Lisa silently creeped up the shed as the sound of wailing was heard. As she came closer, the wailing soon became faint and inaudible. "What?" Lisa mumbled and went closer. The faint sound soon dispersed and turn into soft whispers that were drastically loud when she leaned her ear onto the door.
The sound of heavy breathing scared her.
"Lisa?"
Like in horror movies, it sounded like a little girl's voice. It spooked the life out of Lisa. Lisa gulped and went forward. She slowly gripped onto the golden knob, twisting it as it slowly opens and creeks.
Her eyes went saucers as she saw a lifeless dead body in the shed. What's creepy about it? No blood nor anything, it was letting out weird breathing sounds that were very unstable. Lisa licked her dry, chapped lips before getting the courage to look at the persons face. "I-Irene?" Lisa stuttered and stumbled backwards.
Irene's unstable breathing stopped, her irises turned pearl white as blood slowly came out of her nose.
"One down, Eight more to go,"
It whispered once more before chuckling lowly. Lisa took a few steps back before running away, crying. She was afraid of the scene she just witnessed.
Meanwhile, Ella walked down the hallway, she was still not able to find a good hiding spot. A feeling of restlessness ran through her as she heard those whispers. One down eight more to go? What did that mean. Several questions ran through her head but she couldn't process everything all at once.
Ella decided to stay in the closet - storage closet to be exact. It was a closet that could be occupied by one person and Ella was glad could fit in it just right. The closet was filled with towels and such but Ella could care less about that.
She sighed as she felt her heartbeat. It was beating abnormally fast due to fright and the goosebumps that had been running up her spine lately.
"You're gonna be all right. It's just a game, no one is gonna get hur-" Ella's sentence was cut off when the whisper strikes again.
"It's just starting~ Good luck."
Ella shivered at the whisper. It was hard to identify wether the whisper belonged to a man or a woman. Maybe even a child.
"Who's the one whispering," Ella whined and slightly opened the door. Footsteps, there were light footsteps coming closer. She peaked and saw a black cloaked figure, "What?" She mumbled quite audible enough as the figure turned around. Ella moved, making sure she wasn't seen.
Despite the quick movement, she still caught a quick glimpse of the figures front features. It's face was covered by a mask, a black mask while the cloak was covering it's hair. The only feature that was really visible was it's eyes. It's irises were transparent, kind of like a pearl white color.
It looked dead. Very dead.
Ella bit her bottom lip as the footsteps slowly dispersed as a new set of light footsteps were heard. This time, Ella had a good feeling about the footsteps so she opened the door more widely and saw Lisa. Ella smiled and pulled Lisa inside the closet with her.
"Ella!" Lisa called, surprised to see that her friend was still alive. Well, after what she saw, she hoped that her friends weren't in the same situation.
"Did you hear those creepy whispering?" Lisa asked Ella and Ella nodded in return. Lisa sighed, "I thought it was only me."
"Yeah, I thought I was hallucinating!" Ella exclaimed as Lisa placed a finger on her lips. "Shh! Be quiet. Someone might hear us!"
"Not creepy at all," Luciel mumbled and jumped off the tree at the backyard. He had been hiding there since the game started and minutes passed, still no sign of the seeker aka Lisa. He had been getting those weird and creepy whispers like the rest yet he chose to ignore it.
Luciel walked back to the house, stumbling across the pool area. Luciel furrowed his brows as he saw red liquid flowing out from the shed. Luciel scrunched his nose at the reeking odor of something bad. He took a closer look of the blood, there were footprints. Who's footprints to be exact?
Luciel's eyes diverted from the blood onto the shed. He took slower steps as he opens the shed and shock overwhelms his body as he saw a dead body laying in the shed floor. However, it wasn't just someone's body, it was his friend's body, Irene. Her eyes were pearl white, and her body was white and cold. Blood was still oozing out from her nose. The whole sight was horrible.
"How did this happen?!" Luciel exclaimed and shook his head. He gulped before running into the house. "I need to find the others quick. That whisper wasn't lying."
"Two down, Seven more to go~"
The whisperer sang devilishly as all of young teens heart began beating uncontrollably fast due to shock. It was that whisper again.
Jun paced around the second floor of the house, he was in a room, with a dead Minghao. He witnessed the scene, his dearest best friend suffocating in front of him.
"This is ridiculous!" Jun cried and walked around in circles. "I'm sorry, But I need to leave you before anyone else gets hurt. I'll always remember you, Minghao," Jun stated, looking at the lifeless boy in his arms. He gently placed down his friend and surrounded him with torn pieces of his book, his and Minghao's favorite book.
Jun said one last goodbye before running out the room. A flash occurred, loud thunder, and the hard downpour of the rain was present. What could go worst? The electricity went out. Aren't they just really lucky?
"11:42," Jinhee mumbled as she walked down the stairs quickly. She had enough of the games.
Jinhee walked around the living room as she bumped into someone, it was Hailey!
"Ah! You almost scared me," Hailey pouted and hits Jinhee on her arm. "Please be quiet. I think that whispering thing is hunting for another one to kill," Jinhee told her and Hailey nodded. "I saw how it killed Irene! You must not look into it's eyes, or else... you'll suffocate and die!" Hailey said.
"Where is my brother when you need him?" Jinhee irritatingly dials his brothers number but there wasn't any signal nor any electricity. Hailey used her phone as their source of light, everything was off. The sound of the heavy downpour didn't really make it any easier.
"Wait! I hear footsteps! Someone is coming!" Hailey said and pulled Jinhee to the corner where they were covered by the couch. They glanced time to time to see who was it. Gladly, it was Jun.
They stood up as Jinhee pulled Jun close to them. "What are you doing? Why are you wandering so freely? It's so dar-"
"Better watch out and hide, I'm right here!"
The whisper playfully said. "Jinhee, Jun! Close your eyes! Don't look behind you!" Hailey said and closed her eyes. Jinhee did the same but Jun didn't understand. "What do you mean close your eyes?!" Jun furrowed his brows. "Just do it!" Hailey demanded. Jun was about to speak when he was cut off by a light tap on his left shoulder. He looked back and his eyes widened, he tried to look away but he couldn't.
It's bright pearl irises looked deeply into his eyes, literally possessing him. He slowly felt light headed as his surroundings began to blur. His head was hurting and he felt hard enough to breathe.
He was suffocating, just like what Hailey said.
"Goodbye, Jun. Have good sleep and never wake up."
The whisperer said before it disappeared out of nowhere. Hailey and Jinhee opened their eyes to see Jun on the floor, dead. He looked cold, his eyes were pale. He was whispering inaudible words that soon stopped as they heard another whisper from the mystery creature.
"Three down, Six more to go."
