling little Piper the truth about what was out there. He had wanted her to be ready, but it took a lot of her childhood innocence away which he and Dean worked very hard to bring back to her by playing games and telling her stories and taking her out to fun places. They kept trying to make good memories for her.
Finally, he answered "I'm not." Dean glared; in his mind, Sam had abandoned him and his sweet, yet badass little sister. "Why not?" He demanded. "I swore I was done hunting, for good." "Come on it wasn't that bad. Certainly not bad enough to leave poor Piper." Sam glared. "I didn't want to leave her Dean! I wanted to take her with me! But she said no. I've even thought about kidnapping her, but I knew you and dad would freak out and think it was a monster. Can't you see how much better she'd be without-" "Her family?", finished Dean. "The hunting life. Not that dad treated her all that well."
Dean's glare hardened. "Dad loves her!" Sam scoffed and shook his head, "He pushed her too hard, Dean! He trained her until she literally couldn't walk! Don't you remember the times you had to hold her while she cried about how much her feet hurt?" Dean bowed his head and said in low voice, " That was when she was younger, it's better now! He's eased up on her a lot. Besides that he was pretty great father to her." " When she was eight, she told him she was afraid of the monster under her bed and he gave her a .45!" Said Sam harshly.
"What was he supposed to do Sammy?" "He was supposed to tell her that there was nothing to be afraid of, that we would protect her. Come on Dean we were more like fathers to her than him! He was never home and he almost always came back drunk! He even hit her once!" Dean growled at the memory. Sam had a point there. He was more like a father to her than John will ever be and no one laid a hand on her and got away with it, not even his own father. "Don't remind me." He said, before bringing up the hunt again.
Meanwhile, Jess and Piper were in the kitchen, cooking up enough delicious food to feed an entire army... or three Winchesters and one college girl. They talked about everything: childhoods, boys, school, favorite foods, you name it. They definitely didn't skip out on Sam stories either. They had just finished making the food had and had already set the table. So Jess decided to tell Piper the story of how she and Sam had first met.
Piper was laughing, "There is no way that actually happened, that sort of thing only happens in the movies!" Jess snorted " I know right? But I'm not joking. We literally bumped into each other, I dropped my books and as he was helping me pick them up, we looked into each others eyes and it was love at first sight." Piper shook her head, a grin still on her face,"Wow." Jessica shrugged, "I know cliché, but true. "
That's when the boys walked in, both looking slightly surprised at how well the two girls got along. Dean nodded at Piper, telling her that he had convinced Sam to come, after that both of the boys' looked toward the food and Sam's jaw dropped, causing Dean to smirk as if to say 'I told you so.' " Wow! You guys really went all out." Piper smirked " We both know how much a Winchester man can eat." As they ate Sam explained as much as he could to Jess about what was going on with his dad, after that Piper and Jess were the only ones to make any conversation while the men devoured their food, only stopping to compliment the women on their cooking. Soon after, Sam got dressed and Sam and Piper were hugging (and in Sam's case, kissing) Jessica goodbye. And as the trio got in the car, they all couldn't help but think how nice it was to finally be together again.
