11.
Aria and Fred were sneaking around the castle to have some quality time alone as a couple.
It was hard.
Umbridge had been clear about what the distance should be between two students in love and also they couldn't show the whole school their relationship. George was the only one who knew about it.
Also, both had classes to attend and in their free time Fred was training for the quidditch games and Aria was studying. When they were together they weren't usually alone, since they spent time in the room of requirement with the other students.
That's why Fred always used secret passages to see Aria and sneak around Hogwarts.
Now they were in the astronomy tower, eating some sweets and talking as Aria laid in his arms.
"You can come to New York this summer, without school we will spend more time together" Said Aria opening a chocolate frog.
"Sounds great to me. I can't wait to meet your family, but I have to admit that I hope your dad likes me"
She giggled.
"You don't have to worry. My dad is protective but he's really sweet, plus you make me so happy, so he will adore you"
He kissed the top of her head.
"I want to be worth. But tell me more about your family"
"Let's say that my family is unconventional, you already know that my dad is a werewolf and my mom a wizard, they work for an art museum. My uncles are both wizards and the oldest of them is the principal of a wizarding school in America. He is married to a vampire and I have two oldest cousins, both vampires. That's it"
Fred blinked.
"Wow, I really got the most unique wizard in the world, and for that reason, I have something for you" Said smiling as Aria looked at him, confused.
"What?"
Fred took outside of his pocket a glass disk and handed it to her.
She looked at it and saw a little snowflake in there.
"Do you remember our first kiss? It was snowing. After the kiss I decided to conserve a snowflake to remember that moment, so I used a spell and now you have a snowflake that will never melt. Every time you look at it, you can think about us"
She was mouth opened.
"It's the best gift you could ever give me, thanks" Said kissing him.
Fred smiled proudly, holding her closer.
After hours of chatting and cuddling, it was time for them to go to their common rooms.
Aria and Fred walked separately to their own common rooms but when Aria entered the Slytherin's one, all the students looked furious or disappointed at her.
Draco was standing in front of everyone with his arms crossed.
"You've been spending a lot of time with those Gryffindors lately, Aria. Are you sure you remember which house you truly belong to?"
"What are you talking about? I can have friends from different houses too" Roared Aria in her defense.
Draco furrowed his eyebrows.
"Aria, have you forgotten who your true friends are - asked with an arrogant smirk - Or is your loyalty shifting to those lowly Gryffindors?"
"Don't call them like that, you are just envy of their capabilities. Are you really that weak to belittle others to shine?"
Her housemates gasped in shook at their fight as Aria smirked provoking Draco.
"I can't believe you would defend those blood traitors. You've clearly forgotten your priorities as a true member of Slytherin"
"My priorities always were the ones from our house founder: ambition, resourcefulness, determination, and cleverness" Said Aria standing firm and proud, not letting Draco embarrass her.
"You can't deny your true nature, Aria. A member of Slytherin always sticks with their own kind"
"Or?" Asked her raising an eyebrow as he leaned closer to her face.
"Or you can face the consequences and be outcast by your own house. I suggest you make the right choice, Aria" She scoffed.
"You can't outcast me"
"You think you're invincible, Aria? You're just as much of a pawn as the rest of us. Don't let those Gryffindors cloud your judgement"
"You were always terrible at chess, Draco. Right now I can be a little pawn, but one day I'll be a queen. You shouldn't underestimate me" Said sharply to Draco, driving him mad, he hated her fastidious tone and couldn't let her embarrass him.
"You think you can outsmart me, Aria? - he chuckled - You're just another arrogant little snake who will eventually fall at my feet"
"I'd rather die than be submitted by you, Umbridge or anyone from the dark side"
"You'll see. One day, you'll realize that true power lies with the Dark Lord. And I'll be there to welcome you with open arms"
"If Dark Lord's fellas are incapable like you, I wouldn't worry too much"
Draco glared at her.
"Until then, you are not welcomed here in the Slytherin common room. You are not one of us anymore. We reject you"
Aria blinked in surprise as the other Slytherins nodded.
"And where I'm supposed to stay?"
Draco sneered, his cold sneer starting to melt under Aria's scorching glare.
"You were always naive for thinking you could fit in with the Slytherins. Now it's not our problem where you will stay"
"I'm more Slytherin than you could ever be"
"Funny, I don't see any loyalty to your precious house from where I'm standing"
She simply sighed and took her bag.
"Fine, I won't enter your common room anymore, but you will beg for me to come back"
"You seem to have forgotten who holds the power here, Aria. We'll see who begs for who once the Dark Lord takes over"
Aria started to wander around Hogwarts until she reached the Gryffindor common room, hoping they will let her stay with them.
She knocked on the door and entered, explaining to all of them what happened.
"You can stay with us, Aria. No one messes with our friends - George winked and patted her on the back - Even if they are from a different house"
Aria smiled at George as he called her their friends. She was able to fit with them so perfectly over these months.
"So, you're staying with us now? Not going back to the Slytherin common room?" Fred's voice was filled with concern and hope.
"Yeah, they rejected me so I can't go back" Said Aria looking for his eyes.
Hermione wasn't too happy to have her there, but over the months Aria demonstrated to not be as bad as Slytherins were pictured and admired her talk back to Draco, knowing that she risked everything for those Gryffindors.
"I must admit, I didn't think a Slytherin could ever change. But you, Aria, have proven me wrong - she smiled warmly and extended her hand for a handshake - Welcome to the Gryffindor common room"
Aria blinked surprised but then shook her hand with a smile.
"So we will share the bedroom together now?" Asked Aria as Hermione wasn't too happy about that sudden friendship.
"Sharing the bedroom was not my first choice, but I hope we can coexist peacefully" She smiled politely in reply.
Fred frowned. Now that Aria was going to stay with the Gryffindor, he hoped they could spend more time together and that she could spend nights in his bedroom, not with the girls. After all they were now girlfriend and boyfriend.
"So, Aria, now that you're officially a Gryffindor, does that mean you'll be spending more time with me? - Fred smirked mischievously - I wouldn't mind sharing my bed with you, if you know what I mean"
Aria rolled her eyes and blushed as the others Gryffindors heard.
"Fred!"
"Sorry, sorry, couldn't resist. But seriously, I'm glad you're here. We could use more fun in Gryffindor"
Harry looked at them as Ginny raised an eyebrow.
"Since when you two started dating?" Asked the red haired girl with a smirk as Fred took Aria's hand, surprising all the Gryffindors.
"For months, after the winter break, actually. I couldn't resist a smart and beautiful girl like Aria, especially one who can talk back to Malfoy"
Aria smiled lovingly at him, feeling grateful to have Fred in her life.
All the students cheered for the new couple and decided to have a party to celebrate.
George and Fred were talking in a corner of the room, looking at Aria having fun with the girls.
"Aria is one of a kind. I'm telling you, George... I will always protect her. I wouldn't want to lose her, especially with someone like Malfoy or someone from the Dark side lurking around"
After the party, Aria found herself in Fred's bed, between his arms, as he embraced her and gave her kisses on the head.
"I never want to let you go. I feel like I've been waiting for you my whole life"
She looked into his eyes.
"You really like me?"
Fred was surprised by her question.
"Of course I like you, Aria. I more than like you, I love you"
She blushed and hid her face in his chest, embarrassed.
"I love you too" Whispered back.
"Promise me you'll never let Malfoy get to you or come between us. You mean the world to me"
"Are you really scared of that?" Asked her caressing his cheek.
He leaned in at her touch and kissed her hand.
"I trust you, but I don't trust Malfoy... What if he really hurts you"
Aria kissed him.
"Freddie, It's okay, I won't let him come near me or us. Now I better go to Hermione's room and sleep"
Fred frowned, wanting Aria to stay in bed with him.
"I don't want you to go. Stay with me tonight, please? - He pleaded, holding onto her hand tightly - I need you here with me"
She smiled and held him closer.
"Alright, let's sleep together"
Aria gently placed a kiss on his lips.
The Whispering Quill
The school year has come to an end. I would say that it was very turbulent and full of twists and turns, but like all stories, it's right that there is a positive ending.
My writing career here is over, you will never know who I am, but I will take with me all of your secrets.
Dear readers, your story certainly doesn't end here, out there in the world there is a new adventure waiting for you against the dark side of magic, and maybe you too will find your happy ending, but be careful of the bad things that are going to happen.
The path to happiness may seem long and jagged, but not impossible.
Lady Vespera
"Can you believe it? Umbridge is finally gone, Dumbledore is back, another school year ended and for the whole time we never found out who Lady Vespera was" Said Ginny as they went out the Hogwarts express to start their summer.
"It's a shame she stopped her writing career, her articles were so good"
"I guess some things are made to not be discovered, or lose their mysterious aura" Said Aria winking, showing her hands dirty in ink.
Fred's eyes widened.
"It was you... You were the mysterious author!" Said the red haired boy.
"Probably, probably not, try to find out, Weasley" Said Aria running away as Fred followed her with a smile to catch her and tickle her.
"They are really made for each other" Said Hermione smirking.
"They are. I wonder what will happen now..." Replied George thinking about how the wizardry world was changing since Voldemort was slowly coming back.
"We'll see"
