"Mom, why did Adrien leave?"  Bethany asks.

     "I could let him ask me out," Marinette says.

     "Why not?" Bethany asks.

   " I thought you liked him,"  Bethany remarks.

   "Bethany it could never work out for Adrien and I." Marinette says.

   "Why?"  Bethany asks.  She does not understand.

    "I am not ready to date anyone again," Marinette says.

    "I think you are afraid you will like it." Bethany remarks.

   "Do not be silly," Marinette tells her daughter.

    "Mom, you hurt his feelings."  Bethany says.

   "I will find a way to make it up to him," Marinette tells her.

  Meanwhile, with Adrien, he thinks, great I think everything is ruined between Marinette and I.  

  "Dude, what happened?"  Nino asks.

 " She told me we have nothing in common, but how can she be so sure?" Adrien asks. He looks at the ground when he talks because he is so upset.

   "I never got to say how I feel.  It is too late for me and her." Adrien says sadly.

"Wow, that is rough. I just think she is too afraid to move on," Nino says.

   "You are telling me, it really stinks,"  Adrien says.

    "Do not give up on her young man," Some old man says.

   "What?  She does not love me and never will love me." Adrien says.

    "This is just her sadness over her husband's death speaking," The old man says.

     "Adrien he is right, Marinette has not gotten over the tragic death of her man years ago,"  Alya says.

    "Marinette is not ready to move on yet," Alya tells him.

 Back to Marinette and Bethany...

 "Mom, how will you make it up to him?" Bethany asks.

"Oh, you will see soon," Marinette says.

 Marinette's text to Adrien

  Sorry, I hurt you. I am just not ready to move on yet.

Bethany thinks I hope my Mom dates Adrien at some point. She believes they would be good together since Adrien loves her mother.

   Adrien sees the text and thinks, so everyone is right.
