Rose's Point of View

I got up from my bed and changed into a dark green long sleeved shirt that had a hood on it, and some dark brown pants. I put on my dark brown converse as well. I put these clothes on in the hopes that when I escaped the clothes would help me blend into the forest better in case someone came looking for me and were able to see through my ability to blend into my surroundings. The plan is to get as far away as possible so that when someone finds out I'm missing, which will inevitably happen, I will be too far away for them to get to me before I reach Alexander's territory. I looked out my window to see a guard posted under it. No doubt there will be guards posted all around the house and the property.

I need to figure out the schedule for when its time for each guard to be switched out. I especially need to figure out the rotation times for the guard under my window and the one posted in front of the forest directly across from my window. That way I can successfully escape without being caught. I really don't want to be caught just as I'm about to escape and be the cause of a huge war that costs the lives of many. I couldn't live with myself if that happens.

After about an hour and a half I figured out the guard under my window and the guard posted in front of the forest are switched out. It took about 10 minutes for both of the guards to be switched out. That's just enough time for me to escape into the forest undetected. Or at least I hope that's the case. Several things could go wrong when I'm trying to escape, but I'm not going to think about that. I need to focus solely on escaping at the moment. I'm going to wait another hour and a half for the guards to rotate to make my escape. 

An Hour and a Half Later

Its finally time for the guards to change. I went to the window and put my hood over my head. I then used my ability to blend into my surroundings and opened the window when the guards were far enough away. I climbed out my window and jumped silently down to the ground. I landed on all fours and quickly got up and sprinted into the forest. I was positive no one heard or saw me run into the forest but I continued to run as fast as I could just in case someone noticed me trying to escape.

I ran for several hours before I slowed to a fast walk when I felt myself getting close to Alexander's territory. I didn't dare stop using my ability to blend into my environment in case someone was actually able to follow me all this way. That though alone was enough to get me to start running again. I ran for a little while longer until I finally made it to Alexander's territory. I soon stopped because the wolves were no doubt aware of my intrusion into their territory by now.

I made myself visible so that they would be able to find me easier. I didn't have to wait long before they eventually found me. The wolves came into view with Alex's large, black wolf that clearly indicated his dominance over the rest of the wolves, in the lead. I looked away as he shifted into his human form and put some shorts on. He ran to me and picked me up in a crushing bear hug.

"Alex put me down please. You're crushing all the air out of my lungs." I said to him.

"Sorry Rose. I'm just so happy to see you. I thought you'd never come. I was actually about to send an army of wolves to get you." He told me as he set me on the ground.

"I was so worried about you. Please don't ever leave me again. I really don't want to have to send an army to come get you every time you escape. I know how much it would hurt you if any of your people got hurt or killed, and seeing you sad and upset hurts me and makes me sad and upset too. I don't want to ever see you like that so please promise me you'll never escape again." He said to me.

"Ok I promise, but what are we going to do when my dad wants to get me back Alex? He will send and army to get me back that much is true." I said.

"He wants nothing to do with you. When I told him you were my mate he freaked out and started yelling saying that you would never be my mate and that he wouldn't allow you to have anything to do with me much less be a part of our family. He also called you a mutt Alex." I told him.

He put my hands in his and said; "We will deal with whatever he sends our way when the time comes ok Rose."

I agreed. He took my hand and we walked back to the pack house together. Once we got there he took me up to his room. He sat us on the bed.

"Hey Rose are you hungry or thirsty? I could make you something to eat and get you something to drink if you want."

"I would love that. I am a bit hungry and thirsty from running all the way here." I told him.

"Alright. I'll be right back with a sandwich and a glass of water for you. Please don't go any where ok."

He left the room and shut the door quietly behind him. I spent a few minutes looking at the familiar objects in his room before going to freshen up. I took one of his shirts from his closet and found a pair of shorts my size and put them on. I then went to the bathroom and washed my face and cleaned off the little bit of dirt that was on my hands from jumping out my window and landing on my hands and feet.

Alex came back a few minutes later with my sandwich and water. We sat in silence as I ate. Alex was the first to break the silence.

"So Rose would you like to meet my beta and third in command?" He asked me.

"Sure. I guess I could meet them."

He gave me a big grin and grabbed my hand and took me to meet them.
