"Well, today's just going to be another back-and-forth as usual." Maruki said as you are seen sitting in his office with him. "Or will it?! Today's your lucky day! Please take a look at what's on this table!"

"?" You looked at the table to see all types  of cookies in a basket.

"I've been making you listen to all this tough stuff about traumas, pain, and grief lately, so...  I found these cookies in an underground mall! Now we can have a little break! They're kind of fancy cookies, too..." He surprised you with a smile. "It thought I'd get a surprise for you, since you've been kind enough to indulge me all this time. Go ahead, enjoy!"

"This all looks great, are you sure I can have some?" You asked him as he nodded.

"Go on, don't be shy! I've got enough for seconds, too! Oh, that reminded me about this psychological experiment. The scientist prepared two containers, and put the same kind of cookies in both of them." Maruki explained. "In one container, they put only one cookie, but the other? Filled with ten of them. So then they had their subjects try cookies from each container and asked how their taste compared. Which container's cookies were marked as tasting better? Any guesses?"

"The one cookie, right?" You said as Maruki smiled.

"Correct. Easy to guess, huh? There's actually something called the 'Law of Scarcity.' It's about what you'd imagine from the name: people are drawn to thing that are more scarce. You can see this law in action just by observing how excited people get over limited-edition merchandise."

"Oh yeah, that means Deku's been doing it forever." You said as Maruki started chuckling.

"That really is a good example. Strange but also intriguing. In becoming aware of scarcity, we trigger our own desires, and cause a change in our own cognition... Not only that, the effect spreads to our senses, and creates a subjective, observable difference in our reality. Basically, your perception can be changed by your cognition or preconceptions. It's all below the conscious level, but it's really incredible! Now that you've heard about that, how do you feel? That your unconscious desires may have changed your taste of the cookie?" Maruki asked you picked up a cookie and ate it.

"It still taste pretty good to me, think that all that matters." You said as he shook his head in shock.

"That's definitely not the usual response, but it's one I can understand." Maruki said. "It probably sounds like an exaggeration, but something about that seems beautiful to me. Maybe the human heart can falter, or be unreliable sometimes... but if this experiment proved anything, it's that even a simple preconception can be enough to bring someone more joy. For example, take that story I just told you. What's if you'd eaten that one cookie, and it had been the best cookie of your life. Say I never revealed the trick. That cookie would have remained more delicious than usual. It would have been a subjective truth of your reality."

"Well... not 'truth' exactly."

"Well, point taken. I can see why you'd say that. Basically, what I wanted to say was if this idea of preconception could be studied further, and actually applied to treating people... I feel like it could help a lot of people. Maybe even more than I could help through counseling. Then again, it relies so heavily on perspective. Some people might call it a lie,
It see it as running from problems... Still, even if that's true...I still believe that method could save a lot of people." Maruki then stood up and held his head. "I'm so sorry! We wound up getting into an academic conversation after all... I really need to watch myself. Whenever I'm talking to you, somehow I always end up going back to my research."

"It's no problem, really." You say with a smile. He rubbed the back of his neck.

"I truly am grateful for everything you've done. Not just because I can get your opinion on these things, either...It's more like... it's as if I'm talking to an old friend. Ah, but maybe that's too personal. After all, this is all for the sake of our deal, so we say anyway." Maruki said as you could sense the bond of friendship between you two. "Ah, your exam is coming up. I could give you some tips until then?"

"That would be great!" You said as Maruki began telling you much information. As you were about to leave, you placed your hand in the door frame and looked at him. "Hey, Doc... What's your quirk?"

It seemed as if the room suddenly got colder, your body froze but it suddenly stopped. He looked up at you confused. "Hm? My quirk? Oh, it's nothing special. I can't really use it anyway."

You figured you shouldn't question it anymore and left. Soon, a week had gone by and the day was here. The exams happen at three places at the same time but different dates. From what Morgana told you, schools can only have one class at a time, hence Class 1-A. You all were also the only first years to take the exam. You, Akechi, Kasumi, and the rest of the class find yourselves at Takoba National Arena, the stadium where the exams will happen.

"There's gonna be a lot of eyes on us." Akechi stated. "Especially since you're here."

"Me?" You asked as Izuku nodded.

"That would make sense, seeing as you fought All-That villain on T.V. If you were a hero, I'd say that would be your hero debut." He stated as Jiro rubbed her arm.

"Uhh, I'm kinda nervous!" She said as Mineta started hopping around.

"I wonder what they're gonna make us do? What if I can't get my license?"

"Mineta..." Aizawa said to the small lad. "Don't ask if you can, say you will."

You smiled at the scene and looked around at the many different people. "There's probably a lot of people here with powerful quirks. I can't help but feel intimidated a little."

"It's only natural." Aizawa said. "If you pass this test and get your provisional license, then your novice eggs will hatch into chicks, you'll be semi-pros. I expect your best."

"Alright! I can't wait to be a heroic chicken!" Kaminari said as you started chuckling.

"Let's call out the usual, you guys!" Kirishima said as you nodded. "On my mark, Go Plus-!"

"ULTRA!!!" Someone came and shouted. You all looked confused but it seemed he was from another school.

"You know it's pretty rude to barge into other peoples business hurdles like that, Inasa." Another classmate scolded him.

"WHAT?! Pardon me! I am so..." Inasa then slammed his head on the ground with a massive bow. "Very, extremely, sorry!"

"...Are you okay? Mentally?" Akechi asked as Inasa put his head up.

"I assure you I am fine!"

"Who is this guy? I don't trust his enthusiasm!" Kaminari gave out his opinion.

"Look at their uniforms. They're from that famous school on the other side of Japan!" Sero said as Kasumi scoffed.

"U.A in the east, Shiketsu on the west." She said as you sighed.

"Just when you think you know the world..." You said as some of the students were looking at you with curiosity.

"I wanted to say it just once, Plus Ultra! See, I really like you, U.A High School! I'm extremely honored to compete against such great students!" Inasa said as he then pointed to you. "And your that guy that took down the major villain! That was really awesome! Aizawa must have trained you well!"

"Inasa Yoarashi..." Aizawa interrupted. Hagakure looked at her teacher.

"You know this guy, Mr. Aizawa?"

"Indeed." He replied and most of the class was shocked. "He's strong. He's the same year as you all, and received he top score from students admitted through recommendations. But for some reason, he turned down all offers from U.A and went to Shiketsu."

"Wait, he's our age?" Izuku asked in disbelief. Akechi looked at him.

"That means a glass cannon like you need to be extra careful." He said as Izuku nodded.

"Right!"

"Great to meet you, U.A student. Please excuse me." Inasa said and walked off with his classmates.

"Is anyone else confused here?" Sero asked. "That guy says that he loves our school, but he turned down his chance to enroll when it was offered?"

"Life happens. Maybe it was a family issue, there's too much we don't know, so let's not go making assumptions." You say as everyone agreed.

"He's the real deal. Keep an eye on him." Aizawa said. Suddenly, two women's voices were heard and Akechi and Aizawa were shaken.

"Eraser? I know that scowl from anywhere!"

"Ah, Akechi!"

You looked at the women to see a green haired woman with a bandana. "I saw you at the Sports Festival, but it's been a while since we've been this close!"

"She looks familiar." Izuku said as you were to focused on trying not to laugh.

"Let's get married!" She PROPOSED?!

"No." HE REJECTED!

"Haha! You're a real laugh riot, Buddy!" She said as Aizawa shook his head.

"As usual; you're impossible, Joke." He said as Izuku caught on.

"Oh! That's Ms. Joke, The Smile Hero! Her quirk is outburst! She forces people around her to laugh, which affects their ability to think and keeps them from being able to move!" Izuku said as Joke got closer.

"Come on! Imagine it! If I was your wife, you'd have a future full of constant laughter!" She pestered on.

"That sounds like an actual nightmare." Aizawa retorted with his same bored face.

"You two seem close." You teased Aizawa and he glared at you.

"Our agencies were near each other. As young heroes striving to make a difference in the world, a mutual love bloomed!" Joke affectionately said.

"No, it didn't!" Aizawa immediately saidZ

"I do miss your quirk retorts! You're my favorite person to tease, Future Husband!" She said as you looked at the girl in the back as she waved to Akechi. You and Kasumi smirked at him as he was trying to hide his blush.

"So, Joke. If you're here, then that must mean..." Aizawa continued.

"That's right." She then quickly turned around and called her class. "Over here, everyone! This is U.A! Second Years from Ketsubutsu Academy, Class 2. They're my students."

Many students came forward but a familiar woman strolled up to Akechi. "Goro~! Surprise!"

"A-Ah, yes. Hey, Har-Okumura." Akechi tried to get rid of his blush. Haru got a menacing aura.

"Okumura...?" She said darkly as you and the class got a chill down your spines.

"Hey! I'm Shindo!" A copy and paste Izuku appeared. "Seems like U.A has had quite a lot of trouble this year. Must have been rough for you!" For some reason, he was shook the hands of the students. "Even so, you're still all aiming to become heroes, despite those hardships! Wonderful hearts of fortitude! I believe that's what every hero in the world need to have!" He then turned to you. "And Uraraka, it must have been hard for you with that kidnapping incident."

"..." You stated quiet and you definitely didn't need Third Eye to see through him.

"You have a especially strong will, don't you? Especially since you defeated that major villain with All Might!" He went for a handshake. "Today, I'm gonna do my best to learn from you. I really hope you don't mind."

You slapped his hand away. "You should stop pretending. You're transparent."

"Hey! Don't be so rude, man!" Kirishima said to you. "Sorry, he's normally not like that."

"It's fine, it proves how tough his heart is!" Shindo said as someone walked walked up to Shoto.

"Hey, Todoroki! Can I have your autograph? You were so cool at the Sports Festival!" The girl said as you and Akechi froze.

"I see, so it's as I predict..." Akechi thought.

"This will be difficult, but it's a good time to get more practice on my new moves ... if they do know all our moves." You thought as Aizawa looked at the class.

"Hey! Get your costumes and head to orientation! There's no time to waste!" He shouted as the class nodded.

"Yes, Sir!" They shouted as Jiro spoke up.

"It's weird, I always forget we're famous to other students." She said as Kaminari nodded.

"Oh yeah, we're basically celebrities." He explained as Akechi scoffed.

"If you truly think that's a good thing, then you're more of a fool than I thought."  He said as the class were confused. The class headed to the orientation event after suiting up in their costumes. Almost 1,500 students from all over the country with all kind of quirks to take the exam. While you waited for something, you thought of something...

"How was I still able to use that part of my quirk?" That's right. During the fight with AFO, your power still increased and got unstable as you got more angry... Something that only affect Zeroes. "So... maybe my quirks gone, but the genes aren't complete erased... That's the only way I can explain it. So I'll have to be careful not to overuse the wild card. Wouldn't want all the quirks I have to go out of control..."

Eventually the staff member came but he looked dead inside. He was a total mood, but what's more important was the orientation had finally begun. "Basically 1540 examiners compete in our free-for-all exercise or whatever we're calling it this year. See... we've got a lot of pros around, and since Stain was arrested, many have expressed doubt about heroes in our society. But if you really think about it, getting paid makes sense. If you're going to risk your life to safe someone, why shouldn't you ask for a reward? That's just the way the world works, god, I could use a coffee. Anyway, whether you're in for compensation or out of a sense of duty, we got too many heroes  working in the streets these days to keep villains at bay. Honestly, the time between when an incident begins and when it's resolved, it's ridiculously short. You are here trying to receive your Provisional License, so you'll be seeing under this tiresome mess yourselves pretty soon. Those of you who don't have the speed simply won't cut it. Which is what you'll be tested on today. The first 100 students who fulfill the requirements will pass today."

You smirked, all that training with Miruko, Aizawa, and little from Saitama will finally pay off. Now you just need to make sure you find the targets.

"So anyway. Here are the basic rules. Each examiner will have six of these balls, the targets are programmed to light up whenever they've been hit by a ball. They can go anywhere as long as it exposed, so no soles or armpits. If your three targets light up, you're out. The person who lights your final target gets credited for your defeat. You get through this round by eliminating two people." The staff member said as the officials came and passed around the targets and balls for the examinees. Suddenly, the entire building they were in folded open revealing the big arena. There were different areas and terrains to use their respective quirks. The examined ran off to find better spots. Izuku looked at the class.

"We have a better chance to get through this if we stay together. We'll fight them as a group!" He said as you started walking away. "N/n...?"

"We're can't always back each other up. I need to know if my strength alone can handle...." You stopped yourself from saying anymore and kept walking. Kasumi walked towards you but then saw the despair your face, and stopped. She then walked a different direction.

"That's right, Y/n's not always going to be there for me. I need to prove that I handle this all on my own. This isn't a field trip!" She said and walked off.

"Hey! Wait up!" Kirishima said as he and Kaminari followed her. Shoto ran off as well.

"I'm out too. I can't use make good use of my power if we're packed together." He said and dashed off.

"Yes, I should head off as well. If Haru finds me then I might as well be dead." Akechi said and sprinted off. You ran until you were father away from everyone. You felt like... you had changed somehow... like you weren't the go happy person you once were...no! You could still go back and forget all the pain the villains caused you!

"Now... seeing as they know our moves, I should in the clear." You heard the ground move a couple minutes later and the ground started shifting. You turned around at the footsteps to see hordes of examines come at you.

"If we take down this guy, we'll be legends!"

"I can't wait to see the look on me mum's face!"

"Is that right?" The ground started to shake after your comment. Your dark shadow covered your face as all your target were placed on your back. "You think you can take me?"

"H-He's bluffing!" One of the girls said as they tried to throw things at you. You simply stepped on the ground with Miruko's quirk and the ground was raised. The wall protected you as one of the other people smirked at you.

"I got this! Take THIS!!!" The boy shot a plasma beam through the ground and destroyed your wall. The group smiled. "Yes! I got him! Now all we need to do is get him down and there'll be one less U.A student to wreck our style."

"Funny. I didn't know you had style." You said as you quickly punched the student in the stomach, making him fly back far. You then aimed your pal at the girls and launched a huge explosion out.

"AGGHGGAHAGAHAHHH!!!" The group screamed out as Aizawa and Joke are seen looking at it in the stands.

"Holy-! What was that?! Someone was definitely hurt in that explosion!" Joke said in worry.

"I wouldn't be so sure." Aizawa said with a smirk.

"Huh?" Joke turned towards Aizawa.

"If it's who I think it is, then I wouldn't worry about it. He might have changed and be in a rut right now, but his kind and caring nature is still there... no matter how hard he tries to deny it." Aizawa said as you are seen pulling everyone to safety before the explosion could hurt them.

"So, do you guys give up?" You asked as some of them stopped moving but the others got back up.

"Are you an idiot!? Of course not!" One said as he charged at you. You closed your eyes.

"If I can harness the energy of One for All and the remaining fragments of my own quirk, then maybe I can change the Plus Ultra attack..." You gave it a shot and quickly moved to the side. When he was close enough you shot out the harnessed energy of OFA taken form.

"Whoa! It really worked!" You shouted as you quickly dashed to him and eliminated the one guys.

"Huh? Only one?" The others asked. You started to walk away.

"It's not fair for others." You said as Aizawa was seen smiling at your action, as if he could somehow see what you were doing. You decided to run using Miruko's quirk and noticed you gained rabbit ears. You tried hiding them but they still came. "Oh man, I'm never letting Miruko see this..."

You saw Akechi getting chased but he was actually running away... from a fight.... who are you? "Y/n?!"

"Uh, what are you doing, Goro? The way out is that way." You pointed to the door but he grabbed your shoulders and started shaking you.

"You got to help me! She'll be here any minute!" He said as you scoffed.

"You mean Haru? I have no idea why you're so scared of her. I mean its not like-" "I found you~" An axe flew by yours and Akechi's head and landed on the ground. You and Akechi froze and slowly turned around. Haru was seen in her costume looking down as the Axe went back into her hand.

Haru can move things with her mind and psychically damage her foes as long as her mind is stronger than theirs! To do so, Haru has to instill fear into the heart of her enemies! Doing that makes their mind weaker! Talk about sadistic!

"All yours." "NO WAY!!!" Goro shouted at you as you tried to run away. Haru looked at you as well.

"Oh! How fun! You're a part of the phantom thieves too? Then I should help you push our limits!" "I'd appreciate if you hold off your wonderful remarks until after you stop approaching me and have a weapon in your hand." You quickly retorted her comment as Haru threw the axe to the ground. Akechi immediately ran away.

"Run away, Dumbass!!" He shouted and you were confused. Then you saw the ground around you rising higher and higher!

"WAIT UP!!" You shouted as you immediately used Iida's quirk to boost out of there. The ground started to cause and earth quake as you saw the ground in the air started flying towards you. You quickly dodged the first attack and leapt up in the air for the second one. "Damn it, Goro! Use your sword!"

"I've already tried! She's already won! She just wants to get me back for something I did." He said as you glared at him.

"So you dragged me into this!?" You said as you immediately activated Aizawa's quirk but noticed if you stopped Haru'a quirk, it would kill some of the examinees. "Did she plan that out already?! Just who is this woman? She's giving me Ara Ara vibes and not the ones that Kasumi lovingly give me when she loses a bet."

"If we can find eliminate two people, then we can go to the exit!" Goro said as you nodded. You landed on your feet. You took a deep breath.

"Alright, it's time to use my real strength... ONE FOR ALL!!! 45%!" You shouted and immediately you could feel that you weren't ready for this power, like Ectoplasm said. You gritted your teeth through the pain as the ground came flying at you. You harnessed the power in your fist and broke it apart.

"Huh?" Haru didn't understand what was happening so you quickly ran to to her to her. She looked at the rubble falling down and quickly picked it up the rubble before it fell with her quirk. You quickly ran past her and looked at Goro.

"SCATTER!!" You shouted as you both ran away. You could feel Haru's bloodlust but she was too busy keeping the rubble from falling. You saw Shoto in the area you were heading and quickly used Iida's quirk and jumped in the air. "SHOOOOOOOOOTOOOOOOOO!!!"

"...?!..." Shoto shivered as if he was having PTSD but then looked up to see you high in the air. He smirked and remembered when the two of you first met. He then say you extends you leg like Miruko and quickly started running away. You combined Iida's quirk and Miruko's for the ultimate speed and power. You went crashing to the ground and destroyed most of the area.

"What the-?!"

"What happened?!"

"I don't know! Something just crashed into us-GAHHHHH!

"Wait! You're telling me, you're actually worried about your class this year?" Joke asked in shock.

"There's something I realized watching my students, in the school and out in the field. In this class, there are three pillars that inspire everyone." Aizawa said as Joke started looking at him. "Their actions never fail to drive the others forward, like they're leaders. The image of you, Kasumi, and Izuku appeared in his head. "Some are polar opposite, while the others are more similar then they could have ever thought. Their passion quickly got to the rest of their peers. When there's something major happening, you can bet one of these three are in the middle. And him..." Aizawa then gets a glimpse of you before you crash down on the ground and break it apart. "He's cam hold the whole class together with a simple smile. I'm not worried, Joke... In fact, I'm eager to see where these three are going."

"You put on quite the show." You said as you smirked with the wings out of your costume.

"I wonder what else you got for me!" You smiled as Shoto came back.

"Are you okay?" Shoto asked as you winded up you arms and smiled.

"Me? If you don't count being chased by Akechi's girlfriend, I'm fine!" You said as some the people started to get up. You smirked. "Do you think you can take them?"

"Did you have to ask?" He said as you used fire and Shoto used Ice.  "It's Showtime!"

You were seen flying in the air with your fire as Shoto is seen sliding underneath the legs of the fire with his ice. You made a ring of fire around the targets and fell to the ground. You and Shoto disappeared as the targets were confused. Until you came out through the ring of fire and punched one in the face before hopping back out in the ring of fire. They were shocked as they realized what was happening. Shoto came and kicked on in the stomach, sending them to you before you kicked him back. You both kept punching and attacking them before they tried to attack and you two escaped. Eventually you and Shoto raised your hands outside the ring of fire and the flames and ice flooded upwards, knocking the examinees out.

"Well, that was fun." You said as you took the targets and eliminated them. All three of your targets lifted up.

"You've passed, so please proceed to the reception room. Quickly, now." Yours and Shoto's targets said. You wondered how the rest of the class were doing.

"URARAKA-KUN!!!" You heard a voice of a demonic creature and saw Haru flying at you. You quickly swept Shoto off his feet and carried him, bridal style to the room using ice. You smirked at Shoto as he was unamused.

"I'm not going to stop running this time." You said.

"You still hold a grudge about that? I'm sorry I stopped moving, just put me down!" He said as you shook your head. You started laughing and Shoto couldn't help but smile.

"No way, Shoto, Nothing wrong with carrying a best friend away from their friend's girlfriend whose ready to kill." You said as Shoto had much to think about that sentence as you entered the room.
