Chapter 17: Stuck Here

(y/n) narrowed her eyes at Reo in a cold way. "So, what are you going to do to me?" She harshly blunted but Reo didn't seem to be offended.

"I'm using you as a hostage for a trade. Just so you know, I need your group to do all the work for me." (y/n) quirked a brow in confusion. Work? What could that possibly mean? Reo made an angry look on his face. He grimaced in anger and snapped, "Work. I've been looking for something, remember? I know why you infiltrated in the museum so I thought you already knew that I was planning to steal an ancient scroll, but seems like you don't understand. Goddamn. What is wrong with you?"

"How about you? What's up with you? How come you've never seen the truth?"

"You're acting strange. What do you mean by truth?"

"YOU'RE acting strange!" (y/n) shot back. "You are so blind that you never knew the truth about what happened to your mom!" Reo started growling for her bringing up that subject.

"Watch it or you're gonna die."

"Die? If I die, then you and your pet are back doing the search the hard way. My friends are experts in finding things and I bet we can find an item before two or three day, in a jippy." (y/n) smirked deviously. Obviously, it was just a joke. A simple whim to trick him. We can't even find Monochrome so would you expect us to find something like a dusty old ancient scroll?

Reo narrowed his eyes and stayed in his suspiciousions. "In a jippy, you say?" In the side, her smirk grew wider. He fell for it, alright. "And how does your methods work?"

"Secret."

"Answer me!" Reo sat up and got his earphones ready to grab my head and throw me down, crushing my skull.

"And what? What are you going to do to me?" I taunted.

"Kuso!" He cursed, getting rid of his earphones and sat back down his seat grumpily. "Geez. You're smart. I hate that."

"Hey, let's talk about your past for a while. Do you really hate Reo?"

"What kind of sick question is that?" He growled fearsomely. "Of course I do. Ugh. I hate the fact that you medddled with my memories, and you made me remember them too." He looked away and grumbled, "I would never forgive what Rei did."

(y/n) heaved out a sigh. "What was your mother like?"

He casted his head down, clasping his hands as his joints rested on his lap. "She was nice, pretty, amiable and a loving and caring mother. She loved us more than anything." His smile frowned as his face soured. "Anyways, why am I telling you this? You don't need to know anything."

He then snagged something out from his pocket. It seemed familiar to (y/n), and then it clicked. She gasped. "Hold up! That's my phone!" Reo gave her one last death glare before dialing (y/n)'s companions, practically. He settled the conditions and performed an exchange between (y/n) and the scroll.

(y/n) grimaced at the last part of what Reo said about "Killing her if they don't accept it". Reo looked gravely serious about this. He didn't seem to care who dies or if he loses his opportunity to get the scroll. She heard Misono's voice click his own tounge and accepted the deal but she had a bad vibe about the tone of his voice. His words sounded genuine but a bit part of it was saying to trick Reo.

Reo sat up from his stool and marched his way up to curious (y/n). "What are you looking at?!"

(y/n) just smiled and shrugged. "Sorry, but killing is not your style. A little boy such as you shouldn't spout nonsense like killing." She felt strong hands grab her collar and pulled her closer. It was none other than Reo. She met his angered eyes.

Reo wasn't aware of their faces being too close to one another. Their noses were touching each other and their breaths were mixing. Their lips were closer to one another. (y/n)'s heart was throbbing, pounding faster and faster. She set to smolder her feelings but they kept crawling back up to her throat, making her blush.

Reo was too focused on her eyes and busy rambling on and on about what ways he can do to make (y/n) feel pain. He then noticed her blush. Out of confusion, he scrunched his brows. "And what's up with your face?! Do you have a fever or something?!" He then paused in shock when his eyes trailed down on their noses that were touching each other.

He blushed hard when his eyes suddenly trailed down her lips. Holding himself back from doing something crazy, he scampered away from her. Unfortunately, his rump crashed down on its own. He groaned in pain and looked up to see (y/n)'s eyes looking down at him.

Just a moment there.. Her eyes..were a beautiful sight.. Reo resisted himself form doing anything unnecessary. He recovered and dusted his clothes. He cleared his throat and refused to look at (y/n), because he was blushing. "Oh, don't look at me like that! You're an enemy! A-As if I'll ever kiss you!" He walked up to her and went behind her to untie the ropes tying her up.

"Don't think of anything! Just stay absent-minded!" He grumbled and once (y/n)'s wrists were free. He restrained them with his wrist by a shackle connecting them together. Almost similar to what happens when there is a Servamp Bond but this one was different. "Try anything funny and the grip of these shackles will torture your wrists. I don't care if they get dirty. Chain Of Restraint is an ability of mine where I link someone with me.they are unbreakable and unremovable. Only I can remove them."

He pulled his wrist forward, dragging (y/n) to the ground. She skid her elbows over the rusty ground as if she was being treated like a slave. She heard footsteps in front of her and saw a silhouette blinding half of her sight. She looked up to see the view of Reo's ruthlessness.

He glared down at her as if she was trash. "Behave like a proper woman or else you won't get to see Sleepy Ash ever again."

"Master.." A voice chimed in. Zinfandel, or should I say, Aizen, crawled out from Reo's white scarf in his animal form. "You shouldn't treat her like that. If the enemies find out--"

"Damare." Reo blunted, not bothering to look at his Servamp. He was busy looking at (y/n). Zinfandel promptly rested on his Eve's shoulders in a quiet manner and didn't bother to speak anymore. "Your friends are probably devising a plan to save you, or either coming their way here now."

He dragged her to outside and led her to the main room. The maids who passed by were moving their eyes at (y/n) but then started to mind their own business for they feared Reo gravely. A prideful man approached Reo with a fawning smirk.

"Ne, Reo-san, what's that?" He jabbed his finger calmly at (y/n) who was laying down on the floor in shackles like a slave. Whoever this man is, he enjoyed seeing (y/n) pathetic or rather enjoys anyone who is pathetic.

"Isn't it obvious? A hostage, and she's not an it. She's a girl." Reo blunted prickly.

"A girl?" The man mocked a gasp. "Then why do ya treat her like a slave? That's harsh, Reo-san." He then grinned at him. "Hold up. A human girl, huh? Well, that's a first. You're not going to love her or anything, yeah--?"

"No! No way!" Reo blushed at his words. "You have the wrong idea! I don't love her! Geez, Resvelt! She's an enemy! I'm just..transporting to somewhere safe, I-I mean, less a possibility that she might escape! I'm doing this for the sake of the scroll! It's not like..I like her or anything, b-baka!"

The man, Resvelt who seemed to be one of the people who have the confidence to tease Reo, chuckled. "Nice Tsundere mode by the way." Reo blushed in embarrassment. Resvelt's gaze turned to (y/n). A smile pursed on his lips as he placed a hand on his hip. "Keeping her inside the dungeon, huh? Is she like..your treasure or something? A rare treasure that you value so much?"

Reo corrected him nervously. (y/n) was faintly blushed at this sude of Reo. He never shows emotions such as this. He was usually cocky, cheeky, hot-tempered, bossy and selfish. (y/n) stared at Resvelt who seemed to be laughing at Reo's hidden side.

Resvelt caught her gaze and calmly smiled. "Ah, I haven't introduced myself. My name's Baso Resvelt. Hate and Reo-san's subclass. Nice to meet ya, milady."

"Oi, don't befriend with the hostage!" Reo yelled.

But Resvelt instead had a goofy smile plastered on his face. He covered his mouth as he stifled a laugh. "Befriend? How about you? Aren't you already treasuring her beauty right now?" Reo was completely embarassed, especially hearing those words with somebody like (y/n) there to hear it as well.

"S-Shut up!"

"And all the king's motherfuckers shall bow down to the bestowed couple that is right before me!" Resvelt slapped his knee as he laughed and watched Reo fluster more. He seemed to enjoy teasing Reo a lot.

"Would you cut that out?! We are not a couple!" Reo suddenly turned his head to (y/n) with a determind look. "Right, (y/n)?" A hint of surprise suffused in (y/n)'s eyes. Reo never called her by name.

She just gave him a slight nod and watched the boy curse words at Resvelt in an annoyed yet flustered manner. Soon, Reo just ran away, carrying (y/n) by bridal style. (y/n) blushed as she saw Reo's face up close.

"Wh-Why are you carrying me..like this?" She muttered, giving Reo her heed of his form of carrying her. Reo blushed super red and dropped (y/n) by accident. (y/n) fell her rump on the floor and cursed words of regret of why did she even asked that?

"G-Gomene-- I-I mean, watch your mouth! Hostages aren't supposed to talk!" (y/n) just groaned in pain quietly. Reo pulled her back up by pulling her arms. "And stand up!"

"You're the one who dropped me." (y/n) glared over her shoulder where Reo was at. Reo blushed in embarrassment and admitted his mistake. This time he let (y/n) walk beside him but didn't allow her to talk.

"Kuro, are you okay?" A voice chimed from behind Kuro who sat in the corner of the room. It was Shirota Mahiru. The others gathered around to formalize a plan.

Kuro responded by giving his Eve a slight nod. Mahiru heaved out a sigh and decided to leave him alone for he understands that he just misses (y/n). The slothy cat, in his human form, gripped on his knees as he shuddered intensively. He intently stared at the wall in front of him, thinking, Wh-What is this feeling? Why do I feel like as if someone's taking (y/n) away from me?

I feel like something's dragging me somewhere but I don't know where.

Images of (y/n) with a dark figure by her side flashed into his mind. He dug his nails on his head, mentally pleading the images to stop. After a minute, the images stopped flooding in his mind. This is..something worse than regret!

Afterwards, she was lead to a dungeon. (y/n) sighed and looked around. "So, why did you bring me here?" She boredly said. Although, there wasn't quite boredom in her words.

"Oh, you are seriously deaf." Reo rolled his eyes. "This dungeon is unbreakable. You or your friends won't be able to make a hole and drag you out of here. And this is underground so have fun in the cold and dark night." He was about to leave but (y/n) stopped him by calling his name. "What?" A harsh tone weaved his words.

"You.. You forgot to remove your chains." Reo's eyes trailed down to his wrist and glanced at (y/n)'s. He blushed in embarrassment but that dispersed when he chose to stay confident. He did so by snapping his fingers. The link between them seperated and (y/n)'s shackles were tied to a wall.

He left without another word. (y/n) casted her head down with her hair serving like a curtain. She rested her hands on her lap and stared blankly at her hands. All she needed to do was stay quiet. She wanted to summon her Lead but that would be impossible since Reo's restraint blocked her resolve.

"I guess..I'm stuck here." She mumbled inside the dark snd chilly room. She wished for Ash's warmth to be there but she can never be able to call out his name. Because it'll never reach anyone.
