Chapter 3.
" Did that note say anything about what time to meet him in the park?" Alec asked. They were standing by the door. It had been a few hours and was nearly nightfall, they had been siting and talking for a while, trying to discuss everything about the notes, and now Alec was just about to take off for the park.
Magnus shook his head. " No, it doesn't say anything about time, it just say tonight, and that could be anytime." Says Magnus.
" Yes, so I recomend you get going. You know, so you don't miss him." Says Jace.
" I'm not going to miss him." Says Alec.
" You sure about that?"
" Jace, just shut up." Says Alec. He then looked at Magnus. " I'll be back soon, and then I'll tell you everything then."
Magnus nodded. Alec then turned and walked down the front steps and down the sidewalk. He stoped after a couple steps and looked back to see the other watching him as he walked off. " HEY JACE!!" Yelled Alec.
" WHAT?!!!" Yelled Jace back.
Alec grinned. " YOU BETTER DO SOMETHING WITH THAT ZIT!!! I CAN SEE IT FROM HERE!!!" Yelled Alec.
He then laughed and took off running as he heard Jace screaming behind him. Once he was far enough and Jace's screams were gone, Alec slowed his pace to a light jog. He didn't go unarmed. He carried two small daggers, one in each boot. A stele of course, he had a big dagger hidden in his gear along with something Magnus made sure he had in case he needed help. It was some type of thing he could use to alert Magnus that he needed help.
He was geting closer to the park just as the sun was setting over the building, by the time he made it to the park it was dark and streetlamps were all off, all except for two, straight in the middle of the park, and there standing under one of the lights was a tall figure,
Alec slowly walked up til he was under the light from the second street lamp. The guy in front of him chuckled. " Alexander, so glad you could make it."
Alec then spoke. " Who are you?" Says Alec.
" Oh right, sorry. Where are my manners?!" Says the guy. He looked at Alec and gave a smile that was both creepy and seemingly friendly. " I'm Sami."
When Alec didn't respond the smile on Sami's face faded. He took a step forward. " Don't take another step." Says Alec.
Sami took another step forward anyway. " What do you want Sami?" Says Alec.
" Vengeance Alexander, I want vengeance." Says Sami.
" Vengeance for what?" Says Alec.
" That will be explained soon enough." Says Sami.
" Fine, why did you leave the notes at the Institute?" Says Alec.
" I think the note at the Institute explained itself quite well." Says Sami
" No It didn't."
" Well what do you not understand about it?" Says Sami, his head tilting to the right some.
" What I don't understand about it is why you want vengeance, you also said what we did will not go unpunished. What on earth could we have done?" Says Alec.
Sami looked a bit angry now. " As I said a minute ago, that will all be explained soon enough." Says Sami.
Alec sighed. " Fine then, why did you leave that note for Magnus?" Says Alec.
Sami gave a small laugh. " That wasn't just a note, it was glimps at the future." Says Sami.
Alec looked at him a bit confused. " Your planing on killing us?" Says Alec.
" Yes." says Sami. Alec's eyes went wide. " Unless I get what I want."
" What is it you want?" Says Alec.
Sami took another step forward. Alec nearly took a step back, but didn't. " I want something." Says Sami. Alec was about to say something when Sami held his hand up. " Something that you guys have, and I'll get it anyway possible. Even if that means I have to kill you."
" Ok, then what is it that you want?"
" Well before I tell you, I want to make sure you came alone." Says Sami. Alec was about to say he did when Sami stuck his hands out, they were glowing blue. A ring of blue spread out from his body and around the entire park, it startled Alec, he backed up a few steps, his right hand about to go for a dagger. Sami had his eyes closed.
" Good, you did come alone." Says Sami as he lowered his hands to his side. He reopened his eyes and looked at Alec.
" Well of course I came alone. You said come alone, and I didn't want to risk you killing anyone." Says Alec.
" Smart Alexander, very smart." Says Sami.
" Ok, now that you know for sure that I'm alone. What is it you want from us?" Says Alec.
Sami took two more steps forward, now he was no more then two feet in front of Alec. " I want a spell that Magnus Bane has. A spell he's told no one about cause its to risky. ask him about it, say that I need a spell that no one else has. He'll know what it is." Says Sami.
" Is that why you want me?" To ask him a simple question or to pass on a message?" Says Alec. He then held his hand up and motioned around him. " Why am I here? Why didn't you ask Magnus to come here himself?"
" I wanted you to come. I have a separate favor to ask you, and if you don't agree to do it, two people will turn up dead by morning." Says Sami.
Alec nodded. " Fine, what favor do you want from me?" Says Alec.
Sami smiled wider. " Here's where things will explain themselves. see you very soon Alexander. I'll be here when you wake." Says Sami. He took another step forward and place his hands to Alec's temples, and before Alec could protest to what Sami was doing, his sight darkened and he blacked out.
( Back at the Intitute.)
Magnus looked anxiously out the window looking for Alec who had yet to show back up. He left at nine and it was nearly two in the morning. It was really starting to worry him. " Jace, he's fine right?" Says Magnus.
Jace sighed. " Yes Magnus, he's fine, I would know first if he wasn't." Says Jace.
Magnus sighed and sat down puting the heels of his hands to his forehead. " I know, but I can't help but worry. I mean we don't know this guy." Says Magnus.
" Magnus look at me." Says Jace.
Magnus removed his hands from his forehead and looked up at Jace. " He's fine. He's carrying three daggers a the thing you have him, he'll be fine, I promise." Says Jace.
" You can't promise that." Says Magnus.
" No I can't, but I can sure as heck try." Says Jace.
Magnus managed to smile at that. " So, who's hungry?" Says Isabelle walking in with a plate of blueberry muffins.
Jace looked at them cautiously. Isabelle laughed. " Don't worry Jace. Clary made them." Says Isabelle
Jace grined and walked over to her. " In that case... " he then scooped up a couple.
He turned around. " Magnus, heads up." Yelled Jace tossing the Warlock one. Magnus caught it a took a bite.
" Thanks Jace." Says Magnus, and there they say, eating and waiting for when Alec would return, and praying that he would return unharmed.
( Back with Alec.)
Things flooded his mind while he was unconscious, memories from Sami made to look like dreams.

Sami was leaning on a railing overlooking to streets of Brooklyn. People with bags slung over their shoulders and briefcases in their hands walked across the street and down the sidewalks. Sami was waiting for someone, he had to have a serious talk with him.
" You know it's dangerous to lean against the railing like that. You could fall."says a guy behind him.
Sami managed a small smile and replied without turning around. " Hello Evan, glad you could make it."
" What your not going to turn around to even look at me?" Says Evan.
" Don't have to, I know what you look like." Says Sami.
Evan just laughed. A ring of red magic then appeared around Sami's waist and forced him to turn around, then it was gone. " There, now we can talk." Says Evan.
Evan stood there looking at Sami with blood red eyes. Sami growled a deep growl. The smile fades off Evan's face with that growl. " Don't use your magic on me again, understand!!" Spat Sami.
Evan nodded. He then put his hands up. " Ok, let's put fooling around aside and just get down to business." Says Evan.
" Ok, did you do what I asked you to?" Says Sami.
Evan nodded. " Yes, I got what you needed." Says Evan holding up a bag.
Sami walked forward and reached for it, but Evan casually moved it out of his reach. " Nuh uh, tell me what it is you need this stuff for first, and then I'll give it to you." Says Evan.
Sami smiled. " Well Evan. I need this stuff to carry out a plan I have. I also have a separate plan for you, but I won't tell you untill you give me my bag of stuff." Says Sami.
Evan smirked and lowered the bag and handed it to him. " Very well, you got my attention." Says Evan.
Sami smiled and took it. " Magnus Bane is the high Warlock of Brooklyn, he is also one of the most powerful Warlocks there is. He has spells in his house that I want, and I think I found his number one weakness." Says Sami.
" What would that be?"
" Alexander Lightwood, Magnus cares a great deal for the puny Shadowhunter." Says Sami, turning to face Evan again.
He set his stuff down and walked up to Evan. " You want power, unimaginable power. Don't lie to me, cause I can see it written on your face and in those blood red eyes, your power hungry." Says Sami.
Evan smiled again. " Well if you follow the plan I have for you, everything will turn out perfect. You'll rule over the entire Shadowhunter population, and I can help you with that." Says Sami.
" How are you planing on doing that?" Says Evan.
" I found a spell that will let you control the minds of anyone you choose, and they'll have no choice but to obey, the only down side about it is it requires two Warlocks to make it work properly, you could do it with one Warlock, but the spell will not be as strong and will wear off after a couple of days. I will tell you more about this soon and explain why you need Magnus and Alexander for it, but for now I have work to do." Says Sami. He walked away from Evan and picked back up his stuff.
" Wait, what is it that you want? I mean if you have the spell why don't you want to take control, I mean why give it to me?" Says Evan.
Sami walked up to Evan one last time. " Because Evan, I need Alexander Lightwood to do something different for me first before you carry out your plan."
" What would that be?" Says Evan.
" Theres a small book the I know Magnus keeps on his closet hidden away from everyone, I don't even think he's told Alexander, but I want Alexander to get it for me without telling anyone about it, or what he's doing." Says Sami.
" What's so special about that one small book?" Says Evan.
" The spell that's in it. I need that spell, and if he fails to get it to me without anyone noticing or knowing, I'll kill Magnus Bane."
Evan nodded. " Meet me back here in a couple days and I'll tell the first task you need to do, till then I'll see you around brother." Says Sami. Then he walked away leaving Evan there by himself.
*•*•*•*•*•*•*•*•*•*
When Alec came to the first thing he realized was Sami was standing right next to him. " Finally you woke. It's like two in the morning. Your friends are probably worried to death about you." Says Sami.
Alec's body felt weak and heavy. He turned his head to the side and looked at Sami. He summoned all his energy to speak, but could barely get a full sentence out. " Yo-you... Want m-me t... to... ?" But he couldn't even finish.
" Yes, and you will do it, or like I said two people will turn up dead by morning. You have a two days to get me that book, or things worse then two people dying will happen. So are you going to do it?" Says Sami. Alec had no choice, his job was to protect people, not get them killed, he looked at Sami and nodded yes.
Sami smiled. " Good, till we meet again, Goodnight Alexander." Says Sami turning around. He began to walk away, but Alec had something really important to ask him. " Wait." Says Alec. Sami froze and looked over his shoulder at the shadowhunter. " You... Your Evan's brother?"
Sami smirked. " I think you already know the answer to that one Alexander." Then he turned and walked away.
Alec looked at the stary night sky. The second Sami left the other street lamps around the entire park turned on. Evan was Sami's brother. It all made sense now. That was the last thought that went through his mind before his vision darkened and he blacked out.
