The Werewolf in the Woods...17

Chapter 17

Third-Person POV

     It's been two weeks.

     Two weeks since they had gone back to the woods. Dominic has been dying to try again, but after Brian caught them coming back, he was pissed that Dominic didn't have a plan before he just up and left.

     Brad got scratched up pretty bad by one of them. He had a long scar on his face, and he was not happy about that. "They fucked up my face. This is bullshit. We're going back, and I'm killing that asshole."

       Amaris snickered. "You look more attractive with a battle scar. Ladies dig that." He wasn't surprised when something came at him.

     Kenney and Loren also had altercations with other wolves. "It wasn't something we couldn't handle."

     "Does that mean you'll take us next time?" Ady looked at them with her hands on her hips. "Seriously. We can help."

     Loren looked guilty. "Of course. Sorry..." he smiled sheepishly.

     "They ran off pretty quickly," Kenney started.

     "I recognized one of them." Dominic frowned. "I think he was the one who bit Marissa." He cracked his knuckles. "I may just have to disobey Brian again. That fucker has to go."

     "How long have you and Marissa been dating?"

     This is how they get his mind off of going back to the Viscosoes so soon. They start asking him about her, and he sure as hell gets all happy and talks about her.

     Dominic ran a hand through his hair and opened his mouth to answer. Then he frowned. "Wait a minute. Are you guys asking me about Marissa just so I could get my mind off of the Viscosoes?"

     Everyone started laughing. "It was working for a while."

     "Well, of course it was. I love talking about her." He chuckled. "We've been together all through high school. So four years."

     "Well, damn."

     "Hold up. Weren't you guys in school?" Kenney looked at Ady and Loren. "Did y'all just ditch or drop out?"

     Ady and Loren looked at each other. "Even though it was our last year, we decided to get home schooled. I couldn't handle the death of my little brother, and I didn't want to be in a secluded area. Besides, every time I stepped foot in the school, I felt crowded." She held Loren's hand. "Loren only got into the school to get me." She smiled. Everyone awed.

     "What ever happened to Paige and Chris?" Mel asked. "And Darren and R.Jay?"

     Ady gasped. "Let me tell you. Chris disappeared. I haven't heard from him in months, seriously."

     Loren snickered. "Good."

     Ady hit him on the shoulder. "Paige moved out of town with her mom right after Christmas break, unfortunately." She sighed. "Darren and R.Jay graduated early and go to Princeton. I was so happy for them! So everyone is happy and moving on with life."

     On the other hand, Aaron was fucking stuck.

     In those two weeks since he was attacked by that female, all his saw were hazel brown eyes. They might have glared at him like daggers but goddamn. That's all he could think about.

     Why the hell did his mate have to be the enemy? This better not be fate. It's bullshit, to be honest. But what the fuck? He couldn't stop thinking about her.

     Brad sat next to him and nudged him. "So I've noticed that you've had this weird ass look on your face."

     "Me? Weird look?" Aaron shook his head. "Nah."

     Brad grinned. "You're right. You just look weird." Aaron shoved him off the couch.

     Brian came into the room, carrying a box. "So I brought you guys something. A little something to do until we're sure we can go after the Viscosoes again." Everyone looked at him and wondered what he was about to pull out.

     He pulled out a new PlayStation 4 game console. All the guys gasped and looked at each other. "It's game time, fellas."

~~~~~~
     Remembering, Aaron lost his knife back at the woods. It probably was still there, or he actually hoped that that girl had it. Either way, maybe he should go get it?
     No, he's just trying to come up with an excuse to go back. He should not go back. Those are the enemies. Besides, what would everyone else think of him? Hell, what he think of him?
     And he just died in the game.
     "Aaron, we're not coming to revive your ass. We got way too many zombies on our own asses," Brad said.
     Aaron rolled his eyes and sat back. "Well, fine then."
     "You got your heads in the clouds, man?" Loren asked without looking at him.
     Aaron set the controller down and ran a hand through his hair.
     "Aw, shit! The brute is here!" Kenney yelled out. "I need ammo!"
     The girls just looked at him and rolled their eyes. Aaron laughed. "You need me to kill him. I'm the best at killing him quickly."
     "And why the hell is that?" Amaris asked. He'd never played the game in his life before, but all the guys sat around and taught him the ways. Now he's a damn pro at it.
     "I have the best gun. And it's Pack-a-Punched." Aaron crossed his arms.
     "You know what? Fuck you."
     Aaron laughed and just watched them fail to kill the brute. So they all died.
     "Well, damn. 2k17 anyone?"
     "I'll pass on that one," Aaron said and stood up, stretching. Soon, everyone was involved in the game, rooting on the teams. Dominic was even playing the game.
     Meanwhile...
     Aaron went back to the woods. He knew he'd be in big ass trouble for this, but he couldn't help it. He felt like he needed to see her again. Guess that's what the whole mate thing is about.
     He went to the spot where they rolled around and just stood there with his hands in his pockets. Okay, this was stupid. He shouldn't have come-
     "Well, hello there, handsome. Nice to see you again," a feminine voice said.
     The voice sent chills down Aaron's back, and he knew it was her. He smirked a little and saw her leaning on a pole, twirling his knife around in her hand.
     "Are you here for the same reason I am?" Aaron asked.
     She shrugged a little and stared at him with those hazel eyes. "I was just going for a walk."
     Liar.
     "And why didn't you kill me? You had the perfect chance. Did you feel what I felt?"
     "If you're talking about what I think you're talking about, then I didn't kill you because I didn't want to feel the pain."
     Aaron crossed his arms. "Is that really why?"
     His knife came at him in a flash. He caught it by the hilt and saw her walking towards him. His eyes traveled down her body in a hungry way. Her big, curly blond hair curled around her perfect body and blew away from her face. She had a small smile playing on her lips, and her eyes looked at him in an almost lustful way.
     God, this chick was sexy.
     "We're mates. So what?"
     She walked around him in a circle, brushing against him like a cat.
     "What do you mean so what?" Aaron shivered a little. "We should do something about it."
     She laughed abruptly. "Do what? Go on dates? Get married? Have puppies?" She shook her head. "Not gonna happen."
     Aaron frowned a little, but he saw this coming. She didn't seem like the mate type. A smirk formed on his face. "Why not? You want me."
     She jabbed her finger at his chest. "Watch it," she hissed.
     Aaron, feeling brave and playful, grabbed her hand and wrapped it around his neck. She hesitantly surrendered, due to the mate connection. Sparks lit up Aaron's hand and went down his arm and to his neck where she was touching. Aaron wrapped his arm around her waist and pulled her against him. Her mouth parted and her breath left her mouth on a whoosh.
     "Admit that you want me," Aaron whispered against her lips. He might have been torturing her, but he was also torturing himself.
     She shook her head. She was so damn stubborn, but it turned Aaron on. "Fine. I'll admit it for you."
     Aaron grew the biggest balls on earth and kissed her. She melted into the kiss right away, having no choice anyways because all she felt was static, shocks, and lust. He wrapped both arms around her and pulled her closer as he kissed her softly. She gave a feminine sigh and wrapped her arms around him, getting on her toes to kiss him better.
     The kiss was hot and sensual and there was lip-biting involved. It had each other panting when they pulled away.
     "Now tell me we can't do something about being mates after that," Aaron said huskily.
     She stared into Aaron's eyes with those hazel ones and shook her head. "We can't..." she whispered.
     Aaron frowned. "What? Why not?"
     She pulled away and shook her head again. "I'm sorry..." she started to leave.
     "Wait, come on!" Aaron started after her.
     "Jasmine," she said over her shoulder. Aaron stopped in his tracks, and for some damn reason, it started to get foggy and misty. "My name is Jasmine."
     The last thing Aaron saw was her hazel eyes glowing before she disappeared.
