"Matashree, Papa, Poppy! I failed you all right!" Ruhi wailed, her voice echoing through the silence. "I couldn't be the daughter you guys deserved, the daughter you wanted me to be."
She clutched the portrait of Aarohi, Neil, and Abhimanyu tightly to her chest, as if seeking comfort from the loved ones she felt she had let down. Tears streamed down her face, soaking into the fabric of her clothes.
"I'm so sorry, Matashree," Ruhi sobbed, her eyes fixed on Aarohi's gentle smile. "I'm so sorry for disappointing you, for not being the strong, confident daughter you always wanted me to be."
Ruhi's gaze shifted to Neil's kind face, and she felt a fresh wave of grief wash over her. "Papa, I'm so sorry for not being able to make you proud," she whispered. "I'm sorry for not being the daughter you deserved."
Finally, Ruhi's eyes met Abhimanyu's warm gaze, and she felt her heart shatter into a million pieces. "Poppy, I'm so sorry for not being able to be the Rooh you always believed in," she wailed. "I'm sorry for not being strong enough, for not being brave enough."
As Ruhi cried, she felt the weight of her failures crushing her. She knew she couldn't turn back time, but she hoped that somehow, someway, she could make amends for her mistakes and prove herself worthy of her family's love and pride.
"I couldn't be the human being you wanted me to become, Matashree," Ruhi whispered, her voice cracking with remorse. "I'm so sorry... I'm so, so sorry."
She paused, taking a shaky breath as the weight of her regret threatened to consume her. Her eyes welled up with tears as she thought about all the mistakes she had made, all the pain she had caused.
"In my insecurities, I hurt every single person who loved me," Ruhi confessed, her words barely audible. "I pushed them away, Matashree... I pushed away the people who cared for me the most."
Tears streamed down Ruhi's face as she confronted the pain she had caused. She felt like she was staring into the abyss, the darkness of her own flaws and mistakes staring back at her.
"I was so blind, Matashree," Ruhi sobbed. "I was so caught up in my own fears and doubts that I didn't even realize the harm I was causing. I didn't realize that I was hurting the people who loved me the most."
Ruhi's body shook with sobs as she thought about all the what-ifs. What if she had been stronger? What if she had been wiser? What if she had been more loving?
"I'm so sorry, Matashree," Ruhi whispered again, her voice hoarse from crying. "I'm so sorry for failing you, for failing myself. I'm so sorry for hurting the people I love."
"Matashree, my Billa boy, my Abhir is back," Ruhi whispered, her voice trembling with emotion. "And Tommorow is Raksha Bandhan... but I couldn't tie him a rakhi yet again. Just because of my stupidities, I always hurt him, Matashree."
Ruhi's eyes welled up with tears as she thought about all the times she had let Abhir down. She remembered the promises she had broken, the trust she had shattered, and the pain she had caused him.
"Why do I always do this, Matashree?" Ruhi wailed, her body shaking with sobs. "Why do I always hurt the people I love the most? Abhir trusted me, he loved me, and I repaid him by hurting him over and over again."
Ruhi's mind was flooded with memories of her past mistakes. She remembered the fights, the tears, and the broken promises. She remembered the way Abhir had looked at her, with a mix of sadness and disappointment.
"I don't deserve him, Matashree," Ruhi whispered, her voice barely audible. "I don't deserve his love, his trust, or his forgiveness. But I want to make it right, Matashree. I want to prove to him that I'm worthy of his love."
As Ruhi cried, she felt a deep sense of regret and longing. She longed to turn back time, to erase her mistakes, and to start anew. She longed to prove to Abhir that she was capable of change, that she was capable of loving him without hurting him.
"Abhira, what was her fault in all those things that happened 23 years ago?" Ruhi's voice was laced with regret and self-awareness. "I just kept on blaming her for each and every thing... I was so blind, so consumed by my own pain and anger."
Ruhi's eyes dropped, shame and guilt washing over her. "I never stopped to think about her perspective, about her pain and struggles. I just assumed she was the villain, that she was the one who had wronged me."
A deep sigh escaped Ruhi's lips. "But the truth is, Abhira was just as hurt and lost as I was. She was just trying to survive, to make sense of the chaos around her. And I punished her for it, I blamed her for everything."
Ruhi's voice cracked as she spoke, the weight of her past mistakes crushing her. "I'm so sorry, Abhira. I'm so sorry for not being able to see the truth, for not being able to forgive you sooner."
Just then, her toddler Daksh started crying, his tiny voice piercing through the silence. Ruhi's eyes snapped towards him, and she quickly got up to comfort him.
"Mamma's here, beta," Ruhi cooed, scooping Daksh up in her arms. "What's wrong, my little one?"
As she rocked Daksh back and forth, Ruhi's thoughts were still reeling from her earlier revelations. She couldn't believe how blind she had been, how quick she was to judge Abhira without knowing the full story.
Daksh's cries slowly subsided as Ruhi sang a soft lullaby, her voice trembling with emotion. As she looked down at her child, Ruhi knew she had to make things right. She had to find a way to forgive Abhira, and to make amends for her past mistakes.
For Daksh's sake, and for her own, Ruhi knew she had to let go of the past and start anew. The question was, where did she even begin?
Daksh looked up at Ruhi with big, round eyes, his tiny face scrunched up in concern. Ruhi's heart melted at the sight, and she felt a fresh wave of guilt wash over her.
"I hurted you too, right Daksh?" Ruhi whispered, her voice barely audible. "I wasn't there for you when you needed me, I wasn't the mother I should have been."
Daksh's face crumpled, and he started to cry again. Ruhi pulled him close, holding him tightly as she rocked him back and forth.
"I'm so sorry, beta," Ruhi whispered, her tears mingling with Daksh's. "I'm so sorry for not being a better mother to you. But I promise you, Daksh, I'll do better. I'll be a better mother, a better person. I'll make it up to you, I swear."
As Daksh finally slept, Ruhi gently laid him in his cradle, her eyes never leaving his peaceful face. She sat down beside him, her mind drifting back to her thoughts.
"Bhagwaanji, bass ek mauka dedo mujhe sab theek karne ke liye," Ruhi whispered, her voice filled with desperation and longing. "Give me just one chance to make everything right."
Ruhi's eyes closed, and she took a deep breath, letting the weight of her emotions settle upon her. She knew it wouldn't be easy, that the path ahead would be fraught with challenges and uncertainties.
But Ruhi was determined. She was determined to make amends, to heal the wounds of the past, and to build a better future for herself and those she loved.
As she sat there, surrounded by the silence of the night, Ruhi felt a glimmer of hope. Maybe, just maybe, she could find redemption. Maybe she could find forgiveness, and start anew.
Ruhi's phone buzzed with a notification, and as she opened it, her eyes widened with a warm smile. Abhir had posted a picture with Ishika on Instagram, and the caption "ROCKSTAR_ABHIR: I_Raichand, the love of my life the woman who brightens my darkest nights" melted her heart. She felt an overwhelming sense of joy seeing her brother so deeply in love.
As she gazed at the picture, Ruhi's eyes drifted to the location tag - Kashmir. The mention of the place evoked a flurry of memories, memories of their childhood summers spent laughing and playing together. Memories of their family vacations, of their parents' smiling faces, of the carefree days that seemed to stretch on forever.
But this time, the memories didn't bring a pang of sadness. Instead, Ruhi felt grateful to see Abhir happy, his heart full of love for Ishika. She felt grateful that he had found someone who made him feel seen and heard, someone who loved him for who he was.
Ruhi's heart swelled with love and pride for her brother. She was happy that he had found his soulmate, happy that he was living his best life. And as she looked at the picture again, she knew that she would always be there for him, to support him, to love him, no matter what.
As Ruhi gazed at the picture, her heart whispered a gentle question - was this a chance to make redemptions, to ask for apologies? Was this an opportunity to heal old wounds and start anew?
Ruhi's mind began to whirl with thoughts of the past, of the mistakes she had made, of the hurt she had caused. She thought of Abhir, of the pain she had inflicted upon him, and her heart ached with regret.
But as she looked at the picture again, Ruhi felt a spark of hope. Maybe, just maybe, this was her chance to make things right. Maybe this was her chance to apologize, to seek forgiveness, and to start anew.
With a newfound sense of determination, Ruhi knew what she had to do. She needed to visit Abhir and Ishika in Kashmir, to talk to them, to apologize, and to make amends. It wouldn't be easy, but Ruhi was ready to face the challenge head-on.
Taking a deep breath, Ruhi made a decision. She would book a ticket to Kashmir, and she would go there to make things right. It was time to heal old wounds, to seek forgiveness, and to start anew.
