~3rd Person POV~

"Wait a second," Galinda said as she put on her robe after the dance. The trio were now back in their dorms and undressing for the night. "That was your very first party?" She took the clips out of her hair. "Ever?"

"Do funerals count?" Elphobus questioned, sitting on his bed. (Y/n) sat beside him, now wearing her nightgown and robe.

The sisters laughed and Galinda sat down on the other side of Elphobus. "That was funny." (Y/n) laughed and Elphobus smiled. "Thank you."

"I couldn't remotely sleep." Galinda flopped over. "Neither can I." Elphobus agreed.

The blonde gasped. "I know! Let's each tell the other something we've never told anyone! I'll go first!" She quickly said and the other two listened. "Fiyero and I are getting married!" Galinda squealed and fell back onto the bed.

(Y/n) and Elphobus stared at each other in shock and looked back at the girl. "He asked you already?" They asked in unison.

"Oh, he doesn't know yet."

(Y/n) blinked.

"Now you tell us a secret." Galinda nudged (Y/n).

The girl thought for a moment. "I... actually didn't find your green skin scary when I first met you." (Y/n) looked at the boy beside her.

Galinda sighed. "That's not a secret!"

Elphobus shook his head. "No, tell me more."

(Y/n) shrugged. "Well, we have talking animals in our schools that teach us History and English. Surely green skin isn't that unbelievable."

Elphobus raised a brow. "And for loathing?..."

(Y/n) cleared her throat awkwardly. "I was worried you took mine and Galinda's chance at being a sorceress." She paused. "But I should be happy for others. It's kind of cool you got on Madame Morrible's radar..." The boy and (h/c) made eye contact for a moment.

Galinda threw herself between the two. "Now you tell us a secret!"

The boy shrugged. "Like what?"

(Y/n) thought for a moment. "Like..." She brightened up. "Like--" She reached under his pillow. "why do you sleep with this little green bottle under your pillow?"

Elphobus lept up to grab it but the girl instinctively pulled it away. "Give it back!" Elphobus shouted.

"Oh come on-- tell!" Galinda shouted.

"Give it--"

"We wanna know!" (Y/n) laughed.

"Just--" He reached around the (h/c).

"Not until you tell--"

Elphobus yanked it back to himself. "Give it back!"

The girls stopped.

"It was my mother's, that's all," Elphobus stated after collecting himself, putting the bottle back under his pillow.

Galinda turned away. "Well that's not fair, I told you a really good one." She ran to her bed and flopped down onto it dramatically.

(Y/n) stood behind Elphobus and watched blankly at her sister's dramatics.

Elphobus sat on his bed in thought before he approached the blonde.

Galinda looked up and over to see if Elphobus was still looking and quickly put her face back in her bed.

The other two chuckled until the boy spoke up. "My father hates me."

Galinda gasped and (Y/n)'s brows raised. "What?" They questioned in unison.

Elphobus chuckled. "That's not the secret."

"Oh." The girls said, sitting down together to listen to the boy.

"The secret is... He has a good reason." He looked at the girls. "It's my fault." He stated.

(Y/n) shook her head. "What is?" She questioned, scooting closer to sit beside him on the floor.

"That my sister is the way she is." He turned his attention to the (h/c). "When our mother was carrying Nessa, our father began to worry. That the new baby might come out..."

"Green..." They all said together.

"He was so worried, he made our mother drink milk flowers, day and night. Only it made Nessa come too soon... and her little legs were..." He paused. "And our mother... well-- she never woke up."

(Y/n) looked at the ground, taking his story in.

"None of which would ever have happened... if not for me. So, it's my fault."

"But that was the milkflowers' fault, not yours," Galinda stated.

(Y/n) looked back at him, placing a gentle hand on his shoulder. "That may be your secret, Elphobus, but it doesn't make it true."

The two shared a smile until Galinda gasped. "Look." She pointed out the window that had the sun pouring through into the dorm. "It's tomorrow."

The blonde stood up. "And Elphie-- can I call you Elphie?" She gasped.

Elphobus grimaced. "It's a little perky."

"I love it." (Y/n) quickly agreed and yanked the boy up, throwing herself and Elphie to the bed, and sat back up.

Galinda gestured to herself. "And you can call us... (Y/n) and Galinda."

Elphobus blinked. "That is your name."

"Let's not quarrel!" Galinda quickly stated. "Because Elphie--now that we're friends, I've decided to make you our new project!"

The boy shook his head. "You really don't have to do that--"

"We know." (Y/n) shrugged with a smile. "That's what makes us so nice." She winked.

Galinda sat on the other side of Elphobus and pointed her foot, causing the green-skinned boy to raise a brow. "Whenever I see someone less fortunate than I..." Galinda leaned in. "And let's face it, right? Who isn't less fortunate than I?"

Galinda grabbed a pink shawl and (Y/n) grabbed a (f/c) one, the two wrapping it around the boy. "Our tender heart tends to start to bleed...

Galinda let go but (Y/n) used her shawl to yank him flat on the bed, the (h/c) lying beside him. "And when someone needs a makeover, she simply has to take over!" The two stared at each other. "I know, I know..." She paused to smile at him before abruptly sitting up. "Exactly what they need..." The sisters sang together.

Elphobus tried to sit up too, but (Y/n) put a hand on his face and pushed him back again. "And even in your case!" Galinda leaned over him and grabbed his glasses, the two girls staring at Elphobus' for a moment. (Y/n) bit back her smile.

Galinda smiled and shook her head. "Never mind..." She placed the glasses back on his head.

"What?" The boy questioned.

"I'm just gonna put these right back on here."

The blonde hopped off the bed and (Y/n) shook her head, turning to fix the boy's glasses.

"Though it's the toughest case I've yet to face..." Galinda sang and turned around. "Don't worry, I'm determined to succeed!

The girls jumped onto the chandelier and spun around the boy. "Follow our lead!" They fell onto the bed and leaned in close to Elphobus. "And yes, indeed. You will be..."

(Y/n) stayed where she was as Galinda ran into the middle of her room and opened a suitcase, revealing a fancy tray of cosmetics and skin care. "Popular!"

(Y/n) moved away to sit beside him and Galinda pulled out fancy clothes. "You're gonna be popular!" There were sparkly collared shirts and suits. "I'll teach you proper swirl when you talk to girls. Little ways to flirt and flounce!" She pointed at his shoes. "Ew."

"They look great." (Y/n) quickly whispered.

Galinda opened another compartment that contained shoes and boots. "I'll show you what shoes to wear, how to fix your hair." Galinda threw some shoes at Elphobus and grabbed a pair of red slippers, clicking them together and tossing them to her sister. "Everything that really counts to be popular!"

Galinda pulled her sister up and the two shimmied and twirled as the boy laughed. "I'll help you be popular!" (Y/n) closed the closet of outfits and Galinda opened a suitcase that contained a ball. "You'll hang with the right cohorts, you'll be good at sports!

"Know the slang you've got to know!" They sang together.

They both picked up Elphobus and dragged him across the room. "So let's start 'cause you've got an awfully long way to go..."

(Y/n) picked up a pair of (f/c) glasses and placed them on his face. "Don't be offended by her frank analysis.." (Y/n) advised.

"Think of it as personality dialysis!" Galinda added, trying on different hairstyles, and even putting a pink bow in his curly hair.

Elphobus slowly smiled, even with the bow. "Now that I've chosen to become a pal, a sister, and adviser, there's nobody wiser!" Galinda runs over to her vanity and turns it on. "Not when it comes to popular!"

(Y/n) and Elphobus ran to the mirror and rolled their shoulders back in sync.

"We know about popular!"

(Y/n) placed him on top of another suitcase. "And with an assist from she to be who you'll be!" Galinda moved beside him.  "Instead of dreary who-you-were.." She paused. "Well, are..."

Elphobus deadpanned.

Galinda turned the handle on the suitcase and Elphobus flew back. "There's nothing that can stop you from becoming populer!" The sisters gasped and looked at each other. "Lar!"

Elphobus laid on the stretcher with a blank face as (Y/n) and Galinda slid on two chairs around him. "La-la, la-la!" They threw their robes around as if they were swimming.

(Y/n) leaned over to poke his nose after each word. "She's gonna make you popular!" The sisters suddenly sighed and laid back, out of breath.

"This won't end well." Elphobus sighed and got up.

Galinda gasped and got up. "Elphie! You mustn't think that way--" (Y/n) ran over too. "Your whole life is going to change! And all because of her!"

The (h/c) took his hand and ran to the balcony. "When we see depressing creatures with unprepossessing features." She pointed to the different students in the quad. "We remind them on their own behalf to think of..." She climbed onto the railing as Elphobus panicked and held his arms out in case the girl fell.

(Y/n) jumped into his hold and leaped off him, running back into the dorm. "Celebrated heads of state or specially great communicators!

Galinda picked up a book called 'The Greatest Leaders of Oz'. "Did they have brains or knowledge?"

Elphobus put a finger up to answer. "Actually."

Galinda put a hand up. "Don't make me laugh, they were..."

"Popular!" Elphobus guessed.

The sisters beamed. "Right!" Galinda slammed the book down and ran around the room. "It's all about popular!" She lept through furniture, (Y/n) copying her movements and Elphobus... trying to.

"It's not about aptitude, it's the way you're viewed!" Galinda put a flower in her hair. "So it's very shrewd to be..." She grabbed her training wand and handed (Y/n) hers. "Very, very popular like me!"

(Y/n) pulled him over to a vanity. "Now. We toss our hair." Elphobus nodded in understanding. "Ready?" Galinda questioned and threw her head back. "Toss, toss."

Elphobus attempted to copy Galinda but with his short curls, it looked like he was dodging a bee. (Y/n) stayed silent.

"That's a choice," Galinda muttered.

Galinda picked up her wand. "Now, I shall transform your simple 'frock' slash simple coat, a froat-- into a magnificent suit." She twirled her wand around before pointing it at him. "Suit!"

Nothing happened.

"You try." Galinda turned to (Y/n).

"Okay, yeah." The (h/c) whirled her wand around and pointed it at the boy. "Suit!"

Galinda tried again. "Suit!" She groaned and slammed the wand on a table.

(Y/n) tried again and Elphobus held his arms out. "C'mon." He teased.

(Y/n) playfully glared at him. She twirled her hand again. "Suit!" Nothing. (Y/n) groaned. "I'm counting on you!" She yelled at the wand.

Galinda hummed and twirled the wand, slowly sinking to the floor as Elphobus raised a brow. "Suit!" She backed up and hit a dresser. "Seriously?!"

Elphobus took a step towards the sisters. "Do you need my help?"

(Y/n) held a hand out. "No! Just wear the froat, it's pretty." She dragged Elphobus into a chair. "Let's just start a little smaller..."

Elphobus sat down in front of the girl and Galinda looked into the vanity and gasped. She pulled a flower out of her hair and placed it behind the boy's ear. "...No." She took it out of his hair.

(Y/n) stared at the boy in thought before skipping to her Ozdust dress and taking a flower off of it. She ran back over to Elphobus and placed it in his hair. (Y/n) backed up and the girl admired the flower.

The boy admired the girl.

"(f/c) goes good with green." (Y/n) smiled.

"It goes well with green." Elphobus corrected.

"It so does." Galinda agreed, standing beside her sister.

The boy turned back to the vanity and stared at his green reflection, the (f/c) flower standing out behind his ear.

(Y/n) placed her hands on his shoulders and leaned down. "Why, Mister Elphobus, look at you-- you're handsome."

The boy smiled with tears in his eyes.

"I have to go." He abruptly stood up and walked out of the room, leaving the girls confused.

Galinda and (Y/n) ran out of the room, watching him go.

"You're welcome," Galinda stated.

The blonde looked over and paused at her reflection in a trophy case. "Oh hello... wow...."

(Y/n) continued to stare at where Elphobus once was. "And though you protest your disinterest... I know clandestinely..."

The sisters suddenly went to the floor and jumped back up. "You're gonna grin and bear it, your newfound popularity!" They sang together. They jumped off the walls and squealed. "La la, la la!"

(Y/n) threw her robe around as Galinda did a kick. "La la, la la!"

They scooted across a bench and twirled back down the hall. "La la, ohh!"

Galinda smiled. "You'll be popular..."

They ran back into their room and climbed over suitcases, kicking over the vanity's mirror to stand on it.

"Just not quite as popular as me!"

"Just not quite as popular as she!"
