Being at the studio took up most of the day. We got back around 6:00, but it was still light out. I watched as Linda fiddled with her camera again.

~~~
She taught me how to make mashed potatoes. At one point I played around with the oven glove, talking to it and having it talk back...then ATTACK ME. Fortunately, I had the situation under control and kept it from throttling me, Linda giggling all the while.
Much to my surprise, they came out quite good. We sprinkled parsley on the top for a little something extra and dug in.
~~~

Once she was all settled in bed, I sat atop my own, playing the song Ringo had sung on the new double album, Goodnight. I sang it softly, hoping to help Linda sleep better. She'd been having frequent nightmares, and I was worried about her lack of sleep.

~~~
I glanced at the Clock on the Wall in front of me. It read 1:27. She might be alright tonight. I told myself. but I'll check on her. I peeked in and saw her sleeping soundly, much to my relief. I crept back to my room, trying to step over the especially creaky boards and slipping under the blankets. I laid there for a while, waiting for a sleepy feeling, with no such luck.
All of a sudden, I heard a familiar whimper from the other room. I whipped the covers off and ran down the hall as she started screaming.
I knelt beside her and softly shook her shoulder as she screamed louder, her cries full of pain and terror. "NO!! GET AWAY!! HELP!!!" Finally she woke up, but consciousness didn't rid her of her pain. I held her close. "It was so real..." she whispered, her voice catching in her throat.
"Shhhh, It's okay....you're okay now...it's alright..." I whispered back. "It's okay..." I rubbed her back as her breath gradually slowed to a normal pace. "Try to get some rest, alright?" I pulled back and looked her in the eye. She nodded and laid back down, closing her eyes and pulling up the blanket, drifting off once more.
