Y/N POV

The incident with that Deborah girl had provided me with enough insight into the true potential that this C-Virus held. Now I could understand why it was important to prevent an outbreak of it. The result would possibly been worse than if Uroboros had gotten out.

Speaking of Uroboros, my eyes shifted to the old vial which I had recovered from Alex's lab years ago. If I was right, this would be the last Uroboros sample in the world, that's why I kept it on my person at all times, so it wouldn't fall into the wrong hands, so far, I'd not encountered a situation where I would need it.

After leaving Leon and Helena behind, me and Ada decided to take Simmons advice, our communicators pointed us in the direction of the lab. We headed through a dark tunnel which lead us to a lift.

Stepping into it, we found that there were only two buttons, one for up and one for down, pushing the up button, the doors closed as the lift instantly started to move. It was at this point that Ada asked "So, what secrets do you think Simmons had hidden."

I responded "Hopefully, he's straight forward and offers a straight forward answer." Ada laughed before commenting "Trust me Y/N, I know Simmons, NOTHING he says is straight forward. You've always got to keep one eye on things when dealing with him." To this I just added a simple "I see."

Eventually, the lift came to a stop and the door opened in front of us. We walked down a tiny corridor which instantly came to yet another door, opening that, we found another large open room, separated into chunks by several sets of iron bars.

Some of these sets had small crawl spaces, Ada pointed and said "Through here." She crawled through first as I followed shortly after. As soon as we were through the first crawl space though, we heard a growl behind us.

Turning around, we came across a zombie, though unlike the previous ones we had encountered before, this one was much more bloated. Despite its large size, it ran at us surprisingly fast, even as I shot at it, the bullets didn't seem to do all that much damage.

I continued to shoot at it to no avail, if it got close, I'd probably be able to defeat it manually. Before I could get that chance though, Ada raised her crossbow and warned me "Get down!" She fired a bolt from it which embedded itself in the B.O.W's neck.

A red light on the tip of the bolt blipped for a while, accompanied by a high-pitched beeping sound before it exploded! The explosion was enough to kill the large zombie as it collapsed to the ground, making a thud upon impact, before disintegrating.

 We continued squeezing our way under the different barred walls and were once again met with another of those large B.O.Ws. Upon seeing us, it let out a growl and charged at us. This time, I was given an opportunity to shine.

I dashed forward, landing a palm-thrust that caused ripples to travel outward from its belly, I then followed with a knee that landed the creature on its back. Finally I smashed its head, taking it out for good. 

With them both out of the way, we got passed the iron bar obstructions and finally came to the entrance to what appeared to be a sewerage tunnel. Ada glanced at her device and stated "We're getting close. This way."

We made our way down the tunnel and sure enough, it led us out just under a metal walkway, using our Hookshots as well, allowed us to land on said walkway and here we were, at some kind of facility that I assumed was Simmons' laboratory.

It was here that we found more bodies, trapped like cocoons similar to what happened to Deborah a matter of minutes ago. And just as we were about to go through the door, it locked and we heard a voice saying over the intercoms "ABERRATION DETECTED! ALL LABORATORIES WILL REMAIN LOCKED UNTIL SAFETY HAS BEEN VERTIFIED!"

As soon as those words were spoken, the cocoon behind us hatched open, revealing a large bulky figure protected by a solid outer-shell. Just as you'd expect from a rogue B.O.W by now, as soon as it saw us, the creature let out a roar and attacked.

It was obvious a handgun wouldn't be enough to damage the protective shell this creature sported, so I instantly drew my Killer7 magnum and instructed Ada "You go see if you can find the main lab! I'll handle this guy!"

She didn't argue, instead she just gave a nod and instantly ran out of the room, with that, I turned back to the B.O.W in front of me and opened fire. Just as I'd thought, at first the shell was able to withstand my magnum round, however after a moment, one round was able to break away a piece of shell, revealing a red fleshy substance.

That served as the perfect weak point and I chose to aim my next few shots there. It didn't take long for the creature to fall after that, I encountered another shortly after however with the knowledge on how to take it down easily, I chipped away at it until the shell broke away and after that it was easy pickings.

On my way to catch up with Ada, I found traces that there had been more, with a few empty cocoons littered around. Eventually I did find Ada stood in front of a TV, holding something that she was analysing thoroughly. As I approached I asked "Found anything interesting?"

Ada replied by showing me what she was holding, an old VHS tape. This alone was strange by when I saw what was written on the label, my eyes narrowed for a moment. Written on it was a single sentence.

"Happy Birthday Ada Wong."

I turned to Ada and said "Well? Let's see what's on it." In this same small lab, there was also a VHS player hooked up to a screen. We put the tape in the player and switched the screen on. Instantly, it showed an image.

It started out with one of those cocoons, the same as what we had seen earlier. This in itself was nothing special. However soon something started to emerge, at first it was too covered in slime to make anything out, however whatever had just hatched fell onto the floor with a splash of green fluid before we finally got a look at it.

When I finally saw what had just hatched, my eyes widened in pure shock. I appeared that a WOMAN had hatched from the cocoon, looking surprisingly normal if you ignored the green goo she was covered with. However what made this woman surprising was that she was an identical clone to ADA! 

Ada herself seemed surprisingly calm about this as she stated "Hmph, looks just like me, no wonder Leon was confused." She turned to me and said "Looks like we've discovered your contact Y/N." 

It all added up, the woman in this video, who appeared to be a clone of Ada, birthed from the C-Virus, must have been the one to contact me and instruct me to the submarine. The question now, is why?

Ada's communicator went off just as the video ended. Upon picking it up, we saw Simmons' face smirking at us as he cryptically asked "Enjoy the show?" Ada replied calmly as she said "Yes, it was quite, revealing."

Simmons raised an eyebrow and asked "How do you mean?" It was at this point Ada finally spelled my thought process out. "Well correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't it YOU on this tape? 'Ada' you're the one behind Neo-Umbrella."

Simmons seemed to get defensive for a moment as he retorted "I don't know what you're talking about." Ada kept explaining "Simmons would never be foolish enough to show his cards. He and his family want one thing, to stabilize and sustain the system they've created. But you, you want to destroy it."

The final words 'Simmons' spoke before hanging up seemed rather cryptic and I had a hunch there was still more to this that we still didn't know. "And the world will blame you two..."

With that, Simmons instantly hung up. Of course, I had figured out by now that it hadn't actually been Simmons speaking to us. But rather this Ada doppelganger, she must have found a way to impersonate Simmons bring in Ada while using her true self to drag me in.

Ada put her communicator away and approached the table near the VHS player. She pulled out a detonator and stated "If she wants a game, she'll get one. With the REAL Ada Wong." She set the detonator on a timer and turned around, she pulled out the communicator again however before I could listen to her conversation, mine went off as well.

Pulling it out, I was once again met with who I now recognized as the doppelganger. She just grinned at me through the small screen as she asked "So, the cats out of the bag now isn't it? I've laid my bet on the table, now it's time to see yours."

I simply asked in an angry tone "Why? What is your game?" 'Ada' took a moment, just staring at me before she finally explained "As I told you before, the next attack will be in China. Come and meet me face to face and I will tell you what you want to know. But come ALONE. Farewell."

And just as she did before, she abruptly hung up. Ada turned to me and said "I've just tipped the real Simmons about his little creation's plan. Let's go. This isn't over yet." We both headed out of the room, Ada stated "Looks like the race is on. Let's see who comes in first."

'Ada' POV

I sat back in my chair once again, the communicator still in my hand. I couldn't fight the smirk that was creeping up my face. Y/N Wesker, younger brother of Albert Wesker. The mere fact that he had out-lived his brother spoke volumes about him.

He knew how to utilise his gift and perhaps, if I played my cards right, he could serve as more than just a scapegoat to me...

Author's Note: And that's it for this chapter, I might not upload a chapter tomorrow because I might try upload the summaries for my next Resident Evil story and maybe my Tekken story if I can. Though on Saturday, I will try and get back to updating as usual. The next part of the segment will be where things REALLY begin to pick up.
