51 Something is wrong... I can sense it.

Elektra

Olivia and I sat quietly in the car as I drove. I didn't even allow her to put some music on because I don't need Dominic to hear me coming. This is the first outing he's been on in ages and Angel sent me the details directions to their 'meeting'. It's too early for this I've only had a couple hours sleep since the last night's hunt. It wasn't even Dominic just rebel vampires probably part of his scheme and I was with my Pride that time.

Olivia rather than seeming nervous she kept a calm collected attitude as if this were nothing but morning out. If I didn't have such good senses I would have almost believed she was really calm.

"We have a few hours before we have to be at school."

"I know don't worry we'll be there on time."

"Does Luke know about this?"

"Olivia I got the text half an hour ago plus I'm not going to worry him and give him a reason to come and find me."

"I think a werewolf would be useful in this situation."

"And if he's caught the vampires will realise he knows and he will be a threat and they will try to kill him." I stated a matter of factly making her widen her eyes.

"Oh."

"Yeah."

"Where's?"

"Don't say her name or she'll blow up out of nowhere screaming."

I am exhausted. I just want to tear a vampire's throat and go home! Do you ever feel that need to bash someone just because? No real reason just because.

Scott must feel that way everyday. Maybe that's why he's dick, he just lacks the amount of healthy sleep to make him a decent human being.

I totally get him now.

Still want to shred his insides but I understand him.

~*~*~

We got of the car and met Angel at the front of the park.

"Who's this?" Angel questioned leaning off a tree next to the entrance. She's in her usual black gear get up and I stuck with three-quarter black leggings and a black hoodie. Olivia put on a grey jumper and stuck with black tracksuit pants. Give us a break it's still dark!

"My friend Olivia."

"Hey." Olive greeted.

Angel crossed her arms over. "She's human."

"She's very persuasive." When I say persusasive I mean she is the most infuriating nagger of the century.

"I don't care about her communicating skills, she is a mortal what the hell is she going to do?"

"I tried reasoning with her. But you know how humans are. Especially females." I joked to lighten the mood.

"I'm right here! And what the hell does that mean?"

Angel held her hand up to shut my friend up. Olivia is fuming. "Off topic. She stays here."

"I agree."

"What? NO! I did not wake up at five in the morning to stand around!" Olivia exclaimed.

"Just do your photography thing." I suggested.

Angel groaned. "Take photos are you serious this isn't a media project."

"Listen Angel you are wasting more of our time with your complaining." I snapped at her which made her stiffen in surprise. "You said you saw Dominic."

"No. I said I saw his companions they're just down there." She looked at the park swamped in trees.

"Better than nothing I suppose." I muttered disappointed. I was ready to kill him. Not his allies.

"Logan's down there." Angel stated and it was my turn to stiffen in surprise.

"Who's Logan?" Olivia asked.

"Adrian's dad."

"Oh he's the one that tried to kill you."

"Yeah sort of..." An arrow was suddenly fired and side stepped knocking into Olivia so it just cut the top of my ear.

"They've seen us!"

"Oh you think." I snidely remarked dragging Olivia back into my car and waited for Angel. "Are you getting in or not? Because I am happy leaving you for dead."

"You're cruel when you're cranky." Angel said.

"This kitty needs some sleep." Olivia mocked tugging at my ear and I smacked her hand away.

"What we doing gurls!?" Claire screamed from the back.

"What is this?" Angel questioned pointing to Claire.

"That's a one of kind oranginator 2000." Olivia stated jokingly.

"I'm an original oranginator." Claire added seriously.

Angel looked at her strangely. "Uh huh."

"Are we going back?" Olivia asked.

"Claire." I called out and she shot her head out right next to mine. "Take Olivia home please she needs a serious make over."

"ELE-!" They both disappeared before Olivia could finish screaming at me. There was a long silence before Angel climbed over to the passenger seat and looked at me. "You look like all of hell just leaped out bashed you up."

I chuckled even though I didn't find one bit of it funny. "Are all you Shadowhunters this joyful? I would like to know that for future assurance."

"I read the mortal instrument series." She changed topic. I smiled at that.

"Please tell me Jace is real." I begged.

"Unfortunately no." She whimpered and I pretended to cry.

"At least tell me Magnus is real. Actually lie to me."

"He isn't real."

"Yay!"

"I was telling the truth." I cried again. "My team are getting suspicious. All the sneaking around... they know me to well to believe I'm just being an average girl."

"Just say you've been meeting a guy."

"What? I can't say that."

"Just say you've been doing private missions."

"They'll question me about it."

"Then say you've been doing me." I couldn't contain the giggles when I felt her glare on me.

"Please be serious."

"Say you're stalking 1D"

"1D?" There's a girl that doesn't know one direction? The Gods are doing something right.

I gasped. "I just saw the light." I said cheekily. "Wait how can you know Justin Bieber but not One Direction?"

"Some might say he's been interactive with a few demons."

"No way!" I screamed excitedly.

"It's only rumours." She assured but she has a glint in her that explains everything. "Alright back to business."

"Yes since when do vampires use weapons?"

"They are being more precautious because of us killing them off."

"At least they finally understand we're a danger."

"But now they're recruiting more."

"You mean sending for more around the world or..."

"Stealing people's souls."

"We have to go back to that park. I know parents who jog around there... Olivia's mother jog's there!"

"I've got my whip."

"Like Isabelle Lightwood."

"I want a Simon so bad. Instead I have a Dave, a Will, a Marcus."

"Am I crime fighting with a slut?" I questioned.

"No, no... they're my team mates. Well Marcus is my guardian."

"They hot?"

"Ewe."

"It's just a question."

"They tried to kill you."

"Oh the hot African and the white trash with the war paint?"

"It wasn't war paint it was the stupid... Doesn't matter." Is she blushing? "Let's head back already."

"Alright but we're going to have to go on foot."

"Why?"

"My cat form doesn't fit in this car."

~*~*~

I got to school after a long shower, a full hour and ten minutes washing off blood then another hour and forty minutes resisting scratching the new fresh bites.

"You're alive!" Cole exclaimed when he walked up beside.

"What an amazing observation!" I gasped confused and slowed clapped mockingly.

"Luke is throwing a hissy fit." He stated as if that explained everything.

"He throws hissy fits?"

"Big ones." I don't know whether to believe him or not. He's grinning slyly so I won't.

"Just let him know I'm okay."

"Just did." He smiled then suddenly he scratched the back of his neck nervously. "Um how's Olivia?"

Probably really mad at me right now...

"Why don't you ask her yourself?" I smirked. I refuse to be the love messenger.

"I don't know if we're on speaking terms."

"Why?" My brow furrowed but inside I'm smiling eager to know the goss. Wow I have inner Claire...

"I have no idea. I don't get it! I thought we were I don't know finally getting along then she kisses me and..."

I gasped then squealed excitedly. "She kissed you?" His bewildered expression turned into a sheepish smile. "Aw! You're blushing."

"No. What? No." He yelled overdramatically interesting other students including Avon and Paul who walked our way smiling down at me. "As you were." Cole said to them making them scowl and roll their eyes.

I watched them go then stared back at Cole. "What was that about?"

"Luke doesn't trust them near you." He shrugged. Oh nice...

"But he trusts you?"

"I've promised not to share any embarrassing stories." He declared.

I tilted my chin up in a snobby way. "Then you're useless to me. You may go."

"But I need to talk to you."

"Right yes Olivia kissed you." I pushed him into an empty classroom kicking the door shut and sat myself down at the teacher's desk. "Do explain what happened because she ran away before I could question her."

He pulled a chair up opposite me. "She used me to aggravate her parents." My eyebrows shot up in surprise.

"I did not expect that."

"Neither did I."

"Did you make out?"

"We would have." He gulped. "If she let me." I couldn't contain the silent giggles. "I don't understand you women."

"We're not that complicated Cole." I replied dully.

"Are you kidding you're worse than rocket science?"

"Say you men! Please spare the guilt trick all girls just want is to be loved. You men are so insecure that one woman is not even nearly enough to satisfy you."

"I'm not like those men Elektra I take care of my women."

"Women? You have more than one huh? Well you can forget my help then I don't want any players breaking my girl's heart." I stood up and walked to the door peeking through the crack.

"You know what I mean." He sighed exasperated.

"But do I?" I teased then quickly closed the door when I saw Scott walking past.

"This was a mistake I'm gonna go..." He got up from his chair and walked over to me.

"No! No do you want to see her now and talk to her?" I asked him gently nudging him away from the door. He looked so lost and frustrated and my heart poured out to him. There's nothing I can do about Olivia liking him although it is almost a shame that she doesn't.

"What am I going to say?"

"Hello is probably a good way to start. Not exciting or unique but it's a classic." I said sarcastically.

He narrowed his eyes. "Oh you're going to be so good for Luke."

Cole

She led me outside to the oval where Olivia's soccer team were all sitting around laughing at something. I stuffed my hands in my trouser pockets and flipped my fringe back trying to act cool.

"Well hello ladies." I greeted smiling.

"Hey Cole." The rest of her soccer team cooed but Olivia's eyes stayed stuck on her book as usual pretending I don't exist. Elektra snickered as she gazed between the two of us then she smacked my back lightly.

"Good luck with that." She whispered.

"She won't even look at me."

"I know it's hilarious." She replied snickering again. Okay so there is even a bitchy side to Elektra. I swear women are the cruellest species on the planet not to mention the most dramatic. She soon began to skip away and I shook my head at her childish behaviour. She's going to be so good for Luke.

"Hey Liv can I talk to you?"

A sigh escaped her lips before she finally gazed up at me. "We have training now." She said then she was saved by their coach. I internally groaned and backed away off the field just to stand around and watch them.

When I say them I mean the confusing, annoying, difficult beauty looking very good today in those shorts. How have I never properly noticed her before Elektra? She was always just the best friend now she's Olivia Davids the girl who kissed me with no real care in the world.

"What are you doing out here?" Avon came over and stood beside me.

"Observing."

"Don't blame you. So which one are you looking at?"

"One?" I replied. He laughed. I don't want him of all people to know who I'm drooling after even though it must be obvious.

"Tell me again why I'm not allowed to go near Luke's girl?"

"Because he said so."

"That answer is not satisfying."

"Can't question a future Alpha Avon." I shrugged but gave him a suspicious sideways glare.

"Oh please as if you don't want to annoy him."

"I already have but the trick is to find an interest in someone who is available you should try that sometime." I mocked.

"It's not my fault the taken ones want me." He smirked.

"Haven't you heard the truth yet? They only converse with you to get to me." A ball unexpectedly smacked into my head. How did I not sense that coming? I glared around searching for the culprit who kicked and noticed Olivia glaring playfully at me down from the field. She mockingly blew me a kiss then ran back to her teammates.

"I think I'm in love." I said to Avon.

"I think the ball hit your head a little too hard."

"She likes me. She just won't admit it."

"Well I suggest you get her quick because someone else has eyes for her." I know who he's referring to and I internally scowled.

"Matt's just a stupid human."

"But a stupid one that the girl is crushing on." I saw her wave at him as he winked at her. "You're turning green Cole." Avon teased darkly.

"Whatever."

Elektra

Days have passed but I've been keeping strong. It's not like I've had no contact with Luke I mean we have our mind link which is sort of satisfying but just not the same. I'm too afraid to keep my mind open during school for Adrian will take any opportunity to barge in there and mess with me. I've only just gotten rid of him just now since I have art and he's not in that class. Part of me believes he respects that when it comes to my painting I need to be alone and maybe I'm right I don't care as long as I have just one class away from him.

Scott knocked into me but I held my books tightly so they souldn't slip. As for my temper well it hasn't had any reason to flare yet so let's hope Scott hasn't got matches. "Is it safe to talk or are you going to explode into tears?" That match he failed to light.

"I don't know what kind of insult that is. You've never seen me cry so I don't get it..." I shook my head muddled.

"I caught you running to cry in the bathroom. I'm curious pussy cat. I am depressed to think you weren't crying over me." Match lit but died in the wind.

"I don't cry Scott. I don't know what pills you've been taking but I suggest you take the prescribed dose."

"How's the boyfriend?"

"Why are you asking?"

"Can't a friend ask about relationships?" Match lit, staying lit.

"A friend?" I spat angrily. He has the audasity to call himself my friend? Well I have the courage to punch him in the face.

"I bet when you look at him you think of me naked." Cheap shot.

I chuckled then whispered right at his face. "When I look at an old man's saggy body and shrivelled up testicles I think of you naked."

"Good to know what you google to get yourself off." Dear Zeus you're as vicious as a girl.

"Good to know you secretly crush on me and wish I thought about you naked."

He hesitated. Wait what? Why did he hesitate? "Pleased to know the asylum let's you out without an escort."

"Happy to hear that your mother finally trusts you off the leash."

"How many abortions did it take before you realised you were meant to use condoms?"

"In your face Scott I'm still a virgin and proud." I stunned him and he paused for a second and half before a smirk passed his lips.

"Oh your boyfriend is truly disgusted with you. I'm not surprised either..." He hesitated again then whispered eagerly. "Are you seriously virgin?"

I gazed at him disgustedly. "If you're about to offer yourself to me, I'm not a desperate virgin and I have class." I bumped his shoulder storming off to get to my art class. "Such a jerk." I hissed.

I relaxed at my table where other students seemed hesitant to go over to. I don't care, I don't really want to converse with others although I'm not to sure I understand the fear of being near me.

Olivia claims that I can be intimidating without realising it. It's either sometimes how I look or speak or even just breathing in a certain way that scares people. I ignored them and started my work. I didn't bother with an apron but I did roll up my sleeves and sighed heavily. I don't want to be here...

"Hey creeper." Someone greeted sitting right next to me. She had a face that people would look twice because the first time you would think you imagined her. Her cloudy morning eyes are coated with black eyeliner, carefully drawn on to look like swirling vines around her eyes, her pale face is powered white to resemble of a ghost, her lips are painted black and her dark almost black purply pink hair is tied up in pigtails.

"Why are you an excpetion to this stupid make up rule?" I questioned her.

Her eyes widened and she smiled. Oh she even has the fangs. "Some greeting that is."

"You did call me creeper." I straightened assessing the girl.

"You have to be something weird if people are avoiding you."

"Maybe you should follow them."

"Do I look like I am an ordinary person?"

"No I think you are a creeper."

"I've been called worse." She crossed her arms.

I shook my head and turned my seat so all of me was facing her. "Okay this is getting weird who are you?"

It's only not weird when mythical creatures randomly come up to you. It's just normal friendly or deadly behaviour but for humans it's practically an act of madness. People are more willing to say hello to a strange dog than a stranger. It confuses me.

"Uh..." She looked away from me and I sensed that she's actually nervous. "I thought you'd know me from Scott's rumours."

"I don't pay attention to petty gossip."

"Well you've been the most popular gossip since you came. Scott barely bothers with me anymore. I kind of wanted to thank you for being his distraction." I perked my brow then went on with painting. "I'm Ashley."

"I'm-"

"I know. Like I said you're popular."

"I hope for good reasons."

"Mix of both." She shrugged. "What are you painting?" I'm not against making new friends but this is completely random? Right? Or am I overreacting? Maybe I'm being mean.

"I don't know to be honest." I admitted this with a more friendly to put us both at ease.

"You don't know?"

"I go with the flow."

"We're supposed to research inspiration for our art piece." She said as if I'm breaking the rules.

"Yeah well my brain is an inspiration." I replied sarcastically. "I'll just bull the whole research part."

"Okay..."

There was a long silence of her just sitting there staring at me. She has no artworks or sketch book in front of her she is literally doing nothing but watching me work.

"You're not in this class are you?" I stated more than asked.

"I have math upstairs."

"You poor deprieved child."

"Oh no I'm good at it. That's why my teacher doesn't care if I miss it."

"You understand maths? What is wrong with you?"

"I'm goth we go against what people like." I chuckled.

Sighing I found my hand painting the ocean. That reminds me I haven't tested out what Poseidon gave me.

I'm not to sure I want to.

"Is it true what you did to Scott?"

"You're going to have to be more specific. I've done a lot of horrible things to Scott."

For the rest of that lesson we bitched about Scott and became extremely close. Though I am incredibly suspicious of her for I recognise her scent but I can't pinpoint it to anything. All I know is she's not human.

Who cares when I have more pressing matters to think about?

~*~*~

Saturday afternoon~A month later

"Hey! I once stayed with a girl for a whole week!" Olivia and I started mockingly slow clapping.

"We're so sorry for your struggle Jared." Mockingly I pouted and he rolled his eyes at me.

"Whatever anyway Scott's coming over."

"Oh my Gods! We're sorry for teasing you but you don't have to be so harsh on your punishments!" I groaned dramatically falling on to their kitchen floor. "And I just hurt my head... ow."

"He's coming for homework reasons. You know you two should really try getting along."

"You know I should slap some common sense into you." I replied jumping back up on to my feet.

"Matt's coming to." He and I both looked expectantly at Olivia as she stuffed her face with cookies. She noticed us staring and glared at us.

"Stop looking at me like that." She jumped when the doorbell rang. I walked over to her as Jared went to answer the door.

I began poking her. "You like him."

"Shut up." She slapped my hands away but I kept poking her.

"You want to see him naked." I prodded. I gasped. "You want him to see you naked!"

"SHHHH!!! ELEKTRA! OH MY GOD I HATE YOU!"

"Where is she?" One of the boys asked.

I panicked. "Get the cookies and run."

We rushed upstairs laughing our arses off and Olivia slipped just before we made it to her bedroom door. I swear we're both crying with laughter, possibly dying. Oh Goddess my stomach hurts.

"What was in those cookies?" Olivia still laughed now crawling into her bedroom like a baby. "Is it possible to spike cookies?"

"Come on let's doll you up." I kicked the door closed.

She stood and stared at me perplexed. "What for?"

She is such a male woman. "The future father of my godchildren is downstairs and I feel like being girly so open that closet." I went to sit on her magnificent bed but I noticed big frilly dresses in my way. "Liv! I think there's something eating your bed!"

"What? Oh that yeah mum's set me up for the debutante thing."

"Uh oh..."

"It was that or a pageant."

"What's the difference?"

"For one you need a male companion. Which I don't have." Her voice softened as she walked further away into the depths of her closet.

"I'm sure there are plenty of suitable suitors dying to be asked."

"Name one." She spat.

"Cole. He'd go just for you but he'd only wear a suit for the free food."

"Cole? Why would I ever go with Cole?" I feel really bad for Cole right now.

"You told me to name a suitor."

"Alright but be realistic about it."

"Poor Cole."

"Whatever." She ran her hands over twenty pairs of jeans and I walked inside with her eyeing at her shoes. "Would you join it with me?"

"Olivia I can't afford to be a debutante. There are times I can't even afford a pack of gum."

"But you're a werecat."

"We don't have money making powers although that should be part of the deal after all the mess I go through. Not to mention the bites." I scratched my left arm with a vicious vampire bite.

"What about Claire?"

"Now she'd want to be a deb."

"No I mean can't she make money for you?"

"Olivia if you have to do to the deb, don't drag me down with you."

"Fine. Do you want some cream for that?" She asked pointing to the bite.

"It will heal eventually."

"Did you go hunting last night?"

"No grocery shopping actually."

"Why would vampires need to go grocery shopping?"

"They don't." No they try to get you alone in an alleyway to feed off you. Sneaky bastard.

'Hey beautiful.' I quivered at the sound of his voice. 'How was your day?'

'Where've you been?'

"I don't think I should dress up too much."

'I'm sorry it's been so long.'

'You should be I've been an emotional wreck without you.' I teased then pointed out a few clothes for her. "Try those shorts with that top."

"Black leather shorts? I don't wear leather cat woman stop trying to dress me like you."

"You'll look hot and it will make your petite little butt look bigger."

"Oh right big butts are in now." We both looked down at our chests. "I'm sure big boobs will come back eventually."

"Yeah lets hope so."

'Forgive me?' He cooed.

'Always.'

'What are you doing?'

'I'm with Olivia. We are out in the streets getting chased by the police and gangs.'

'Hm... maybe I should be hunt you down and keep you in check.'

'Why do you think I'm doing it?'

'Well then I'll be at your place.'

'What? Now?'

"Hey Lekki?" Olivia snapped her fingers in my face. "Back to the present sylvester."

'Race you to your place.' He challenged. I beamed excited.

"I have to go." I said suddenly.

"What?"

'Oh it is on.'-"I'm sorry Liv he-he... He's coming over and... Oh Fates I reek and my hair... Oh Gods my hair!" I panicked.

"And here we are worrying about how I look! How long has it been?"

"It feels like forever." I ran to her mirror and pulled at my hair. My dirty tangled hair!

"We'll doll you up."

"No time he's racing me to my house."

"Because that's normal." She said sardonically.

"Ugh pass me that magazine!" She threw it to me and I flipped through it trying to find something hot to wear. "AH! THIS IS USELESS!"

"You look fine." She said and I began rushing down stairs. "Sublime." She shouted.

"I hope so. I'm sorry..."

"Don't be ridiculous. Just tell me everything that happens okay? I don't care if it's 2am and he's lying right next you straight after you've done it."

"Done what?" We paused at the living room as three very intriguied boys stared at us. Then there's the father as well... Oh great Olivia's dad is going to think I'm a bad influence on his daughter.

"My maths homework." I replied even though it's pointless.

"Is that what they're calling it these days?" Her dad crossed his arms over and Scott snickered. Wipe the smirk off your face.

"Dad..." Olivia blushed and smiled at me apologetically.

"And they claim women are nosy." I shook my head at them as they all chuckled. Except Scott of course that would be scary. "I'll call you later okay?"

"You better." She warned.

"No wait what's happening El?" Scott called and my hand froze right on the knob.

"El?"

"Scott she doesn't have time for your rants she has real man to meet." I blew Olivia a kiss for that then ran to my car.

~*~*~

I stepped out of my car and from across my yard I saw Luke. Maybe it's just because I love him or just because of the sunlight but I swear he's glowing.

"I guess you won." I charged at him with full speed but once I reached him I gently wrapped my arms around his neck then slowly, tenderly kissing his lips. He responded immediately and almost desperately clung onto me as if I were about to disappear. I rested my forehead against his and hid my confusion. I can't feel the shocks, the tingles and the burning. Maybe that doesn't last for long once you're further in a relationship.

His scent is fruity...
