George Martin handed Linda a roll of film and clapped her shoulder. I cringed; that was her bad shoulder. She smiled back at him but I saw her grimace slightly when he left, rubbing the sore spot. She was too shy to tell him.

"You alright?"

"Yeah," she nodded.

Both John and George had brought in new songs they wrote. George went first with a lovely song called "For You Blue" which had a fun, bouncy tune to it. John had a beautiful one named "Across the Universe."

George spent fifteen minutes showing us how it went and giving us his ideas of how we would play to it, then we tossed ideas around for another twenty minutes. I was nearly falling asleep the whole time, though. My head kept bobbing as I fought to stay awake.

My eyes snapped open as I felt someone's hand on my shoulder. I didn't realise I'd fallen asleep again. "Paul, there's a cot in the back if you need it," Mal told me, looking a bit concerned.

"Oh, thanks Mal," I rubbed my eyes. "I think I'll be alr--" I drifted off mid-sentence as I completely fell asleep.

I was stuck in the centre of a large crowd of people who didn't recognise me, thankfully. I knew who some of them were though. I saw Allen Klein and all of the people working for him. Oh, I hated that man!

I knew the road I was on; I had lived here for years. There had never been so many people here before, but other than that nothing had changed.

All of a sudden, I saw a familiar face I hadn't seen in years. I pushed through the suffocating crowd as she stepped into a small faded brick house wearing her usual light-coloured dress under her bouncy black curls. I couldn't get there fast enough! In my rush I tripped on the sidewalk, scraping up my knee and the palms of my hands, but I didn't stop. She was too important, I couldn't wait!
