SEASON 1, EPISODE 3
pack mentality
"YOU'RE A TERRIBLE bowler!" Stiles exclaimed.
⠀⠀⠀They had finally been dismissed from lunch and were heading to their next period. The four were stuck listening to Lydia complain about school and Jackson boasting about lacrosse for the rest of the time. At least Danny was there to make quick comments on what they were saying to keep it interesting. Otherwise, it was vapid and uninteresting, and they were happy to escape. Even Stiles, since he had been freaking out over the group hang out.
⠀⠀⠀"I know!" Scott sighed, throwing his hands up. "I'm such an idiot."
⠀⠀⠀"Are you any good, Bridgette?' Stiles asked, turning to her.
⠀⠀⠀"I'm decent," Bridgette shrugged. "I enjoy the experience of the bowling alley more than anything."
⠀⠀⠀"What? The smell of hot dogs and the sound of screaming children?" Willow asked, raising a brow.
⠀⠀⠀"You can be my date if you want since you sound so into it," Bridgette told her with a sinister grin. "I can tell Mari that I need a girl's night with my sister."
⠀⠀⠀"No," Willow told her sharply. "You're not dragging me to some lame triple date... No offense Scott."
⠀⠀⠀"None taken," Scott muttered.
⠀⠀⠀Stiles groaned loudly, rubbing his hands over his face as he thought over the last half hour.
⠀⠀⠀"Man, that was like watching a car wreck," Stiles told Scott, looking physically pained. "I mean, first it turned into the whole group date thing, and then out of nowhere comes that phrase."
⠀⠀⠀"Hang out," Willow added, watching as Scott's head began to hang and sulk further.
⠀⠀⠀"You don't hang out with hot girls, okay?" Stiles told him. Willow narrowed her eyes at his comment. "It's like death. Once it's hanging out, you might as well be her gay best friend."
⠀⠀⠀"What about me?" Bridgette pouted.
⠀⠀⠀"You are the gay best friend, Bridge," Stiles told her, wrapping his arm around her neck and pulling her closer so he could whisper, "Now, your sister, on the other hand. If she keeps glaring at me like that, I'm going to assume she thinks she's hot."
⠀⠀⠀Willow raised an eyebrow at that comment, unimpressed.
⠀⠀⠀"I'm not the one who didn't even get an invite..." Willow stopped herself, thinking over her words. "Okay, I didn't get invited, but at least I'm not the one who didn't get an invite and has a crush on Lydia Martin."
⠀⠀⠀"Oh, my God," Scott said suddenly, the bell ringing. "I'm gonna be late for class."
⠀⠀⠀"Wait, Scott—!" Stiles called after him, then sighed when he left.
DESPITE STILES' PROTESTS, Scott had spoken to Derek and dragged them back to the school that night so he could try and resurface the memories.
⠀⠀⠀The three had been put on lookout duty even though Scott asked them all to be there. Stiles was the only one bothered by Scott leaving them behind, telling him that he had become the Robin to Scott's Bat-Man.
⠀⠀⠀Scott needed to do this alone, and if making the three of them lookouts when they didn't need to be, he would. After a couple of minutes of arguing, Stiles relented, shouting 'God, fine!' and sat with the sisters in his Jeep as the get-away driver.
⠀⠀⠀"Bridgette?" Stiles asked suddenly, the car quiet before except for him tapping his fingers against the steering wheel.
⠀⠀⠀"Yes?" Bridgette responded, looking up from her phone and to Stiles staring at her through the rearview mirror.
⠀⠀⠀"Do you think gay guys would find me attractive?" he asked, leaning his elbow against the armrest beside him.
⠀⠀⠀Willow looked at Stiles in amusement, a small smile coming to the edge of her lip. She wondered why he wanted to know all of a sudden, seeing as when they had been dating, he was insistent on being straight.
⠀⠀⠀However, Willow always believed he was lying to himself.
⠀⠀⠀"Speaking as someone who doesn't like guys," Bridgette prefaced before nodding. "Yeah, I think you are."
⠀⠀⠀"Thank you!" Stiles exclaimed, slamming his hands against his steering wheel like he had just proven something.
⠀⠀⠀"Not Danny, though," Bridgette added.
⠀⠀⠀"Oh, come on," Stiles groaned, leaning his head back against the seat, then whipped his head around to look at them. His eyes had gone a little buggy, and his expression was accusing as he looked between the two. "You can't read minds, can you?"
⠀⠀⠀"Why?" Bridgette asked, smirking. "Thinking about Danny naked?"
⠀⠀⠀"Now I am!" Stiles shrieked.
⠀⠀⠀"Why did I agree to this?" Willow whispered to herself, looking away from the two and out her window to the woods.
⠀⠀⠀"Willow?"
⠀⠀⠀"What?"
⠀⠀⠀"Do you think I'm attractive to gay guys?"
⠀⠀⠀"Oh, my God!" Willow exclaimed, slamming her hand against the window beside her. "This car is a trap! A death trap! Get me out of here!"
⠀⠀⠀"Uh, guys..."
⠀⠀⠀"What?!" Stiles exclaimed. "It's just a simple question."
⠀⠀⠀"Why do you care if you are?" Willow asked, turning and pointing her finger at him accusingly. "I thought you were straight!"
⠀⠀⠀"I was just wondering!" Stiles told her, his voice rising an octave.
⠀⠀⠀"Guys..."
⠀⠀⠀Willow raised an eyebrow.
⠀⠀⠀"You got a secret boyfriend, Stilinski?" she asked him with a smirk.
⠀⠀⠀"No," Stiles frowned, then a smile crossed his face. "You think I could get a boyfriend? There was that one guy at your work. He kept looking at me, and at first, I thought it was weird but maybe—"
⠀⠀⠀"GUYS!"
⠀⠀⠀The two turned to Bridgette as she pointed between them and toward the bus. They looked to see a flashlight shining between the buses and a security guard following, threatening to expose Scott.
⠀⠀⠀"Shit," Stiles muttered, turning around and slamming his hand against his horn. "Come on, come on!"
⠀⠀⠀Scott came bolting, using a car parked on the other side of the gate to jump off and over. He rushed to the Jeep, throwing the door open, and sat inside.
⠀⠀⠀"Go! Go! Go! Go!"
⠀⠀⠀Stiles turned the Jeep around and hauled ass off the school's property. There was a moment of silence as Scott tried to catch his breath before they were going one hundred miles a minute again.
⠀⠀⠀"Did it work?" Stiles asked. "Did you remember?"
⠀⠀⠀"Yeah, I was there last night. And the blood—A lot of it was mine."
⠀⠀⠀"It was yours?" Willow asked.
⠀⠀⠀"So, you did attack him?" Stiles assumed, confused.
⠀⠀⠀"No, I saw glowing eyes on the bus. They weren't mine. It was Derek," Scott explained.
⠀⠀⠀"What about the driver?" Stiles asked.
⠀⠀⠀"I think I was actually trying to protect him," Scott explained.
⠀⠀⠀"Derek showed you how to remember him killing the driver?" Willow asked, unconvinced. "After you just had him arrested for killing his sister?"
⠀⠀⠀"That's what I don't get," Scott said.
⠀⠀⠀"It's gotta be a pack thing," Stiles concluded.
⠀⠀⠀"What do you mean?" Scott asked.
⠀⠀⠀"Like an initiation," Stiles explained. "You do the kill together."
⠀⠀⠀"Is that a normal initiation?" Willow asked Stiles. "Or are you just making that up?"
⠀⠀⠀"I'm just trying to figure it out!"
⠀⠀⠀"Making things up isn't helping!"
⠀⠀⠀"Well, at least it means Scott isn't a killer," Stiles sighed. "And it also means that—"
⠀⠀⠀"I can go out with Allison," Scott concluded for Stiles, smiling wide.
⠀⠀⠀"I was gonna say it means you won't kill me," Stiles corrected him, turning to Scott with a disapproving frown.
⠀⠀⠀"Oh, yeah," Scott nodded, still thinking of Allison, no doubt. "That, too."
